Nobody reads this far down...what are you doing down here?
My old CZ7 just died when checking out 1700's log home with grave yard. BUMMER, I think Wallmart carries this for about $330.00 dollars. I'm going to get it.
Might be the most bang for the buck out there.
Thank you for posting this video. I just received my Land Ranger Pro in the mail yesterday and have already started digging. Keep up the good work.
Awesome to hear Kevin! For the price...there is nothing that can compare to it. Best of luck with it.
After watching reviews and reading about this bounty hunter I decided to buy one. I didn't purchase new because there was a couple online that were used and in new condition for $100 less. I'm still trying to get use to the the controls. I really am not feeling the pin pointer on this. I have the Dr. Otek and the pin pointer on the Otek is much better. But hey as long as it gets me right above it I'm good. Can't wait to use it on my property up north. Good video thanks
I've had several higher end detectors and recently grabbed a Tracker IV for parks where I may lose it to confiscation and was very pleased. The tracker found clad quarters at 8" easily. Just brought it to AZ desert where my girlfriend is using it in the gold fields. Unbelievably, we set the sensitivity to the max and the machine performed flawlessly. No gold but several .22 fragments down 4-6 inches. Gonna do some more testing on this and see what else it will find. Great value for under $100.
"GB number the higher the mineral content in the soil/sand"
Is this true?
If one wants to "push" the limits the way to go is LOWER the number that the automatic GB sets?
(Example: the machine automatic GB at 60. I manually set it to less, 40 or something. More false signals but more depth)
In theory that is how it works...in practice...is another thing altogether. a 20 point GB phase shift would probably do more harm than good.
Just took out my 10+-year-old Discovery 3300 to compare some of the "air tests" and this is what I got: Penny 7.5"; Nickel 8"; Dime 7"; Quarter 8". Been thinking about buying the Bounty Hunter Land Ranger Pro since this has several features that the 3300 does not.
Hello Rick. The LRP will be quite a significant upgrade over the 3300. I think you would be quite pleased with it after running the 3300.
i do know i have learned a lot about this detector from these 2 videos and i don't get my land ranger pro till the 8 th of december. and i was expecting a pretty steep learning curve but you have leveled that a lot. buying this new machine means i can redo all the places i have done with with my bounty hunter tracker 4.
oldtimerocker52 Glad to be of help. Best of luck!
I went back to the park that I did some metal detecting earlier this week. I thought for sure that I wouldn't be as successful. Well, in about 6 1/2 hours I got 58 quarters, 34 dimes, 29 pennies, and 4 nickels and 1 token. Many quarters were 2 inches or less deep. Again no Wheaties or silver.
The trumpet playing in the back ground made the video!
lol...thanks for watching.
Very nice and in depth review! I bought this detector and you have helped me tremendously! Thank you!
My pleasure Brian. Thanks for watching and commenting!
This is an oldie but goodie. I still find the LRP my choice of go to..
I watched your review of the LRP, and was very impressed. I'm looking for a first metal detector, and wondered what you thought of the LRP as an option, or what else you might recommend.
I’m new to metal detecting and this is my second detector - both I’ve bought suck in mineralized soil. I live up on a Mesa in New Mexico and I get the same jumpy issue - I’m done digging holes in ROCK only to find rock. I’ve never gotten a steady signal except on things it claims it’ll rule out - like nails and cans. These things can’t hold a signal when you have incredibly mineralized soils. Very frustrating. Not fun at all.
Well to be fair, this is a $250 beginner to intermediate machine. It is a single frequency VLF running at 7.7khz on top of that. You will need either a higher frequency (14-20)....a multi-frequency...or a PI machine. Even the XP Deus cannot hit a 5-inch buried coin in Colorado nasty dirt with the stock coil...and it is a $1000 detector.
47:36 Apparently all Bounty Hunters do that: they get "tired" and stop to detect the target. Signal just seems to vanish.
In this soil, those 5 inch coins are all fringe depth. Even the mighty Deus and T2 could not penetrate deeper. Sometimes it takes the snapshot of the target...and sometimes it does not.
Hey GT on this land Ranger Pro a lot of people complain about the buttons maybe the pinpointer should that be a issue for making a decision on purchasing one of these
It can be a hard press...and there have been complaints of them not working. In the 5-6 I have used...Liberators as well...no hardcore issues. I did have an issue with my original LRP...but if I moved my thumb over it worked perfect. Think of them like microwave button switches. You have to hit it just right. I do know that if it ever straight up fails...First Texas will fix it for free.
