We have the New Tundra TRD PRO, my wife decided to get the new ranger XLT for her, Very Happy with our decision, Nice interior, seats are extremely comfortable, and quick,Ford did a great job
There's a couple old Lariats in my area for $30k max, since the new Ranger is even more outside my price range than the new Frontier that I'm looking at. Ford does make nice trucks that can last despite the long-term ridicule.
I do have a soft spot for the Ranger since I have an older one. However, the rear seat folding/storage design is horrendous! Why not make it a 60/40 split???? Say whatever you want about the Ridgeline, but in this area as well cabin space, they have the competition beat.
Had the 2019 Ranger, no issues, put 75k on it. Wasn’t confident in 100k+ miles, so decided to trade it in. Wanted to go V6 NA and stay away from turbo. Went 2023 Tacoma. No regrets. If I had to go 24, would probably go Ford over GM, and given Toyota’s prices, and current reliability, would do another Ranger, with the extended warranty.

Ford & Chevy have really stepped up their game, it's like years of the past in which Toyota was rock solid. Plus with Ford & Chevy you can get a decent discount.

I had the 2.3 I=in 2019 Ranger. It has plenty of power especially if you don’t plan to pull anything larger than a 19 orv29 foot travel trailer. I traded it for a 2024 Ranger Raptor.

People harping on the 4cyl turbo in a midsize really need to get over themselves. This engine has been around for a while and a has a good rep, do your maintenance get it on the highway out of the city and it will be fine I have the 2.0 in my escape with almost 200k km and its been perfect minus a purge valve under a 100$ to fix and 20 minutes of time. After a 2hr drive the only way I can tell the engine is running is looking at the tach, besides I love it when I hit the gas and it launches me past the slower traffic on the highway. I prefer a key

Not a big deal you can add a rear locker on the configurator for around 500 bucks. Another 1K gets you the FX 4 package. Personally I'd get this truck with just the rear locker added to the 4X4 system. Probably have a nicer ride on tar sealed roads. But I hear they improved the dampening/ride allot from the last generation. Allot to like hear. Best seating position and rear leg room was improved here. Best in class comfort and class leading tow and bed capacities.
Test drove a 2024 Toyota Tacoma trd off-road and wasn’t impressed overall. Can ANY fourth gen Tacoma luver(s) out there convince me that this the sacred oath truck all the fanboys are praising continuously on the interweb because It just didn’t work for me as a great, dependable truck.😳
I’ve owned 3 Rangers in my lifeime and if I was in the market for a another midsize pickup, this would be at the top of my list, with the chrome package too 👍🏾.
Lost all interest in the new Ranger after driving it. Acceleration is weak, and the portrait mode screen is poorly placed. For $45k, the XLT model I tried felt very barebones. I’m sure the Tacoma is just as bad if not worse. The older gens are better buys.

Sounds a bit "tinny" when you shut the doors! For a $43K truck, it sure as hell does not sound solid, do not like the small engine and cloth seats for that price! Ford has gone nuts, stupid and that's why their vehicles are piling up on dealer lots! I would suckle on a porcupine before I pay $43K for that truck. Even when you pulled on the lever to open the hood, it dd not appear very solid, kind of flimsy! IF it were $32K or less, then I would think it's not a bad buy, but anything above $32K is too much.
