Dogs can actually be used to rescue peoples lifes, help with disabilities, help with the cattle, find termites, they can guard, they can detect drugs etc. I think they bloody deserve to be appreciated more.
"I love dogs and cats are not dogs." I feel that right there pretty much sums up the misconceptions a lot of people have about cats. "The cat doesn't show love like a dog would show love, therefore it doesn't really love you." People just need to get to know cats on the cats' own terms, and not constantly compare them to something they're not, will never be, and don't need to be. It's a bit like if people who liked cats said "dogs don't really love you because they don't purr." It's just silly.
I think that what they mean is that they like how dogs express their love and that’s why they love them over cats. There’s nothing wrong in different preferences.

I find dogs can be Kinda boring. Sure they’re happy to see u and some play fetch.. but then they just lay there whereas a cat will snuggle you for hours. I find cats are more affectionate than dogs but maybe it’s just me.
@@Bunny11344 Depends who you are to the cat. You can be like a big brother (which I usually am) or like a parent (my mom). I always play with my cats + snuggle + being a food dispenser. My mom is more like snuggle + food dispenser + my cats are scared when she's angry. Then there are people who are pretty much only seen as a food dispenser. (usually when you barely have any connection with the cat)
People don’t like cats because they have boundaries. You have to earn their love just like you do with a real person. Dogs are high maintenance and needy.

True. And they vary. One cats boundaries are not the same as others. My present cat is pretty much like stuffed animal (with me, anyway). Snuggle and cuddle as much as I want, carry/hold however I want, pet wherever I do, he has no complaints and is a melting happy ball of purr.

My other cat though, he only wants affection when its on his term; doesn’t like being held, doesn’t like his back being pet etc.. so I respect that. If I do pick him up, or pet him too much, he’ll show a clear sign that he doesn’t want it. He’ll only get seriously violent if you keep following him around trying to touch him. He still always wants to play. He doesn’t avoid my presence, he’s not aloof. Its just called wanting personal space.
When I was a child I wanted a cat and one day a bedraggled calico kitten showed up at the back door. My father, who considered himself a cat hater, only relented because I was very ill at the time. Fast forward a couple of months and my father has my mother and me doing all his bidding because "I've got the cat on my lap and I don't want to disturb her." She lived to be a very spoiled 22.
I have always thought I didnt like cats. I still say I'm not a cat person and yet I some how have acquired 4. 😂 I can tell my cats apart just by the way they sound coming down the stairs
I was a dog guy for 40 years then my daughters wanted a kitten that grew into a cat. Then they sort of lost their attraction for it. After a couple years, me and the cat got very close. I owned the cat 16 years... She taught me all about being a cat.
My late husband was the king of cat haters! Until I took him to adopt one to keep him company at home during the day after he became disabled and in a wheelchair permanently. He then TOTALLY became a the best cat daddy there ever was! And he said to me, “ I just never realized just how bonded you can be… how much is just an “understanding “ of love you can have with them!” It is something so intimate , so personal at times that it can almost feel like ESP! I love my cats.. and to hear that from him meant the world to me! He bought his cat, “Fu Shen” the very best food, toys, water and a litter box that flushed away with the toilet hookup! He told me several times he had awakened in his recliner to find Fu Shen on his chest with his nose in his face… checking to make sure his breathing was okay… his love affair with cats began, and grew until he passed away in 2017…. At the time we had about 30 cats and kittens we fostered… the happiest I’ve ever seen him!
Not to mention he didn't realize just how CUTE they are!! Fostered...right...more like you made a half hearted attempt to find them a "forever home" and then was like aww, screw it, I'll just keep them for myself! That is often how "fostering" kitties goes, doesn't it? :D

I was freezing cold once because our radiators broke. Before we could get them fixed, it was loads of blankets all round. Mine were thin. Our cat realised I was cold and snuggled up to me, it was just the best.
I know right? Whenever I ask my friend if they love cats, some of them do and still like dogs. But when I ask a dog lover if they also like cats they get mad. LITERALLY. They say that cats destroy everything and they never love you back and they always scratch you when they never even owned a cat before. Like, why?
I had all these rules for our kitten. She couldn’t be in our bed etc. The first night we put her in her bed and closed the door to the room. She meowed incessantly, so we opened the door, and I told my wife “she’s to small to jump on our bed,” she clawed her way into the bed and has slept with us for three years. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for her.

