Hi Love Your Videos and your beautiful variety of birds, i am a newbie and just starting out i have a male and female canary ready for nesting, i have put in a covered type nesting box you hook up at the outside of the cage not the open pots, but she wont go in there, she started the pot nests she was adding the nesting materials to it, but i changed it to the nest box that is more enclosed what do you suggest i do please thankyou kay
This is common for canaries. I typically have a male to two females most of the time. I do keep the females separate though and just rotate the male between them.
hi I have a red factor the hen laid a couple of eggs the male sits on the eggs and feeds the hen but sometimes they get into fights , is this normal behaviour or what should i do ?

Canaries breed better in the nesting pans and not the closed nest boxes. I would change it back to the nest pan that you had earlier.
I want a mosaic and red factor pair! #SHIP
I didn't know you could have two females with the 1 male - any issues or is this common? thanks.

@birdnerd sorry keeping them separate? I saw all three together. So how do you keep them separate?
Top my friend
Thank you 👍
Hey I have a question I have 3 males that started molting this week is this ok? I was hoping to breed them this seasone
If they are molting they most likely won’t breed until their molt is over.

Yes sometimes they will still bicker a bit. If it gets too aggressive take the male out ant let the female hatch and raise the chicks herself.
Hi I just started with canaries I need a male baby if you get any I have 2 females
I want to buy some canaries
I am selling by overstock from last years breeding.
