TSR (Like most of the sonic games) is very underrated, it's actually one of the most (if not the most) unique arcade racing games in the last years, the music is good, they NAILED the vehicle customizationa and the stats, the gameplay feels very smooth and fast (like it should be), and one thing I really apreciate, It's really hard to leave behind the cpu, this makes the races entertaining and exciting (unlike mk8 many times), even in the easiest difficulty.
Cap. Games like this are only good with friends, the constant character voice clips are annoying and extremely repetitive. It's literally joy killing to have a consistent first place position, and then the CPU is in 7th place every time. This game is okay, but it's in no way better than Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing or Mario Kart. It's too dependent on weak links in your team rather than individual player skill.

Character exclusive Team Ultimate music. 6. Vinyls to make your car look even cooler! 7. Horns. A wide variety of horns instead of Mario Kart's character-exclusive horns. 8. LEGENDARY car parts. Regular car parts, except in GOLD. Mario Kart's gold only went with the STANDARD kart pieces! 9. Comeback. The comeback is much easier in Team Sonic Racing. You don't have to be lucky to get a good item like in Mario Kart. If a teammate has an item, you request and receive it, regardless what it is, it is likely very strong. AND it will build up the Ultimate Meter. 10. Full customization. On top of just vinyls and horns, you can also change color of the base, body and wheels. You can also change glow with the right car parts. PRESETS are in 7. 5 regular presets, character preset, and default configuration all to customize the car in any way you like!

When you play this game alone is like Mario Kart but worst, but when you play this game with friends the team mechanics are awesome and do an unique and fantastic experience doing this my favourite car game, also for the story mode, pretty cool to be for a kart game.
Every time when i’m at my friends house when he wants to play Mario Kart with me I let him enter the Switch Settings to chance the button layout of the controller so I can play with a modern control scheme.
I just bought TSR because it was on sale for 10€ and I didn't feel like paying 60€ for Mario kart. But I'm really glad I did! I just play casually with my roommates and we usually play coop stuff anyways, so the team mechanic is really cool. But I also loved playing through the campaign by myself! Plus the karts look really cool and customizing and unlocking new colors is pretty fun.
I am pretty bored with Mario Kart. Something is just missing where Sonic AS Racing Transformed is just more replayable. I haven't tried Team Sonic Racing yet honestly.
I want them to make a Sonic R-style footrace game where physics is a focus. It would make sense for the series, and satisfy fans waiting for another Sonic R.

I came into this expecting it be a joke video, but you bring up some solid points. I agree with you on the character interactions. Ever since buying TSR in 2019, I have been greatly amused by the banter Sonic and the gang exchange with each other. Sonic is always a talkative type, so seeing him and his friends/foes properly talk smack while racing gives it so much charm. Speaking of which, the roster of playable racers is good. While certain character teams are odd, I appreciate that many of my favorite faces from Sonic are playable. Even Zavok is here to have fun. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has a passable roster, but relies too heavily on padding with babies, metals, forms, and the Koopalings. I am a giant nerd of the Mario series, and enjoy Mario Kart 8 Deluxe quite a bit. However, Team Sonic Racing is one of my favorite games on the Switch and of the whole Sonic series. It is so good. Very nice!
team sonic racing i prefer if i need to choose between mario kart 8.. i have both but i spend more hours in sonic racing the kart racing is so unique because of the team work..plus the music is really so much pumping me up to do better and focus more not to commit mistake.

