An excellent way to spend two hours! I was more than happy to see that both parts were together. Hats off to the author, Arthur Leo Zagat, for such a well written story. I swear back then the writers were masters of the English language. There’s so much slang today, and I’m sure they had it as well back then, but it was left out of of the written word. Outstanding job Dr Creepen! I know it must’ve taken you some time to get this completed for us, and for that I am grateful. Truly excellent work! Now, bring us some more cryptids and modern day death!! ☠️☠️☠️

I have to say, and I often do, there is just something about these old creative commons licensed stories that makes them stick out from all the rest. Please don't take this as an insult or even a criticism of more modern stories, I love those stories as well. Perhaps its the vocabulary, or the skill with which the language is wielded, but so far I've guessed every CC licensed story correctly within a few minutes of starting. I think its the adjectives particularly that stick out to me, and often the topic/story lines seem to be explored more in depth, more thought through, idk exactly Either way I love all of it, great job to all involved!!!
Here early enough (hopefully) to say that my favorite part of any Dr. Creepen story is the occasional **snap** "fucking hell, COME ON!" Edited to add that my actual favorite part is actually normally the story itself and that you're a genuinely good narrator lol

What? Too many things ruined this story from the start! Like, who burns pine indoors? It pops and explodes when it burns. Second, this woman was clearly not built for mountain life. I'm sorry I just picture someone who has little skills or knowledge of rugged mountain cabin living. I picked up on that right away. But Doc you did an amazing job as always with the delivery!

One thing you NEVER do is cry out " Who's there " You keep your ass QUIET, and why EVERYONE of the age of 7 and above should know HOT to use a GUN. Especially if you're in the country ! I have a handgun a rifle and a 7 inch Tanto blade within hand's reach of my bed, ( I'm a female ). My brother has numerous guns and ammo in his room, actually we have enough weapons and ammo to last a while. We also have numerous friends with weapons and ammo..................
Ok this could have been done in 35-40 minutes explains why it was so word saladly it's from the 40s. They had to make it so wordy for publishers and so people could spend more time reading them.
hoping the story Picks up at some point like about 45 minutes in and it's still quite slow and boring. Seriously so far all has happened in about 45 minutes span as she saw some dead people or zombies or something people. Whatever on chains and someone else was whipping them and one escaped they're looking for, and then she went to town and talked to people. That's all that's happened in over 40 minutes.
