Something's most people dont know is that denmark bought 60 ceasar units from france, which we agreed to send to ukraine. So france sent those units to Ukraine, but Denmark paid for them. I was in the danish artillery so i know this fact. Everyone was excited to get the ceasar systems, but we agreed to give them to Ukraine.
This means france took credit for our contributions to Ukraine.
The total danish contributions has been 60 ceasar systems, 40 M10... self propelled howitzers and 60 155 mm towed guns. Because as an artillery man i knew this was what we had in stock.

I never thought I would see Denmark contribute single handedly more than the giant in EU which is Germany. Shultz is a disgrace to the what should be the mighty leader of Europe. I hope he will be replaced with someone of calibre much like Mette Frederiksen. I would hope this happens quickly. As a western collection of countries we must all be on the same page. Thank you Denmark for leading and paving the way.

@@robert-zj7ef Denmark has been aware of this since the beginning of the war. And we have proven this over and over. We may not have donated as much as the USA has, but we have given them everything we have been able to give. You must take the size of Denmark into consideration when you look at what we donate. Denmark only has a GNP of about 400,000,000,000USD with the USA in comparison has 25,000,000,000,000 USD.
And we're litterally donating everything we have in stock, even the weapons that we needed ourselves to operate properly have been given to Ukraine. We are very much aware that the people of Ukraine are fighting a war so that we don't have to.

I'm not sure what some of the European countries have, but the USA has those HUGE C-130 cargo planes The whole back-end drops down and they can drive tanks, loaded trucks or whatever right up into the plane. Tie everything down so it is secure and that plane should be in the air hours after landing. This could also be part of training exercises to see how fast and efficiently the military can move equipment and supplies to areas where those items are needed. Now it has to be done under actual battle conditions.

Also to train/convert (new) fighterpilots needs 3-9 month intensive flight/tactics training
The Dutch RNAF and Danisch RDAF airforce where in he middle of converting to the F35 and minimal airframes airforces when the Ukraine war started.

We were the first country to do so and a few others have already joined in.
This will be the real game changer for Ukraine.
As far as i know the first will be shells for artillery, but also other ammunition facilities will be build.
This will both create jobs in Ukraine and also give Ukraine cheap ammunition, that can be transported to the frontline extremely fast and create a reliant capacity.

Not when autocracies like Russia, Iran, China, North Korea aim for a joint move. Even with good will. That's all about. In the short term only US can help significantly, in the long term Europe has to defend western values on its side of the Atlantic. I hope European politicians get it now. I think we all agree Europe needs to spend more on military. But in a way Trump's comment was a bit late, as most NATO members this year has already reached the agreed goal of 2% of GDP defence spending this year. Many already spend more - notably those bordering Russia. And many are preparing new budgets above 2%.
Probably in July, the NATO target spending will be raised to 2,5%. In Sweden, the army is beeing doubled in size by 2030, and agreed spending will be 2,5%, but I wouldn't be surprised if that might increase further. It's more of a question of practical feasability, than money. I think the discussion in the UK is also about raising to 2,5%.defence

It has already pledge an equal amount for the future. Also the 2% in its own defence is meet this year with a lot of future weapons being bought in the US. So don't say oh we're doing more than the US because you really are not. The reason the US wants European countries to donate more is because it's cheaper to send weaponry already available in Europe to Ukraine than it is from the US. It's not that the US can't supply Ukraine it's just Russia is not on our doorstep and Europe is closer to Ukraine.

Regardless of the price you associate with U.S. aid, or what amount of U.S. GDP it is. The fact is that once U.S. aid went away for 6 months, Ukraine was almost ready to give up and surrender. What would happen if Denmarks aid went away for 6 months? Those F 16s would not be available to Ukraine anymore? Ukraine won't miss what they haven't received yet. Others are donating F-16s anyway. Also it was the U.S. approval that made those F-16s possible in the first place. People should really stop comparing the aid from European nations with the aid the U.S. sends. There really is no way to make a real comparison. I don't know why this has to keep coming up as often as it does. I really don't like having to be an ass about this.

Ukraine getting over 100 F16s will also increase their air defense capablities, since they are som much for sofisticated and have far longer strike rangers than RuZzian figther jets (can take down enemy aircrafts up to 180 miles away with missiles) and their abilty to strike supply lines way inside RuZZia

Russia has now for years been preparing for a war against Nato, in Norwegian, Danish and English waters etc. Russia has been monitoring where internet cables are, gas lines etc. etc. There's observations of mysterious drones around oil rigs in the North Sea and I could go on.. Just an FYI for those who wonder why Denmark is so pro-active about supporting Ukraine. Denmark also funded 5-600 Leopards if not more together with the Netherlands on top of already newer versions sent earlier in the war. Denmark also provided the Neptune missiles used to down the Moskva, as they provided each box with a note describing how the Ukrainians could boost the range.
The funding of these much needed shells are also just a part of the ammunition initiative, which further funds production of shells in the countries closer to the conflict while we are rebuilding our own poorly stated military infrastructure and ammunitions production.
I am proud to see how much support the collective West and our allies in SEA are providing to help the Ukrainian people, which are a boon to have. Ukrainian refugees are working hard, learned our language and our customs just to not be a burden, massive respect.
It is nice to see how nations chip in with whatever they can for the most part, just looking at Italy here, who supported with what, 1 piece of 1970's artillery so far? Yikes.

That is, do you mean that, after having broken the eggs and taking advantage of the misfortunes of others, finally the United States leave Europe? Better late than never !

It is a simple case of enlightened self-interest for European countries to transfer as much of their own stocks to Ukraine because - as the concluding remarks noted - far better to defeat Russia in Ukraine than having to use those arms defending themselves at home from a rampant Russia in the foreseeable future.

@@gordjohn2322 No, it is not in the European interest to waste one's own defense for a regime which shoots at its own population in the East of Ukraine since 2014. It is not in the European self interest to hinder the liberation of the Eastern Ukrainians from the rule of the murderous regime in Kiev.

Please do include Poland in the map (around 1:30). They are European, too, and one of Ukraine's most supportive allies. Dziekuje!