Team Sonic Racing I still prefer over Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, I just wish that there was more to Team Sonic Racing. Such as more characters. Instead of Vector being on a team with Silver and Blaze, Espio and Charmy could have been playable and they would obviously be on a team with Vector. As for Silver and Blaze, Cream The Rabbit could have been in the game. Either she would be on a team with Silver and Blaze, or she could be on a team with Amy and Big so that Chao can be on a team with Silver and Blaze. To add more characters, they could have put Infinite in the game and he could have been on a team with Dr. Eggman and Metal Sonic instead of Zavok being on a team with them. Instead, two more of the deadly six like for example Zazz and Zeena could have been playable and they would be on a team with Zavok. I also would have liked to see Jet, Wave and Storm playable in the game. Besides characters, I already like the game how it is. I’d say if they had more race tracks in the game and that would be it for me.
Team Sonic Racing is definitely a worthy contender to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe no doubt but personally the game died and it died HARD. I wish the game took its self more seriously with these teams because honesty some of them are mega random and the ones you mentioned would be a perfect addition. Hopefully Sega and Sump Digital Learn from this game and implement a better team up mechanic in another game or future update! Thanks for the comment! Same with Shadow, Rouge and Omega. Kinda the same with Amy Big and Chao...I would have liked to see Cream instead of Chao but I guess it works. But then there is Silver, Blaze and Vector? I mean I get Silver and Blaze, but why is Vector on a team with them? Vector barley ever interacts with Silver and Blaze. I don’t get why Charmy and Espio weren’t in the game. I hope Sega in upcoming sonic racing have lot characters,for Example:Jet,Wave,Storm,Zeena,Zazz, Tikal,Chaos,Whisper,Tangle,Espio,and cream and Classic Sonic too.And who knows in upcoming sonic racing games we can build our Avatar to can race in games too just like Sonic Forces.
I agree. Took a little while to get used to the differences after decades of the familiar feel off Mario Kart, but Team Sonic is better. I think Transformed is pretty close too. I like that the game rewards you for doing well. In Mario Kart you can play terribly, pick up a couple of bullet bills and win.
I own both games on Switch. Sonic Team Racing wins hands down. Biggest reason: in STR, I don’t expect to get hit with a blue shell or lightening bolt when I get in first place. MK8 sucks because of that frustrating predictability of punishment for Racing well. You don’t get punished in STR.

Soooo, because you suck at one game and like to have your hand held, you choose the lesser racing game? The blue shell literally will not matter if you're far enough ahead (not to mention there is an entire item that can destroy the blue shell, as well as several tactics to avoid the blue shell without it) and lightning affects EVERYONE in the race, not just 1st place. In TSR, you can full speed ahead and have no trouble the entire race, until your teammate comes in 8th place and drags down the whole team score. TSR is literally a poor man noobish Mario Kart

TSR Is the 2nd best Racing Sonic Game Because SASRT For Exemple Has Perment Flight, While The Gliding In MK7 And 8 Is Temperally Like Sanctuary Falls Literally Has 2 Full Plane Laps
I'm also a huge Mario fan but I also prefer Team Sonic Racing over MK8 Deluxe. This game feels really fresh and there are so much to do while in MK8 Deluxe you play the same modes since over a decade.
TSR is underrated, sure online ia dead but offline AI are fairly competitive, MK8 is good but kinda luck reliant, CTR online suck & offline is boring AI are too easy

TSR could be better they just released a game like this, it seems a beta game, they could add dlc, more maps and caracthers, its really boring playing with the same 15 caracther even though there are many caracthers which is car its not really atractive to play, there are a lot of teams in sonic series, they just added 5 of them :l
No no no... All stars transformed is the best kart game EVER MADE, Mario kart doesn't even come close let alone that Sonic racing trash. Ok transforming section do require learning how to handle the but it's very satisfying when you master them to perfection

Team Sonic is more fun than Mario Kart in the long run. The tracks in MK are now outdated by today's standards. Sonic has very interesting tracks imo which makes it exciting and the team concept is a nice addition. What this game need is an update to add water tracks and ability to tranform into boat. I don't care for the flying at the moment.

I honestly just dislike the direction Nintendo is heading, many practices I don't like to justify us to buy more hardware and overpriced games in their store. I was also searching for a kart game for myself and my little nephew that will be gifted a Xbox Series S, and in my opinion Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2 is quite suitable for kids as there are many tracks, and they are all kind of crazy and fun, but that game also has its negatives. I have played Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed (single player) a while back, and I did not get any strong opinion/feeling about it. I still have to play Team Sonic Racing, and play on multiplayer. It's all good to have a diversity of non-exclusive games. I just got a surprises that Nickelodeon made a Smash Bros alternative: Nickelodeon All-Stars Brawl, that I still have to play, and is probably better than Slap City.
Hmm idk chief, TSR pretty much died really fast after CTR's launch. The game needs more content and needs fixing and the Story Mode is kind of a "nothing story"

@@alexhernandez9697 I own both CTR and TSR, the problem with TSR is that it's kind of a inferior version of ASRT. The gameplay is good and the Team Mechanic is a interesting take but the needs more support. It lacks a bit content especially the character roster and tracks (15 characters and 21 tracks [almost the half are returning tracks]). It ain't a bad game but SEGA kinda dropped the ball and the devs are working on a different game. The OST is great and Local Co-Op is really good cause the experience is better with people (CPUs are bad teammates).