+Chgo Gal They're not snobby at all. They're just like people. Some of them are very social like dogs, but most of them respond to how you behave towards them. If they don't know you, they'll ignore you. But if you get to know and love them, they will love you back unconditionally. Plus cats are low maintenance (no need to bath them or walk them), and you don't have to pay attention to them all the time. Just a few moments of bonding a day is all you need (play time and feed time) and you let them do the rest (cuddle next to you, etc)

Maisa Jabr Totally depends on the breed and if they're strictly indoors or not. Some breeds like the sphinx does need regular baths. And some like the abyssinian will volunteer for baths willingly lol (they love to swim). But my cat doesn't need one at all. She's strictly indoors and hasn't had a bath since we brought her home from the shelter 7 years ago and she's still fine, just needs occasional brushes :)
My cat is a Minx, meaning she is a hunting cat, so nights are fun. She's thankfully getting nicer as she gets older. Her name is Luna! Luna has started to let me hold her more often, which I am thankful for. I am getting more cuddles!!
I’ve had my cat for 18 years. She is my everything. She’s an old baby and i don’t know how anyone could hate her. She cries all night due to dementia sometimes, but I’m glad I’m able to be there for her in this time of need. And I will be there with her until she passes on :)
A cat loves you when they trust you. They don't automatically trust you but once they do. They REALLY love you. I wasn't a cat person until my first stray and I am so happy for that day otherwise I would have always just been a dog person. Now I am lucky to be both.

Having a dog is like having a child that never grows up - you get love without work but keeping them alive and healthy is a lot of work. Having a cat is like having a roommate - taking care of them is not a lot of work but building a relationship with them takes effort. Personally I prefer cats. I find it more rewarding to know that a cat likes me for being kind to them and I appreciate that I can just hang out with my cats without them needing something from me all the time (except food).

My dad “didn’t like animals”, it took me ages to convince him to get a kitten. Few months of having him, my dad carries him around the garden on his shoulder and every afternoon they take a nap together. Cats are awesome!
Cats are incredible. I got my Cat Jojo in November 1987 after my Mamma suddenly died, I looked for days found him in newspaper ad. When I got to his home the owner said he was going to Shelter because not nice. He came up to me knew how much pain I was in & just let me hold him crying screaming & Loved me. He saved my Life. All animals are gifts Dogs, cats, ect....

There are different types of cats just like dogs. Some are smarter, some more affectionate...some mellow, some playful. They all have unique personalities.
My cat kara is super playful, shes a stray that came into our home- (philippines has lots of strays) and she sometimes climbs and chills outside, but shes sometimes agitated and wants to play. But overrall shes a sweet kitten!!
Honestly, I've always been a dog person. That is- until this summer when I got my cat xD She loves everyone in the house, she plays fetch and catch, and she's the sweetest little cuddle buddy ever- She's an awesome cat- I couldn't have ever asked for one better than her! Plus, she's very careful- if we put a toy on ourselves, normally she'd pounce, but she knows it would hurt us so she will sit and wait for it to go back on the floor xD She's the sweetest, and I've grown to love her so much even though it's only been eight months with her, and she's not even a year old yet. She really filled up my life, I can't imagine a single day without her- I judged cats too quickly until I got one- never pass up the chance for a cat- they'll really bring a whole new life of fun to you :)
I became a cat lady at 44. I had no good experiences with cats and was scared of them because they didn't act like dogs. We decided we need a pandemic pet, but I wasn't sure I could live with the noise of a barking dog. My husband mentioned one day that there were hypoallergenic cats. It was like a ligh bulb turned on. I spent hours pouring over articles, books, videos, anything I could find to figure out the best breed for us. We have 2 wonderful Bengal cats now and I wish I'd done this earlier. I was always meant to have cats. Or maybe just my cats.
I had a similar experience. I went with the stigma that cats are aloof and that they're not affectionate. Now, I've had a cat for 5 years who won't leave me alone! All Lil Fleasy wants is love and attention.
My husband has been suffering from anxiety ever since his heart surgery. He wanted a dog (he's a dog person), but there are a host of reasons why getting a dog wasn't feasible. I adopted a cat, and she is his soul mate. She hangs out with him all day, sleeps on a stool on his side of the bed at night and he hasn't had an anxiety attack in over a year.
When I was living with my parents, our cat would come up to my bed and lay on my chest and start purring. That felt amazing. And now whenever I feel stressed I hear that purring sound and it helps me relax.
When my husband and I first got together, he told me that he was 100% a dog person. He never grew up as a family pet when he was little, either. I’ve grown up with both cats and dogs. I had two cats when we got together. Currently, we now have SEVEN cats.

