Hello love your video, my canary laid 3 eggs a few days later i checked her nest she ate them all i looked at a few videos which have been a great help, fake eggs never knew i had to replace them, i now have 4 in a seed pot heating with cotton wool, shes been sitting on fake eggs i feel terrible there not her babies i am just trying to keep the eggs safe, when do i put the real ones back in the nest have had them for a week, not sure now if there fertile now i am just learning new at this, what are the breeding seasons when do they end will she lay again the male sits also on the nest when she feeds they made the nest together which i provided shredded paper cotton from pet shop and my dogs fur which she kept taking just like some help thankyou k
Yeah as soon as she lays her 4th egg then you should swap and put all Of the real eggs back into the nest and take out the fake ones. It may be too late and the eggs aren’t fertile anymore. Just remove the fake eggs from the nest and she will start laying again within 1-2 weeks and you can repeat the process.
I just subscribed,ihave a new set of Gloster canaries they were supposed to be 8 mos but the female just layedan egg this morning,i haven't got a clue but i am concerned about whether to feed the baby or let nature take care of it because the parents have the right balance for nutrition,
Canaries can become sexually mature before 12 months of age. You can let them do their thing. Usually for young birds it may take a couple tries for them to get it right so don’t give up on them if this first clutch isn’t successful.
Hi there My glosture canaries mated but all eggs where not fertile...can you plz give me some advice?Ive seen some breeders do cut the vent feathers to increase success.
Yes you could cut the feathers in front of the vent to help with fertilization. Is your male singing loud and very frequently everyday? If not he may not be in belted if condition and that could be the reason for the infertility.
It may be that your male is not in breeding condition. You may also need to pull her nest to discourage her from laying more eggs if she’s been doing it all winter
Try and separate them. Give them a week or 2 apart. Take nest out for a week. Give the hen a nest again on her own with nesting material. If she starts building or picking it up and storing it at the back of her beak, then you can put the cock back in. Best of luck for the breeding season

Thanks for subscribing! Yes local pet stores I am not aware of any local breeders in your area. You could check Craig’s list for any local breeder. There are breeders in Texas and Florida that do ship. I live in utah and do sell my birds but I don’t ship them.
Hey so I buyed 1 male red mosaic and 1 female phaeo canary and my female canary layed 4 eggs but they r not fertile I checked its been 14 days so what do I do with those eggs and should I take off nest and remove eggs ? My male only sing in morning some times should i move them in different cages ? So they maybe can be pair ? Right now they r in same cage no fighting

my young yellow beuty has been sitting on eggs 24x7 for almost 1 mo.when do i get her out of nest
If she’s been sitting for a month then the eggs will not hatch. Pull the eggs out and let her try again. Canary eggs should hatch around 14 days.
My female’s eggs are never fertile! She’s been laying eggs all winter too. Feel awful for her.