#5 Where in Mario kart 8 deluxe you had pretty much the same Mario copy and pasted and just put on a different power up, in team sonic racing while is its 3 hedgehogs and 1 metal bot, they are different from sonic in terms of design and characteristics and not a copy and paste just to get a bigger cast.
But Mario Kart has the shortcuts that you need to Discover. If it is also in Sonic races like this I take it Back. And I normally am a HUUUGE Sonic Fan

I agree. Took a little while to get used to the differences after decades of the familiar feel off Mario Kart, but Team Sonic is better. I think Transformed is pretty close too. I like that the game rewards you for doing well. In Mario Kart you can play terribly, pick up a couple of bullet bills and win.
I'd probably choose Team Sonic as Mario Kart gets old IMO.
I own both games on Switch. Sonic Team Racing wins hands down.
Biggest reason: in STR, I don’t expect to get hit with a blue shell or lightening bolt when I get in first place. MK8 sucks because of that frustrating predictability of punishment for Racing well. You don’t get punished in STR.
Sonic team racing copied Mario kart. And the question blocks copied Mario kart! Mario kart is way better and way more successful

Soooo, because you suck at one game and like to have your hand held, you choose the lesser racing game? The blue shell literally will not matter if you're far enough ahead (not to mention there is an entire item that can destroy the blue shell, as well as several tactics to avoid the blue shell without it) and lightning affects EVERYONE in the race, not just 1st place. In TSR, you can full speed ahead and have no trouble the entire race, until your teammate comes in 8th place and drags down the whole team score. TSR is literally a poor man noobish Mario Kart

I'm also a huge Mario fan but I also prefer Team Sonic Racing over MK8 Deluxe. This game feels really fresh and there are so much to do while in MK8 Deluxe you play the same modes since over a decade.

TSR is underrated, sure online ia dead but offline AI are fairly competitive, MK8 is good but kinda luck reliant, CTR online suck & offline is boring AI are too easy
The only problem I have with TSR is the drifting because it doesn't feel too good, but it's solid. EVERYTHING ELSE IS AWESOME

TSR could be better they just released a game like this, it seems a beta game, they could add dlc, more maps and caracthers, its really boring playing with the same 15 caracther even though there are many caracthers which is car its not really atractive to play, there are a lot of teams in sonic series, they just added 5 of them :l
No no no... All stars transformed is the best kart game EVER MADE, Mario kart doesn't even come close let alone that Sonic racing trash. Ok transforming section do require learning how to handle the but it's very satisfying when you master them to perfection

Team Sonic is more fun than Mario Kart in the long run. The tracks in MK are now outdated by today's standards. Sonic has very interesting tracks imo which makes it exciting and the team concept is a nice addition. What this game need is an update to add water tracks and ability to tranform into boat. I don't care for the flying at the moment.

I honestly just dislike the direction Nintendo is heading, many practices I don't like to justify us to buy more hardware and overpriced games in their store.
I was also searching for a kart game for myself and my little nephew that will be gifted a Xbox Series S, and in my opinion Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2 is quite suitable for kids as there are many tracks, and they are all kind of crazy and fun, but that game also has its negatives.
I have played Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed (single player) a while back, and I did not get any strong opinion/feeling about it. I still have to play Team Sonic Racing, and play on multiplayer.
It's all good to have a diversity of non-exclusive games.
I just got a surprises that Nickelodeon made a Smash Bros alternative: Nickelodeon All-Stars Brawl, that I still have to play, and is probably better than Slap City.
I had more fun with this game and it’s better in multiplayer but in single player Mario kart is better

Yeah, you can! But it doesn't work super well because you won't have your thumb free to do the Team boost, or to exchange items with teammates.
Hmm idk chief, TSR pretty much died really fast after CTR's launch. The game needs more content and needs fixing and the Story Mode is kind of a "nothing story"

@@alexhernandez9697 I own both CTR and TSR, the problem with TSR is that it's kind of a inferior version of ASRT. The gameplay is good and the Team Mechanic is a interesting take but the needs more support. It lacks a bit content especially the character roster and tracks (15 characters and 21 tracks [almost the half are returning tracks]). It ain't a bad game but SEGA kinda dropped the ball and the devs are working on a different game. The OST is great and Local Co-Op is really good cause the experience is better with people (CPUs are bad teammates).
Forgot about car customization, you can change parts of the car but they also change the stats.

Where in Mario kart 8 deluxe you had pretty much the same Mario copy and pasted and just put on a different power up, in team sonic racing while is its 3 hedgehogs and 1 metal bot, they are different from sonic in terms of design and characteristics and not a copy and paste just to get a bigger cast.