Wrong , I have had more than 6 cats, as soon as i got a dog, i became a dog person. They are way better and loving. I have never felt emotional towards an animal before except for my beautiful Belgian malinois. Cats on the other hand are just lazy and they like us doing everything for them, at the end of the day they don't care lol.
i wasn't a cat person or animals in general but when i had one, she healed me.. like i never expect myself to love her... she also taught me how to love animals.. i can't imagine myself not knowing my cat anymore..
Me too! It was my brother who initially begged to get a kitten, but it was me who bonded with the catto the most. He really helped me get through rough patches of life.
PSA cats like wider bowls because it’s easier to eat and it keeps their face clean. Their whiskers hitting the sides of the bowl can really hurt and irritate them 🙂
Okay, cats do really love you, you just have to earn their trust. And it depends on what cat you get; Some cats can be mean and terrible, and others can be sweet and loving.

Im a dog person, and i just think dogs and cats are good depending on the person. If you want a pet to walk and have energetic action around with, get a dog. If you want something quiet and sits on your lap, get a cat. I dont see why people are treating either one like satan XD
I am amazed how ignorant people are not even trying to understand how to interact with cats. They will reward you with amazing love if you put effort into understanding them. Few that do, end up loving them. quick tip - never use your hands to play, always have a cat toy.

It's ok to wash the cat at times. Sometimes, certain cats are unable to wash themselves properly especially if they're overweight or extra large that they can't quite reach behind. Cats such as Persians definitely need face washing due to their flat-faced features that often get crusty due to trapped moisture. Some male unfixed (unneutered) cats also become extra greasy during heat that might necessitate washing. Showing cats usually requires you wash the cat to produce the cleanest and most beautiful fur possible.
Anyone who says that cats don’t bond with their humans or love you the way dogs do, just hasn’t spent enough time around cats. My 2 are rescues, adopted them 12 years ago after they were rescued from an abusive first home. They were terrified of people, not at all aggressive but they just wanted to hide away from the world. But all they needed was time & patience & they became the sweetest, most loving cats you could hope for. They’re 100% aware of my disability & pain levels - on the bad days they instinctively know & won’t leave my side. Always give the fearful animals a chance, earning their trust & seeing them transform into happy, playful, content kitties is just about the best feeling. As I’m typing this lying on the sofa, one of my boys is fast asleep by my feet using my leg as his pillow & his brother is lounging on the cushions behind my head purring into my ear & giving me the occasional head bumps ❤️

A house is not a home without a cat. It is amazing how people think cats don't give love and are totally independent. Maybe feral cats can come across that way but every cat I have ever had has been a infinite well of sweetness and affection. I had a friend that thought they didn't like cats and they were totally floored to find out my cat actually knew its name. Once they noticed this they couldn't stop calling their name to see if they would respond and the cat was a pretty good sport about it even when the name calling got really old. They went from thinking cats were no smarter than gold fish or squirrels to thinking they are as smart as people and they are.

She litteraly freaks out when im in pain (cuz i have endometriosis) she moews as if shes calling for help and tries to confort me. People that think that cats dont love you obviously never had one!

I was the same as you, then by often visiting my best friend's place, I learned how cats behave and how special they are. This cat sits on me and when I was sleeping he would stand watching over my head 🐱

When I was 14, we had a rat problem at home and our neighbor would let us bring their cat to our home to catch rats. My parents then decided to get a cat of our own for the sole purpose of catching rats. We got our neighbor's cat's kitten. And in just a few days, my parents loved that little kitty like their first grandchild.

I feel this same way since I have owned a poodle and a chihuahua. They were SOOOOO not like their stereotypes! They WERE annoying to listen to when they barked at the door, but otherwise, not like what people think of. Also, pet rats. People can only think of the wild, disease-infested ones, not the ones that are actually bred to be pets. Such sweet babies!

We got 2 sisters as older kittens from some farm folks at a flea market, then a stray who'd been visiting us ended up staying, then a friend of my adult daughter was being evicted during the Eviction Moratorium of 2020 and we took 2 of her 4 kittens off her hands, so yes- we also have 5 cats.
Polari3 AJ same, it depends of the cat I guess. They are very independent and if they don't like you you can't make them. I have 7 cats,half of them rescued from streets, some ignore me or don't like to be touched some seem to have a split personality or drastic mood changes, some don't have a favorite in the family but I have one that seems that can't live without me gets depressed when I'm out and spends the day sleeping in my bed , runs to the door (always) when I come back from university to receive me, basically spends all the day with me. Except the night having insomnia cats disturb me at night so I send him with mom XD so the poor baby spends some time trying to enter and scratching the door it breaks my heart really... So if this is not love someone must explain me how else an animal can express it. Because it's not like he's attached to me because of the food (my mother feeds them all at the same time).

