- My review of Starlink after using it for the past 6 months. In this video I discuss my experience under the following headings:
- Durability
- Speed
- Performance when it's raining
- Pricing
- User Experience - Věda a technologie
Sorry, that will be 2.4GHz and 5GHz, not 4G and 5G. Thanks 😊
Is there yearly plan?
I have had starlink for almost a year. I use about 2TB+ per month and this is the only ISP that has true unlimited internet. When it starts raining heavily, the dish adjusts to the nearest satellite and I get access in less than 10mins. Initially I got speed around 200MBPS but currently I get 100MBPS+. It has high lantency/ping though if you are a gamer depending on your location. In terms of my overall experience, I pay for starlink first and I use mtn 5g as backup.
Honestly one of the best reviews, a lot of people spoke down on this some months back and havent followed up! Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Nice for the info. So, do you use the roam service? I mean when you are away from home are you able to use the service on your mobile? I read it works up to 15miles away
Kindly confirm
There is now Starlink Business, does anyone know if it's better than one for personal/home use. Kindly help review this soon if you can.
Thank you for this review. Please what’s the ping and latency of starlink?
The ping/latency fluctuates a lot but it's an average of 20-70ms. Mostly 30-50ms
For those living in rural areas that don't have access to either fast cable broadband or fiber broadband. Using a service like Starlink could very well be the only choice if they want internet access at a decent speed. But the monthly cost for the service will be more than your typical home broadband over cable or fiber.
We live in rural areas. We have fiber optic internet but it's 32 dollars a month. And it's maximum speed is 30mbps.. but it shuts down when there is a power interruption 😊
Then that's not rural enough 😅
I ve had mine for over a year, it will defrade when its raining, those are the times i switch to my airtel or mtn 5g but even at that the 5g degrades a but to for the rains. There was a period of congestion but it later improved. Residential stabdard is the best for Nigeria at the price but those who need more can upgrade to the priority.
thanks for the knowledge
Hello, thanks for your review. I have a quick question. Is the N38000 plan responsible for your >100mbps speed?
Yes, you can get that speed. But the speed doesn't stable. You can test your speed get 110mbps then, try it again get 55mbps or 140mps. But generally you will enjoy the speed.
Best review so far, smooth talker
Thanks Chief 🙂
how can I get one to buy ?
Thanks a lot for the review
Can it be used by multiple people at the same time
How do we order this gadget.
it's not 5G and 4G, it's 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz wifi signals. Different frequencies and range. For Wifi, 5Ghz is better but covers only a small area and doesn't so well when there's a wall. The 2.4Ghz is the common option everywhere and covers a wider range/area.
You're right
How many devices can be connected at once please?
@@leanr1743 I believe it's 100 devices max
I was looking for this comment so bad!! I was surprised when he said it means 5g and 4g. That exposed his tech IQ. We learn every day, but it's better to use Google before making a classic video like this because some viewers don't read comments.
Nice correction
How can we get it in Cameroon?
Useful info.............i been wondering iflatency is good enough to play live racing games or poker etc.. also. how does itw orkwith ip address? again something like poker is very country specific
Sorry am coming late. I hope to get your urgent reply because am trying to get it in Delta state. I live in Warri to be precise
what about jumia as a third party vendor
Very informative.does it work well in Abuja
You're welcome. It does work well
Can i configure my residential starlink device to a switch connected to computers and unifi radios in my business facility (hospital)? If yes, how efficient will it be.
Yes you can
Weldone with your review. One question though, I just set-up my Starlink yesterday and I've been getting between 10-20Mb/s and I'm not sure why this is the case. Can you please advise?
For the past week or so they haven't been performing at optimal levels probably because of a lot of cloudy weather we get these days. Also, mine had a similar cold start. Just give it time
Weather doesn't effect my Starlink at all. I live in the rainiest state of the United States. When the rain is falling I have internet always. Depending on your location depends on what ground stations starlink is using. In the future satellites are all going to be equipped with technology to speak satellite to satellite. It will get much better in the future. Give it time and your speed should increase.
Are you using it around your registered service area? That can significantly affect your speed levels.
Are you still getting low-speed? You can try to use an ethernet cable to mesh with a router line T-link Mesh router to improve the speed and leniency of your Starlink.
Mines perfect and so is my Dads , my speeds are way over 500 ,the start up cost sucked but everything works perfect
Do you live in a rural area and do you game I’m thinking of getting it but I’m not sold
Hello DevTalk, nice running into your channel, are you based in Nigeria?
Yes I am
5ghz & 2.4ghz not 4g. It is the spectrum. Nice review
Yes
Boss please upon my first purchase or installation of the starlink kit..
Does it come with internet access immediately or I shall have to pay for the monthly subscription? And how do I pay for the subscription please. I want to get one
I think I got a month free. You can always pay through your account that you setup on their site. You add a card and they charge automatically
I want to buy starlink in Zambia. They just started offering it. I want to use it to sell to ten users at a university or residential area. Please let me know if its possible. Im doing research before i buy
I'm in Kitwe, Zambia, just ordered my kit
I paid a deposit for Starlink three months ago received a receipt and since then nothing. I live in Abuja
Some people waited for 8months. E go reach you
I paid for mine in June and just received an email today that mine is ready to be shipped
Can we pay with Naira card now straight from their website? Also how is the internet now? Whats the ping like? can it be used for Gaming?
I paid for mine using my naira card
@@amandasokei And did they charge in Naira or in dollar? Like did they deduct the exact amount shown on their website or more? Which bank card did you use, please?
They charged in naira, the same amount on the website. The internet has worked perfectly for me and can be used for gaming. I use Access Visa card. They accept visa and Mastercard but not Verve
@@amandasokei thanks for this
@amandasokei also can you resub when you are out of data?
