Hello Phil. It was boxset galore for me in the past months. I just grabbed the Bursting Out Inflated Édition from J-Tull, the Deluxe Edition of Yes’ Fragile, Robin Trower’s Bridge of Sigh’s 50th Anniversary boxset... and I just grabbed the Ten Years After 1967-1974 boxset just for 40$ CAN at a used record store here in Montreal. Great times. 😊

Hello Phil. Deep Purple has numerous live albums with most of them being very good, but their 2CD set "Live in Rome, Italy 2013/7/22" is truly a cut above. A high quality recording with a flawless and energetic performance.. DP fans really need to check this one out...The world is quite a dark place these days, so keep up the positive work.
Just re listened to my Who San Francisco live 1971 from the Who's Next box set of vinyl. Then I went to my 3 vinyl set of YES live from the Apollo (Anderson, Rabin & Wakeman) such killer live shows!!
Just back from seeing Stevie nicks at Hyde park FANTASTIC and for first time in year I been buying vinyl again mainly the black crowes and u2 and some Bob Marley I not bought vinyl mainly in 20 years I been a cd collector but it feels right any sights to get reasonable priced second hand vinyl I feel energised by vinyl again like I’m back in 1988 great show bud multi format is the way to go thank you 🎸👍🏼🍺🏴

I have pre ordered the new DeepPurple limited box set and finally got an original In The Court of the Crimson King LP. I also started playing Steve Miller Rock Love that I got given to me when I bought some HiFi equipment from a local guy , no covers , they were ruined in a roof leak tragedy , years ago. I was given over 200 LP's from Yes , to Cream & a lot of 70's American bands , you name it it's there , what a fun journey to play these albums , by bands I have not bothered to listed to before.

Hi Phil, Looking forward to the John Cale "SHIP OF FOOLS" cd box set on Esoteric/ Cherry Red records 16August 2024. It features John's three Island records albums. I have the 2cd Island years from 1990s but this new version I think should be improved sound. I hope you do get this box set as those Island years are fabulous.
For the last week or so, i was completely hooked on the re-release of Pagan Altar's "The Time Lord". This albums features the earliest recordings of the band from the late 70s. If you like doom metal - go get it!
I already have! Great choice I really like Pagan Altar. Bumped into the bass player Diccon Harper a few years ago by complete accident at an archery lesson(he`s a fully qualified archery instructor). Very nice guy!
Hi Phil, had a couple of parties/get togethers recently and enjoyed putting together two separate playlists. Quite a variety with everything from Bucks Fizz to Deep Purple. By myself (on the rock side) I`ve been listening to Creeper`s latest album, Loverboy`s `Lovin` Every Minute` and Swallow The Sun`s `Songs From The North`. However I`ve also played a lot of 70`s pop including Cassidy, Bay City Rollers, Slik, Showaddywaddy, Glitter Band and others. The group I`ve been enjoying most pop wise recently have been The Dooleys, particularly the first two albums. Great pop music very well produced and the secret weapon The Dooleys had was Bob Walsh on bass guitar who I think was very good indeed! Quick mention about Slade...starting to worry BMG have now stopped reissuing Slade albums as it`s been quite awhile since the last two earlier this year. Hope I`m wrong!

Roxy music, Barry white, the kinks, the who, the undertones, the rolling stones, funkadelic, burt bacharach, nina simone, blue beat box sets, yardbirds, dr feelgood, lee scratch perry, Jackie mittoo, Augustus pablo, t tex, 10cc, yes, E.L.O. , black sabbath, Deep purple, Queen, the jam, the police, Neil diamond, the doobie brothers, Genesis, John lee hooker and some. That's spinning for your health, big time and loving it.
My most recent purchase was by Les Big Byrd, a band hailing from Sweden. I would describe them as Krautrock, though not as deep as say Guru Guru. The title is Diamonds, Rhinestones & Hard Rain. This is my 2nd CD from this band, and I'm really getting into them. Check them out sometime! Thanks, Phil !

Just got 3 Alice cooper vinyl box sets killer schools out and billion dollar babies Also new cats in space live on double white vinyl One of the best live albums I’ve heard in a long time.As usual with this band the packaging is fantastic It’s like a classic 70s live album with loads of live shots.Will you be reviewing this I hope so

Just picked up the Van Halen deluxe edition of for unlawful carnal knowledge.Really glad I did.Highly recommend.Also both Frehley’s comet albums on vinyl.