I adopted a cat because I was staying with my mom and her dog doesn't get along with other dogs. I had never had a cat, wasn't really fond of cats before. I didn't know what to expect and now he's my baby. He travels with me, he just melts my heart.
Cat Pillow i don’t hate cats perse, its just that cat owners let them run around outside day and night so although i didn’t choose to own a cat i now am obligated to have about six of them from the neighbours ,hunting after nesting birds, eating the baby hedgehogs in my garden etc. Thats what i hate. You want a pet. Fine. But keep them in your own yard don’t bother the neighbours with them.
Grew up with both. I will never forget how loyal dogs are but I cannot compare them to one another, cat's have their own charchater that's what makes them so special.

True! I got a puppy a few days ago and she’s made my whole house spell like pee and had teared up my couch (I’m not blaming her for that cuz she’s a dog I’m just saying)
My mom refused to get a cat for YEARS convinced it would be a terrible experience and that she didn't like cats. Our dog passed away and we wanted a pet but had no time for a puppy so I finally convinced her we should get a kitten. She went from passively tolerating him to scooping him up and giving "her baby" kisses at every possible opportunity. He may be her favorite child now😖She says it didn't make sense to her before but she now understands why people love cats so much. I do too, I kind of just vaguely thought having one would be fun but now he's my homie and we all love him to death.
Almost everyone I've met that says they hate cats, end up with one and fall in love with it lol. Not only that, they will defend it like a family member.
Cats only turn evil if you sit there and annoy them. And if you raise them right they won't even hurt you when they are annoyed. My cat is a total sweet heart and if I even annoy him he very gently bites you, it doesn't leave a mark and you can't even feel it. If he scratches he does it by accident (like when he's playing or if he gets freaked out)

My late husband was the king of cat haters! Until I took him to adopt one to keep him company at home during the day after he became disabled and in a wheelchair permanently. He then TOTALLY became a the best cat daddy there ever was! And he said to me, “ I just never realized just how bonded you can be… how much is just an “understanding “ of love you can have with them!” It is something so intimate , so personal at times that it can almost feel like ESP! I love my cats.. and to hear that from him meant the world to me! He bought his cat, “Fu Shen” the very best food, toys, water and a litter box that flushed away with the toilet hookup! He told me several times he had awakened in his recliner to find Fu Shen on his chest with his nose in his face… checking to make sure his breathing was okay… his love affair with cats began, and grew until he passed away in 2017…. At the time we had about 30 cats and kittens we fostered… the happiest I’ve ever seen him!

I was freezing cold once because our radiators broke. Before we could get them fixed, it was loads of blankets all round. Mine were thin. Our cat realised I was cold and snuggled up to me, it was just the best.

I know right? Whenever I ask my friend if they love cats, some of them do and still like dogs. But when I ask a dog lover if they also like cats they get mad. LITERALLY. They say that cats destroy everything and they never love you back and they always scratch you when they never even owned a cat before. Like, why?
I had all these rules for our kitten. She couldn’t be in our bed etc. The first night we put her in her bed and closed the door to the room. She meowed incessantly, so we opened the door, and I told my wife “she’s to small to jump on our bed,” she clawed her way into the bed and has slept with us for three years. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for her.

If they don't know you, they'll ignore you. But if you get to know and love them, they will love you back unconditionally. Plus cats are low maintenance (no need to bath them or walk them), and you don't have to pay attention to them all the time. Just a few moments of bonding a day is all you need (play time and feed time) and you let them do the rest (cuddle next to you, etc)

Maisa Jabr Totally depends on the breed and if they're strictly indoors or not. Some breeds like the sphinx does need regular baths. And some like the abyssinian will volunteer for baths willingly lol (they love to swim). But my cat doesn't need one at all. She's strictly indoors and hasn't had a bath since we brought her home from the shelter 7 years ago and she's still fine, just needs occasional brushes :)

My cat is a Minx, meaning she is a hunting cat, so nights are fun. She's thankfully getting nicer as she gets older. Her name is Luna! Luna has started to let me hold her more often, which I am thankful for. I am getting more cuddles!!

