Actually that's tricky too now, since my female canary learned to sing like a male, and i'm 100% sure she's a female because she laid eggs. But her songs are as wonderful and perfect as a males!
Thank you for sharing this video , I learned alot :) I just got my mom a pair of canaries 1 week ago female and male, the male is bright orange really beautiful and the female yellow also beautiful I love canaries but i can't have them right now, the male hasn't sing yet but it's okay we hope they have some babies later on!
Thank John for sharing this video. You are a true Champion!! Look forward to more videos from you. I also hope that one day I will visit you in Volos and learn more of your techniques as you know what its all about. Na Zisis palikari!!!

Wow, that was enlightening. - Very informative & educational I'm building a birdcage for a friend and I wanted to learn a little more about these types of birds. Thank you, I've learned a lot from this video. Well done! .
Exceptional video. Super informative. I'm just wondering though, when you remove the early eggs, how do you keep them before returning them to the nest all together to ensure simultaneous incubation? Thanks for the upload you have beautiful birds!!
This is by far the best video I have seen about the time light of canary breeding. I had a question about the time the firs hatching of babys are born and the time the second hatchings start but this video has explained everything very well. Thank you very much P.S my canarys are 4 days old

Bravo and nice video....I've been trying to couple Gloster crown hen with male (no crown) but I have problems 1st time 6eggs from which 4 fertiled the first hatched lived 2 days....I see the boy doesn't really wanna do nothing else except eat......I don't know I was told that they aren't sister and brother but.....now the boy is on diet and I let the girl to fix the nest in peace on her own with lots of vitamines and egg as well as eggshelves. If there is again high rate of baby death should I just stop trying? To be sure if crowned girl is mixed with normal canary can it still make crowned babies (of course the Gloster bloodline dies in there)? Nice information video for us dummies and good luck for your this years babies. Kali sarakosti XD

@misalouris
If you allow the male to mate with the female will succeed.
Good effort ...
Thank You sir,this is well done. One Problem,however ist not mentioned. What to do with the numerous offsprings? One can not Keep them all.
Absolutely.You certainly have some problems when the female will build a new nest and hatcing the eggs