Hi Phil, I've been cranking the remastered vinyl reissue of Teaser by Tommy Bolin and Jethro Tull's Bursting Out. Hopefully a vinyl copy will follow. One wonders what Tommy would have achieved he he could have shaken his addiction. Later in the month, Songs For A Tailor by Jack Bruce is also being reissued. I've had it on pre order for some time.
The TKO boxed set is pretty good. Not heard the group before. Not the sort of stuff I would buy - a hair band! But it's quite energetic and rocky. Don't think too hard, and turn it up! Have a listen if you haven't heard it, Phil. 😉

My English teacher introduced me to Neil Young back in '76 when I was 16, and his music has been a constant companion since then - my favourite guitarist too. You've never mentioned him (not to my knowledge anyway) so I'd be interested to know what, if any, encounters you've had with him music.
One from Jazz In Britain, Fingers - The Complete Fingers Remember Mingus and the other is The Meters - Gettin' Funkier All The Time (The Complete Josie/Reprise & Warner Recordings 1968-1977). Both are worth reviewing.
So far this July I’ve purchased in vinyl, Paul Weller, The Korgis, Louis Armstrong, The Blossom, along with Dakota Stanton. Lastly a three CD set of soul music and Sorry Phil, no heavy rock for you to enjoy. 🤣🤣🤣🥺

Can you please listen and review the band "Well Well Well" Dangerous Dreams, it's difficult to get the album now but I'm sure you have contacts, this is my favourite, means so much. Discovered it on the radio when believe it or not played by the great Jimmy Young.
I get that Phil doesn’t want to upset potential musicians who he might like to interview but surely he needs to be objective and critical of albums to give viewers his true honest opinion about albums rather than being afraid of updating bands / singers of said albums For example Phil has waxed lyrical about the new Judas Priest album saying it’s their BEST ever ! I’ve bought this album following his glowing endorsement and was disappointed to find that’s not true ,well at least in my mind/opinion it isn’t Surely sometimes music is about passion and opinions so what’s the point of a reviewer sitting on the fence about an album . If you watch another music podcast Sea of Tranquility they never sit on the fence and they say it as it is
Hi Christopher, you don’t have to talk about me in the third person, I’m here :) I am always off the fence and telling the truth about how I feel. I have had rants about the packaging and execution of some releases if I think fans are being ripped off. I do still think the new Judas Priest album is their best and it featured in my ranking video of the band at the number one spot. I’m not afraid of upsetting musicians but do not see the point of covering something I do not really like. I love the Sea of Tranquility channel and have done quite a few joint videos with Pete. All of my videos are based on my personal feelings and opinions about the music I listen to. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment - Phil :)

Gladly, some of Jethro Tull's 40th anniversary editions are back in print so I ordered the Aqualung cd set for an excellent price.

Just listened to Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes live at the Greek great album
I've been having a purge on building up catalogues on bands I've lost track of over a troubled past few years. Finding again is all down to the likes of yourself. Thanks for that. Now looking forward to Deep Purple =1 out this week. Get the feeling this could be pretty damn good.
I’ve actually been selling some records off (stuff that’s never played, still hard to part with) and on a bit of a boxset binge right now.
Listening wise the latest Sabbath boxset keeps getting repeat spins :)
Can you please listen and review the band "Well Well Well" Dangerous Dreams, it's difficult to get the album now but I'm sure you have contacts, this is my favourite, means so much. Discovered it on the radio when believe it or not played by the great Jimmy Young.
BCC V is fantastic....also have been digging Free quite a bit lately (Chronicles and Free Live). When can we expect your Deep Purple =1 review?

I get that Phil doesn’t want to upset potential musicians who he might like to interview but surely he needs to be objective and critical of albums to give viewers his true honest opinion about albums rather than being afraid of updating bands / singers of said albums
For example Phil has waxed lyrical about the new Judas Priest album saying it’s their BEST ever !
I’ve bought this album following his glowing endorsement and was disappointed to find that’s not true ,well at least in my mind/opinion it isn’t
Surely sometimes music is about passion and opinions so what’s the point of a reviewer sitting on the fence about an album .
If you watch another music podcast Sea of Tranquility they never sit on the fence and they say it as it is
Hi Christopher, you don’t have to talk about me in the third person, I’m here :) I am always off the fence and telling the truth about how I feel. I have had rants about the packaging and execution of some releases if I think fans are being ripped off. I do still think the new Judas Priest album is their best and it featured in my ranking video of the band at the number one spot. I’m not afraid of upsetting musicians but do not see the point of covering something I do not really like. I love the Sea of Tranquility channel and have done quite a few joint videos with Pete. All of my videos are based on my personal feelings and opinions about the music I listen to. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment - Phil :)