I’ve had my cat for 18 years. She is my everything. She’s an old baby and i don’t know how anyone could hate her. She cries all night due to dementia sometimes, but I’m glad I’m able to be there for her in this time of need. And I will be there with her until she passes on :)

A cat loves you when they trust you. They don't automatically trust you but once they do. They REALLY love you. I wasn't a cat person until my first stray and I am so happy for that day otherwise I would have always just been a dog person. Now I am lucky to be both.

Personally I prefer cats. I find it more rewarding to know that a cat likes me for being kind to them and I appreciate that I can just hang out with my cats without them needing something from me all the time (except food).

My dad “didn’t like animals”, it took me ages to convince him to get a kitten. Few months of having him, my dad carries him around the garden on his shoulder and every afternoon they take a nap together. Cats are awesome!

Honestly, I've always been a dog person. That is- until this summer when I got my cat xD She loves everyone in the house, she plays fetch and catch, and she's the sweetest little cuddle buddy ever- She's an awesome cat- I couldn't have ever asked for one better than her! Plus, she's very careful- if we put a toy on ourselves, normally she'd pounce, but she knows it would hurt us so she will sit and wait for it to go back on the floor xD She's the sweetest, and I've grown to love her so much even though it's only been eight months with her, and she's not even a year old yet. She really filled up my life, I can't imagine a single day without her- I judged cats too quickly until I got one- never pass up the chance for a cat- they'll really bring a whole new life of fun to you :)

I became a cat lady at 44. I had no good experiences with cats and was scared of them because they didn't act like dogs. We decided we need a pandemic pet, but I wasn't sure I could live with the noise of a barking dog. My husband mentioned one day that there were hypoallergenic cats. It was like a ligh bulb turned on. I spent hours pouring over articles, books, videos, anything I could find to figure out the best breed for us. We have 2 wonderful Bengal cats now and I wish I'd done this earlier. I was always meant to have cats. Or maybe just my cats.
I had a similar experience. I went with the stigma that cats are aloof and that they're not affectionate. Now, I've had a cat for 5 years who won't leave me alone! All Lil Fleasy wants is love and attention.

My husband has been suffering from anxiety ever since his heart surgery. He wanted a dog (he's a dog person), but there are a host of reasons why getting a dog wasn't feasible. I adopted a cat, and she is his soul mate. She hangs out with him all day, sleeps on a stool on his side of the bed at night and he hasn't had an anxiety attack in over a year.
I hope hubby is okay. I'm in heart failure and strangely so is my 10 1/2 year old cat. She's simply amazing, so loving, caring. But I'm to her also.

When I was living with my parents, our cat would come up to my bed and lay on my chest and start purring.

yah you don't have to wash the entire cat just because they get food on their chin. xD just take a wet rag and clean their chin.
It's ok to wash the cat at times. Sometimes, certain cats are unable to wash themselves properly especially if they're overweight or extra large that they can't quite reach behind. Cats such as Persians definitely need face washing due to their flat-faced features that often get crusty due to trapped moisture.
Some male unfixed (unneutered) cats also become extra greasy during heat that might necessitate washing. Showing cats usually requires you wash the cat to produce the cleanest and most beautiful fur possible.
That breed of cat actually requires some washing, especially when poop gets stuck on its fur.
Anyone who says that cats don’t bond with their humans or love you the way dogs do, just hasn’t spent enough time around cats. My 2 are rescues, adopted them 12 years ago after they were rescued from an abusive first home. They were terrified of people, not at all aggressive but they just wanted to hide away from the world. But all they needed was time & patience & they became the sweetest, most loving cats you could hope for. They’re 100% aware of my disability & pain levels - on the bad days they instinctively know & won’t leave my side. Always give the fearful animals a chance, earning their trust & seeing them transform into happy, playful, content kitties is just about the best feeling. As I’m typing this lying on the sofa, one of my boys is fast asleep by my feet using my leg as his pillow & his brother is lounging on the cushions behind my head purring into my ear & giving me the occasional head bumps ❤️

It is amazing how people think cats don't give love and are totally independent. Maybe feral cats can come across that way but every cat I have ever had has been a infinite well of sweetness and affection. I had a friend that thought they didn't like cats and they were totally floored to find out my cat actually knew its name. Once they noticed this they couldn't stop calling their name to see if they would respond and the cat was a pretty good sport about it even when the name calling got really old. They went from thinking cats were no smarter than gold fish or squirrels to thinking they are as smart as people and they are.