It says it has a range of 2,000 ft sq, by my calculation that should be as far as maybe 5-8 street away from any street, can this be a right assumption ?
It's slightly smaller than the average single family home in the U.S.
2000 square feet is a mid sized apartment. You won’t get connection much past 15m in distance or through a wall.
Thanks great info
How long does it take to download something of 15 gb plus
It took me 10-15mins to download 33gb file.
That’s so fast bro lol ….it takes me 4 days to download such with normal internet network
if we assume a stable 150 mbps, downloading 15GB will take about 13 minutes
You'd think that but no
@@wisdomodafi3004cap guy😂😂😂
This happens with all satellite connection but star link is unbelievably better then other sat providers with speed and stability.
Please how can I pay for monthly subscription?
Once you add a card to your account, they'll charge you from there
Boss please i want to confirm about the data usage, because i am currently using a different company and they have different packages, i just paid for 30k unlimited monthly subscription but in just 10days i have used up my speed allocation and now i am back to a slow speed.... so i want to confirm with this 38k you pay, whats the data usage, like how many gigs did they allocate to you and have you ever had the experience that you finished your allocated speed and then your mbps fell down to a lower range thereby slowing down your internet speed???
The 38k is an unlimited plan. My speed has never dropped due to usage.
Okay thanks for that
Star link is on Jumia
Is it a 110v or 220v Hardware?
Obviously 220
Hi, thanks for your review... I just want to find out if you have tried using one account on multiple starlink devices? Or must each device set have an independent account?
I haven't tried but I don't think it's possible. I believe it's one account per device, the devices are even tied to a location
@@DevTalk so if a person wants to relocate, the device becomes useless?
@@nelsonpeter7076 there might be a way to switch location if the current location is not maxed out yet
Thanks so much dear @devTalk..
Please can you purchase for me?
Please how far can i be from my router whats the coverage like
Wide enough, I still get my signal 2 houses away from mine
@DevTalk one last question is it possible for me to use a Starlink as ISP for my hotel guests if so how?
@@goldnwobu2744 I believe you can. You want to be able to issue temporary passwords for guests?
@@DevTalkcan the internet work for about 4 to 6 house from the starlink building
Lmao. I just bought this and I am unable go set it up🤣 I can’t activate my account. For some weird reason it just keeps hanging when i put my address.
Have you been able to sort this out yet? I may be able to help as I faced a similar issue when I got it 3 days ago.
@@Ehcade hi, yes I did. All i did was choose the roaming plan as opposed to the residential and it worked. Thanks.
nice
At 200 mbps for USD$25/month that is lower that what many of us are paying in the US for similar speed. 🤷♂
Pole sana
My friend bought starlink and had horrible speeds. His cable was both quicker and cheaper, that is why he switched back
Does your friend live in a rural or a built up area? Satellite internet tends to struggle in built up areas
Q - I live in Libya. I was going buy it, one step stope me it is Billing information what is ( NIN ) ?
I have mastercard....
NIN: national identity number
There's a place called computer village in Lagos, Nigeria yiu can get it there and it will be sent to you.
@@adulateSo you are recommending a NIN for a non Nigerian? You're supposed to be old enough to know this is wrong na.
@@mizta_pita no. I am only telling him he can get starlink at computer village. I should have been clearer.
I pay 45 CAD/month for an unlimited plan with 100 Mbps speed. It's more than sufficient for streaming on Netflix and Amazon, as well as handling my tasks. I don't understand why people opt for pricier options.
Where I live at, we’re are considered the end of the line for every service provider and cell reception can be ok with only 10mbps and there 2-3 times a week where even that drops off to nothing. One compnay has been saying they’ll be upgrading to fiber in the next few weeks for the past two years. We’re tired of not having a good interent connection. We have family who work remote and the internet is basically their lifeline.
People pay higher amounts if they are downloading a lot of large files and if they are uploading larger files frequently. Heavy data users. You're an average user
Is the unlimited, totally unlimited or with speed throttling
True unlimited
1TB Unthrottled, after 1TB used, fair usage applies.
please what card are you using for your starlink
payment?
Am also having problem with the payment method for the subscription in Starlink since it has been changed to Naira
Use Chipper, I ordered on 26th Dec 2023, got it on 3rd Jan 2023. The delivery time is now 3 days

You understand the English language very well. However; you are a CZcams influencer. You are trying to deliver a message. Your thoughts and words are spoken so quickly it comes off as one long phrase with no pauses. Slow down and pause after each phrase. Your audience will be more engaged with your content. Your knowledge can be shared with many and people will follow you because of this, but you can do it at 200 mph. Thank for your content!!

For goodness sakes, stay away from this company, if possible. If your service goes down, you may be in for the most frustrating, incompetent, ridiculous customer service possible. I will be contacting the Texas attorney general to get my equipment back. Starlink has no right to keep my equipment. I paid $649 for that equipment. It isn't theirs to keep.
What happened? I know that Costumer Service used to be bad and non existent in some cases, but is that still the case?
lol
Lol you can say that about anything you "rent"like modems
@@kirarakurokawa8747 Oh. You mean like when you rent a modem they wait days before replying? Do your mean when you rent modem, you can't contact them using a phone, or an email, or chat? Do you mean that when you rent a modem it can take nine months to resolve your problem? You mean when you rent a modem you pay $649 it, and when they tell you to ship it back to them, they initially tell you that they aren't going to give you any of the $649 you paid for the equipment? I guess you are right then.
In the uk they now do a rental service so the huge upfront cost isn't needed ive always wanted to try starlink even if it don't work for me i know i have wasted hundreds of pounds @@jeffkustes8563
