Hello Gino, Thank you for all of your kind words brother. Please keep liking and watching!
I'm 63 with a lot of time on my hands. I learn so much from your videos. I'm in the process of doing my old Lazy Boy set and doing pretty well with it as a result of what you're teaching us. Just awesome. I watch so intentely and sometimes I have a question and sure enough... if I watch enough, you''ll answer it. Today I saw you lock stiching on the 1st half sewing midway down an edge seam and then not lock stiching when you turn it over to so the other half. I asked myself why he didn't lock stitch it? Then later on in the video you discussed starting the sewing a little behond the middle on the second half to safe time and no need for the starting lock stich. WIth enough of your videos, "I won't be that guy!' haha

Be honest with us, you're really just youtubes top china marker salesman. Really cool of you to save the customers project. I've never worked with the gator leather, looks like one might have to order way extra to get a good matching job done (if you cant pick it out in person).

So, an alligator only has one belly and one back. If I were to sort the pattern - I would have ensured there was only one of each per panel. But then, this is going into a rat-rod. So, I am assuming no one will really notice that. Glad to see you back in action. Merry Christmas!

When top stitching, you might want to check your bobbin thread first.
Hello User, Funny thing is I have been doing this 44 years. Sometimes I do check, (when I remember to). Sometimes after a long time of sewing with a huge bobbin, I find I run out. Bummer. Hehe Please keep liking and watching!
I sure enjoy all of the tips you give us. Maybe one day I will tackle a simple upholstery job. The top stitch looks like a real bear to make when there are multiple layers of material to sew through. The customer has to be super happy with their seat now. Wonder why they cut the panels so small though. Hope your holidays are going well and you have the best of New Years.
Hello By, yep, it does get more difficult with thicker layers. I would like to wish you a Happy New Year as well. Please keep liking and watching!
Another great video! What size hog rings do you normally use? Thanks so much for bringing us into your shop, you make it look so easy!
Hello Steve, You are so welcome! Thank you for saying so. I just use a standard size hog ring that is sold by an upholstery supplier. After 44 years, I did not know there are different sizes. I am Old School I guess. Please keep liking and watching!
Nice seats and again excellent techniques minus the technique numbers. Here's a number technique # 376 fold the seam the one side while top stitching.
Also not so happy with the way you're closing the videos. Maybe a review of what we just saw and learned.
Hello Richard, I understand. I can't please all of the people all of the time. The truth is, when people know the end of the video is coming, they click off. If you notice, I have no intro, not outro, and seek no sponsors. I do not want to waste anyone's time. Right to it, then a quick end. On to the next one. I hope you understand. Please keep liking and watching!
Thank you for going through all the work to share your knowledge. I’m working on my own project car so am watching and learning from quite a few upholstery artists. Your one of the few with true detail but I’ve noticed you don’t discuss stretch, is that because you’ve found it to be less important or are you doing it on autopilot? No criticism in any way just curious for my own work.
Hello Ben, You are so welcome! I am sure you will do just fine with your project car. I am often guilty of working in auto pilot for sure. I would say that stretch while sewing, is less important. Like I always say, not rocket science. It is just better to have the same tension pull on both the top and bottom materials. Please keep liking and watching!
Tighter than Dick’s hat band. Nice job, as usual!
Hello Marth, Thank you so much for saying so! I really appreciate you. Please keep liking and watching!
I didn't care for colors but a very good technique.Thank you sharing the knowledge. What would a plane seat repair run?
Hello 636, You are so welcome! You mean aircraft or airplane seat? Please keep liking and watching!
Where does someone looking to diy some seats get supplies like the thread, foam, and leather? Also is it just a regular sowing machine? Do you have a complete guide from start to finish on redoing entire seats?
Hello Ajp, Try to Google "Upholstery supplier near me" for materials. For upholstery it is best to use an industrial sewing machine. I do have many videos showing how to upholster many things as well as a lot of different type of seats on my channel. Please keep liking and watching!
What stitch length are you using on the vinyl? Just thinking back on all the vinyl factory seconds. I could’ve bought from the Uniroyal plant in town years ago and now they just destroy the stuff.
Hello User, For stitching together vinyl pieces, I use setting 5-7. For top stitch, I use 7. Please keep liking and watching!
What size needle, thread and bobbin size do you use if you don’t mind sharing.
Hello Steve, I only use T92 thread for my industrial sewing machine. 134x17 needles. My machine uses prewound "U" bobbins. But I can use smaller bobbins. Please keep liking and watching!
What size hog rings do you use to upholster seats? working on a 63 impala.
Keep up the good work my friend I’m learning a lot watching your videos.
Hello Vic, Thanks for hanging in there with me. I am sure you will do just fine with your '63 Impala. I never knew there were different size hog rings. Is there? For 44 years I have ordered the same standard hog rings from my upholstery supplier. Please keep liking and watching!