I can say I do prefer the button on the Teknetics Gamma 6000 much more. I wish they were all like that one.
I would love to see you test a Harbor Freight nine function detector. Pretty sure you would be surprised.
I might have to check it out. Not a bad price and people seem to think it is decent.
I also owned a Land Ranger Pro. I am having trouble with the pinpoint button which is poorly constructed. I have to press it hard to get it to work. Sometimes it only works for a few seconds then it stops and goes back to the mode setting. I heard from other LRP owners who also have this problem. What is your take on this I wonder.
They are aware of the issue and will replace the button. Give them a call and they will be able to help. I have never been able to replicate the issue with the 2 I have used. PP button works perfectly.
Ya I finally got one and has the PP issue but I LOVE this detector...my gramma was so impressed with it he bought one as well lol
I'm very new to this. I don't even own one as of yet. I'm trying to find out what I what to buy under a $1000.00. question: the smaller the coil is better then a bigger one, how dose that work? I like the bounty hunter land ranger pro. but do I buy the 5" or the bigger one, or do I need both?
11 inch will do deeper...while the 5 in will separate targets and slice through minerals a bit better. It is a trade off. If I could only pick one I would probably pick the stock 11dd.
Deff off on the air test. I.E the quarter was solid 11.5 and u said 10.5 and bumped it down to 10. Maybe it's your pov angle. But it was like that on most. I know you said grain of salt ect. Anyways love your videos
It might have been the angle...not sure. It probably was 11.5 as it can reach nearly a foot for sure. Thanks for watching a loving the videos! Means the world to me!
Great video! TY. New to the hobby. Just bought this one last week. One part confused me in the manual on page 14. Under Ground section, second paragraph. "If only a black segment is displayed, with no faded segments, then the detector's ground setting is equal to the soil's Phase." Please let me know if you have an idea what there trying to say. Thanks, G
When ground balancing you will see black bars along the top of the LCD that correspond with the GB phase number. Often times you will see grey bars on the outside of the black bar. Once those grey bars go away and only the black bar is left.....and the double digit is steady....you are then properly ground balanced.
Which mode is the best? Deephest?
Would you recommend this or the F44? And then your pick (this or F44) over the Patriot? Thank you for your time.
Patriot > F44 > LRP
is this detector can detect gold or gold nuggets?
Yes for sure...depending on size.
do u have a review for the Bounty Hunter 3300?
I do not sorry.
Is there any way to descimnat out the titanium in my foot I'm not sure if I should buy one if that's going to be a problem?
Depends on how much you have in your foot. If it sets off a walk through then it might be a hassle.
@@thehuntergt thanks
Where is the pull tab?
Dang a foot for ring detection is pretty good
Subtract 25-30% in most types of dirt....up to 50% in bad dirt.
What's your recomended settings range on finding gold for my new land ranger pro?
TheHunterGT yeah for gold and silver what setting do you find best? If one would be lucky enough to find such items
@@cryptopartners9682 Gold will hit in the foil range...clear to the zinc penny range. If you want gold, dig everything above iron and under copper. So 16 to 65 range on the ID roughly
So is all metal mode the best to use? That way it detects coins and jewels both?
In my opinion all-metal is best used for very small object like earring backings and small gold nuggets. I find little to no use for it on most sites. I would rather just run it in a Disc mode with discrimination turned down.
TheHunterGT I ordered this one online. In coin mode does it detect gold coins? I mean I doubt I ever would find one, but let’s say by chance you came across a pre 33 gold coin. Would it register?
Will the LRP pick up a titanium ring?
Sure will...can't remember the ID on it but I tested that once per a request.
Does the jewelry mode mode pick up only silver and gold?
RL Blackwell Jewelry mode will just increase sensitivity to small objects and then disc out iron.
TheHunterGT oh I see. That would be nice if they had one that could do that so if you got a hit, you know it’s the real deal lol. I love your reviews man and I’ve been watching a lot of them to figure out what detector to get.To be honest I’ve been hunting with a bounty hunter prospector that I got as a gift in 2000 when I was 10 lol. It has served me well to be honest but I think I need to upgrade to something a little better now. I want to spend between 200-400 bucks. What would you recommend for parks and beaches? Or will I need to spend a bit more?
no headphone connection?
Yeah it for sure has one...bottom left side...with a close-able dust cover on it.
how much feet depth its recognize
On a coin...only 25cm or so. Something large...2-3 feet.
18:00 thats why is good to have kids with tetectors
