  • Alright, things are getting really serious here! Time to start one of the biggest jobs of this bobber build. We will be tearing down this engine. First, we need to remove the crankcase covers and see how it is underneath these. This gives us access to the clutch, stator, and more. Then, we are opening up the rear cylinder part of the engine and removing everything including the piston. Quite a lot of parts to remove and keep track of. I have been relying a lot on the Honda service manual for this 93 VT600. It gives a lot of good information but not all and you still have to do the job yourself. ;-)
    In the next video, we will continue the disassembly of the engine and take care of the front cylinder as well as other parts. Stay tuned!
    Thanks for watching!

    Nothing wrong with the look of the stator dude,discolaration is normal from the warm oil, test it before you replace it, if you have a problem charging the battery than it's probably the regulator

      Thanks for letting me know! 😁 I am going to test the resistance of it in the coming week or so. Hopefully everything is good.

    Great vid bro … I’m rebuilding my 03 vt600 as well. If we’re tearing it all down might as well replace and make it all new 👍. Keep the vids coming. I know editing takes time but maybe a voice over ?

      Thanks! Nice to hear other people doing the same 😊 Yes, might as well. Some of these parts are going to take forever to clean 😆

    Good content bro!! I’m already suscribe and I already follow you on IG! I have a VT600CD and sometimes I look for videos and they are not so specific like yours!

      Thank you so much!! Your words and support mean a lot. I sometimes wish I got the Deluxe version like you, just for the chrome on the engine covers 😁

      @@zigmoto Sim, tenho uma shadow 600 também e tenho vontade de fazer o mesmo que você, desmontar ela inteira, quem sabe vendo seus vídeos tomo coragem.

      @@sergiohbb Salud from Texas, my friend. I have a 96 Honda Shadow 600 VLX CD. I ride everyday. No matter what. I hate social media so I only CZcams. But maybe I’ll upload a video someday. I just can’t risk my phone falling. But if I do a tear down like this I’ll record it too.

      It depends. Which part(s) are you referring to?

    Hello bro i'm having a hard time removing the flywheel nut on my VLX 600 can you give me an idea or a tip of how to remove it it's too hard and i think it's stuck

    • @zigmoto
      @zigmoto  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey! I haven’t remove the flywheel on mine, but it is probably as stuck/tight as the clutch basket nut that I removed in another video. You most likely will need to use an impact wrench if nothing else works.

      @@zigmoto cause i'm planning to remove and replace my timing chain so the ticking sound on my vlx 600 engine can go away and the flywheel nut is a big big challenge to me right now

      @alas were you able to remove the flywheel nut?

      @@zigmoto The manual says that it's a left hand thread bolt, i'm really having a hard time taking it off it's a pain in the ass

    • @zigmoto
      @zigmoto  Před 2 lety

      That means to get it loose you have to turn clockwise which is opposite of what other bolts normally do (right hand thread is most common). Have you tried an impact wrench?
