Team Sonic Racing is an amazing multiplayer game with great controls, great soundtrack, and an awesome team behind it. Still able to keep things fresh, along with a wide variety of characters has made this one of the funnest racing games I've played in a long time. Plenty of modes that keep me invested, but those darn time trials. The BANE of my Completionist existence. Take my advice, play with friends. Solo mode is fun, but things get intense when you're team racing.

Almost there. The time trials are really getting me beat.
making some good progress, done most the odd trophies and all the online stuff so far

The fact that Sonic is using a car instead of just actually running shows that he's a good sport

And also bitched about Sonic doing sports.
And also about a Sonic party game.
And about Sonic doing a game in space, with claims that he ripped off Mario Galaxy somehow.
And about Sonic Lost World ALSO ripping off Mario Galaxy because they ran out of excuses.
Meanwhile, Mario Odyssey rips rolling from Sonic games(as well as some loop de loops and bouncing on mushrooms) and, go figure, those same people are nowhere to be found.
Sorry, this started off as just the first line but then I was reminded of the 25+ years of hypocritical accusations of plagiarism.

Honestly, I'm kinda tired of that whole thing of "Oh sonic is drivig for no reason! he can outrun EVERYONE!"

Shocked by how much I love this game. Didn’t care about it all up until maybe a few days prior, picked it up on a whim and holy crap I adore it.

1 other friend should be enough to pass through the team races. But the AI teammate will usually fall way behind if the 2 human players don’t help it out by passing items.

Same experience for me...sounded fun but was not expecting it to be as good as I was pleasantly surprised to find out! The teamwork focus is great and the levels are great!

The Sonic racing trilogy have all been some great sleeper hits imo, Sumo knows what they’re doing with this series.

@Sonic115 I think because most new sonic games had no online for almost a decade.The last one was rise of lyrics.
This game has been absolutely wonderful, even despite currently not having anyone to play it with. My A.I. teammates have been incredibly reliable, which has been a surprise to me considering I didn't often put faith in any teammate that's controlled by a CPU! I absolutely love the kart customization, too. I feel like I've spent more time customizing the vehicles of every character than I have actually playing the game. lol
I personally go for the Technique characters for their superior handling and off-roading, though I dabble with Speed characters on occasion.

1: Exactly. He’s in a car so it’s a fair competition.
2: The same argument could be applied for Extreme Gear, yet nobody questions him using it in the Sonic Rider series!

Does anyone else like how they handled Big the Cat in this game? He's just so overwhelmingly NICE, complimenting racers on their skill when he gets hit, saying your team's just happy to be together when you're losing and all that, I love it :'D

Game have very good aspects. Playing as a team is very good move as you commented it. Racing gets really boring if only your placement matters.

I'm mostly nostalgic player and I play old games (mostly old FF games). I want you to see you complete FF VI (aka FF III in SNES in USA). I know it'll take hundreds of hours for completionist, but the nostalgia trip is worth it.

Yeah, that was a much better game and the S class difficulty stages to towards the end a real challenge.
@@berbladotcom3425 Ralph is fine and Danica is the equivalent of having the Mercedes Benz cart in Mario cart, I feel indifferent to it.
Maybe it will get a furure port but the odds of that are slim.
This game looks really fun! The video definitely doesn't feel like a paid endorsement, it genuinely looks really fun. The team aspect seems fun, like what Double Dash had!

I like how this game has multiplayer/split screen, so that you can actually play with friends nearby instead of ONLY online players. A lot of multi-platform racing games mostly have online multiplayer instead of local, which is not as fun in my opinion. Cause what’s the point of multiplayer if you aren’t playing it with the person right next to you, and instead you’re playing with a total stranger? Games are fun when you have a buddy to play the game with.

Probably a joke about how the name is almost exactly the same way as Crash Team Racing
This game is great, but I wish this game had animated story cutscenes, mixing character teams (like having a team with sonic, eggman and big the cat), and have jet, wave and storm playable
The team boosting part is mostly based on the Need for speed carbon own the city game from the psp. But improving on that formula.
Glad that game is still recognized
I would hope they got it from Sonic Riders considering they had a mechanic called Slipstream that performed near the same purpose as this one.
or just nfs carbon generally, the console and pc versions also had slipstreamer type teammates

Finally a fair review.
At first, I thought that this game had a few flaws, but after playing it, it all makes sense.
I'm still amazed Arin "UNAVOIDABLE CHIN MOVE" Hanson was used to market this game

After seeing mediocre reviews, I'm glad I watched yours. I love Sonic (Classic, Dreamcast, and Mania mostly), and have enjoyed Sonic Racing games, played the heck out of R on my PC. When I get a bit of extra money, I'm gonna pick this up, plus my kids will enjoy it too. Maybe it will tie them over until we finally get a Switch at Christmas...
It's so weird that soccer players use their feet. They could easily pick up the ball and toss it in the net!

TSR underrated. Happy to beat the game and found a lobby to play in 2023 (even if it was 1 person). 🤞🏼I will come back to complete this someday. The music alone is worth coming back to.

Each team does not require a character of each type, you can choose whoever you like, me and my family tend to pick Shadow, Blaze and Sonic, all speed types.
Also, the Legendary parts aren't any better than the regular parts, they don't up your stats at all, they're just a gold variant.
There is also an achievement tied to time trial, it's for beating a friends time.
I think he was talking about team adventure mode which locks you into a certain team and requires one of each type when playing it co-op.

The Wii manual Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing clearly states that Sonic’s car was built for him by Tails as a way to keep the race fair.
There are few content creators that seem more passionate or ethical than you (and your team). This game wouldn't be on my radar without this video. I'm going to Blockbuster to rent this new kart racer! Oh wait, this isn't 2001. Maybe I'll pick it up in the digital store.

Transformed doesn’t involve as much strategy.
Typhoon Lex I have transformed (albeit the inferior 3DS version), so I’ve played my fair share of that game. This looks like a different kind of fun though, different than what Transformed offered.
Your Friendly Neighbohood Pizza Time yeah, it really doesn’t. Transformed is more about on the fly decision making, while this one is more about thinking about your teammates and how to help them. Like I said, different kinds of fun.
@@Typhoon_Lex I mean it's fine if people like Transformed more but I don't get the heavy downplaying this game is getting. If he had a PC both this and Transformed are great games to play.

Well the last Sega All Stars Racing only had Alex Kidd, Metal Sonic and then a few dlc characters only on the PC version. For as much as Sega milks Sonic, they rarely bother with DLC despite fans wanting it. (See Sonic Generations).