She litteraly freaks out when im in pain (cuz i have endometriosis) she moews as if shes calling for help and tries to confort me. People that think that cats dont love you obviously never had one!

I was the same as you, then by often visiting my best friend's place, I learned how cats behave and how special they are. This cat sits on me and when I was sleeping he would stand watching over my head 🐱
I would lie about hating cats just so I could get a cat for a week. When the week is up, I wouldn't give the cat back.

"You're not a cat person until you get a cat" that is so true! Since I was 5 I wanted to adopt a kitten but my parents were never interested in cats. When I was 14, we had a rat problem at home and our neighbor would let us bring their cat to our home to catch rats. My parents then decided to get a cat of our own for the sole purpose of catching rats. We got our neighbor's cat's kitten. And in just a few days, my parents loved that little kitty like their first grandchild.
My cat has only ever caught 2 mice he is lazy.
Dogs either hate you or love you for no reason. With cats you have to earn their love.

@Chad Mower ikr!!! we adopted a street cat when she was pregnant and after 2 weeks she finally let us pet her n she started loving me back.. i had literal tears of joy and happiness.. thats some different level of happy I cant even explain 😭😭😭😭
I feel this same way since I have owned a poodle and a chihuahua. They were SOOOOO not like their stereotypes! They WERE annoying to listen to when they barked at the door, but otherwise, not like what people think of. Also, pet rats. People can only think of the wild, disease-infested ones, not the ones that are actually bred to be pets. Such sweet babies!

I know, its like that one bit by that one comedian who I can't remember right now. Something like, "You HATE cats? What did they do to you? What could a cat possibly have done to make you HATE all cats? Did one murder your entire family or something?"
It makes me cry because I love my cat so much :( I understand that they've just had a bad experience with cats in general, but my cat is so great to me and I love her so much, I take it sooo personally.

Ain't that the truth. We got 2 sisters as older kittens from some farm folks at a flea market, then a stray who'd been visiting us ended up staying, then a friend of my adult daughter was being evicted during the Eviction Moratorium of 2020 and we took 2 of her 4 kittens off her hands, so yes- we also have 5 cats.

Polari3 AJ same, it depends of the cat I guess. They are very independent and if they don't like you you can't make them.
I have 7 cats,half of them rescued from streets, some ignore me or don't like to be touched some seem to have a split personality or drastic mood changes, some don't have a favorite in the family but I have one that seems that can't live without me gets depressed when I'm out and spends the day sleeping in my bed , runs to the door (always) when I come back from university to receive me, basically spends all the day with me. Except the night having insomnia cats disturb me at night so I send him with mom XD so the poor baby spends some time trying to enter and scratching the door it breaks my heart really...
So if this is not love someone must explain me how else an animal can express it. Because it's not like he's attached to me because of the food (my mother feeds them all at the same time).

I adopted a cat because I was staying with my mom and her dog doesn't get along with other dogs. I had never had a cat, wasn't really fond of cats before. I didn't know what to expect and now he's my baby. He travels with me, he just melts my heart.

Cat Pillow i don’t hate cats perse, its just that cat owners let them run around outside day and night so although i didn’t choose to own a cat i now am obligated to have about six of them from the neighbours ,hunting after nesting birds, eating the baby hedgehogs in my garden etc.
Thats what i hate. You want a pet. Fine. But keep them in your own yard don’t bother the neighbours with them.

Grew up with both. I will never forget how loyal dogs are but I cannot compare them to one another, cat's have their own charchater that's what makes them so special.

My mom refused to get a cat for YEARS convinced it would be a terrible experience and that she didn't like cats. Our dog passed away and we wanted a pet but had no time for a puppy so I finally convinced her we should get a kitten. She went from passively tolerating him to scooping him up and giving "her baby" kisses at every possible opportunity. He may be her favorite child now😖She says it didn't make sense to her before but she now understands why people love cats so much. I do too, I kind of just vaguely thought having one would be fun but now he's my homie and we all love him to death.
Almost everyone I've met that says they hate cats, end up with one and fall in love with it lol. Not only that,
they will defend it like a family member.
Cats only turn evil if you sit there and annoy them. And if you raise them right they won't even hurt you when they are annoyed. My cat is a total sweet heart and if I even annoy him he very gently bites you, it doesn't leave a mark and you can't even feel it. If he scratches he does it by accident (like when he's playing or if he gets freaked out)
