If you're not sure what it's about:
Here are the videos about this engine:

Try putting a reed valve from a two stroke on the intake side. It will not solve the oil consumption, but you may see an increase in compression as it appears your rotory valve has no mechanical means of dividing the compression chamber from the intake port.
I do have an idea to help compression seal better. Slot 2 opposing sides of the rotary valve chamber, and insert modified apex seals/springs from a mazda rotary engine. This way, the apex seals will press on the rotary valve, sealing the valve from the compression chamber, and helping to separate the intake/exhaust cycles. Continue to use 2 stroke fuel, to help lubricate the rotary valve and apex seals.
You are doing what I imagined years ago, it's just amazing to see the problems I imagined come to life.
Try liquid piston engines.
i think the way this engine is design it might be perfect for hydrogen gas
The issue was never about the fuel, but a sealing issue in the rotary exhaust. You need some rotary shaft seals to prevent top end oil from seeping into the combustion/exhaust chamber.
In the build video, you were smearing the rotary exhaust in oil, meaning you created a "Total-loss oiling system", meaning you must continuously feed it oil or the shaft seizes, ergo it smokes - A LOT, because it continually feeds and burns of the excess oil.
To (hopefully) prevent that, you need to design the rotary exhaust shaft with bearings and seals, however doing so is incredibly difficult, because of the fine tolerance, added with the risk of the heat from combustion expanding the shaft and seizing it. Unless, you can control how much the shaft would potentially expand, meaning you'd need to make it water cooled.
My understanding is that was one of the problems for manufacturers too, and one of the reasons why rotary engines never really caught on.
@@ct92404 is that the infamous apex seal I hear about on the dorito engines?
@@WhatsIncluded Lol yup I think that is indeed the same problematic seal.
And now I want a bag of Doritos...great.
I think if he can manage to seal it better and install some sort of way to adjust the timing by loosening a screw and moving something in a similar fashion of adjusting a distributor. Just to give it a little bit of retard and advance abilities of the timing. I think that would also help alot with the cold starts.
💯 agreed.. Also, this engine would benefit from a turbo. Not just as a power adder. Ideally, you'd put it on an aftermarket ecu as well.
It always takes time to fine tune something, especially a new engine. You sir, have an incredible gift! If I had 1% of your skill, I would be very happy! Thank you for sharing all of these wonderful videos.
He got there by doing it and failing. If you want to get a skill, go for it and fail often.
@@kleckerklotz9620 I agree. You can not succeed without trying. Failure along the way is how we learn.
I think it doesn't start until oil gets around the cam shaft... and the oil makes a better seal, so it can start. There MUST be another way to seal it better, but I don't know of a way. Maybe the oil seals they use on automotive engines? idk Please, don't give up. This is amazing.
So if we ever need a way for the Earth to adjust back down from "Zero Emissions" we can fire this up again lol
Its beautiful and well made, i loved watching you build it. Well done brother!
A lot of comments here especially the rotary shaft, if ever you will rectify or repair it soon it will become perfect do not stop like the other succesful men did before they became famous kudos bro, nice work!
Ma shaa Allah, It works great 👍👍👍👍👍
The comments in this CZcams can be reduced to cooling, lubrication/sealing, and, possibly, “aeration”.
It would be best to solve these issues without having to rebuild the engine. With that in mind I would suggest the following.
1. Regarding cooling. Figure out a way to run water over the cooing fins. Especially the fins around the valve shaft.
2. Regarding lubrication hand sealing. Start with half a bottle of well oiled gasoline and as the engine runs add straight gasoline until you are running without oil in the fuel.
3. Add a crankcase ventilation valve. Especially if, after number 2, the amount of smoke is reduced.
4. This requires some amount of rework, but less than cutting a new valve shaft. Reduce the amount of oil ports in the tube that feeds oil to the valve shaft. Make sure the oil ports are only placed over the “bearing” areas of the shaft.
5. If possible, reduce the oil pressure in the valve shaft oil tube. You may be getting so much pressure that oil is forced into the valve openings.
If any of these have a positive impact then you know that, if number 1, you need to redesign with a water jacket. If number 2, use straight gasoline. If number 4, then you might also consider an actual head on the top of the cylinder that cuts the valve shaft in half. This would allow you to but bronze oil bearing bushings along the valve shaft in the head, and Teflon seals in the shaft on each side of the bushings.
I really admire your ingenuity in bringing this project as far as you have, and hope you find the means to continue.
Cheers!

It's so well built and aesthetically pleasing I want it to work...
But even though it's not a success it's a very well built failure. Design and fabrication is top notch, the seals however were not able to keep the oil where it was supposed to be.
It's interesting that you managed to make something that looks like it could have come from a factory. Usually a prototype like this looks a lot cruder, less like an engine ready for use and more like a rig built to test ideas on. Just building it and getting it to actually run, however smoky, is a feat on it's own.
This is literally insane! Cool bro!
it works!😮
really nice project!! A tip from me. Use the special fuel Aspen 2 and it no longer smokes.
Add a little DDT or some other pesticide and you got a GREAT fumigation machine!
I still love how you thought outside the box on it! Awesome stuff!
perhaps try a 50:1 ratio and maybe lean the carb out more. pretty sure i saw dripping from the exhaust which would suggest way too much fuel/oil is going in, or perhaps it is falling out of suspension in the crank case
It would be interesting to know how many HP this engine produces. Also, I would like to see this engine to be used to power something you build.
amazing idea
I watched you build this ages ago, I loved that video just like all the other ones, thanks for sharing.
I’d love to see this in a small go kart or small car, it’ll be interesting to see what the engine’s performance and potential really is.
Try getting rid the oil supply to the head completely and rely solely on the oil in the fuel for the lubrication of the valve assembly
This is probably a notable suggestion, but the oil in the fuel will be less likely to reach the hot exhaust end of the rotary valve, where lubrication and cooling is especially needed.
Complete success in my book, as long as you learned from it. Thanks for the videos. They are inspiring to me.

still my heroes for making a engine in his garage. id could only dream of being able to do something like this. hell i couldnt take his garage an a working known working engjine an make one if i had all the parts layed out to copy.
Success-and no burnt out drills trying to start either👍
Good job bro im with you ❤
Vernier cam pulleys, twin rotary valves to adjust overlap etc. Tricky to stop sump oil from getting into the intake. Electronically Actuated solenoid valves will be the future. Then we can choose 2 stroke, or 4 stroke 😜 Koenigsegg is working on these
If it runs, it can be optimized. I hope you will come up with an idea to make it work better if you are still interested.
Mashallah love your works 🇬🇧🇧🇩🙏

Thank you so much 🤗
WOW You did it...
Thanks god your hard work pay of 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Turbo it my man... trust, it will run so much cleaner, smoother, and with more power.
We missed you guys!
You are a very good CZcamsr. ❤
That is so badass! I love the idea, anyway to reduce the oil burning? It would be cool to see it without 2 stroke oil. Maybe roller bearing rotary cam with sealing rings between the bearings and the ports to keep combustion gasses in the chamber
Yes.
Well done men
Amazing work! What is the tolerance required between the valve cylinder and the valve body? I plan to use your design for my project straight 6 engine. Thanks for your research and hard work!
I would love to see you guys try like E85 or maybe something with a bit higher octane rating.
This was an interesting comment. I was thinking AVGAS, 100 octane but then I remembered. The octane rating only means the gasoline is harder to ignite. Needs more compression. Higher octane won’t help.
It runs well, just needs a little refining. Synthetic oil at 50:1 would be a start 👍😊
Yes.
Proof of concept shows you idea at least works. I bet with some fine tuning better seals for the shafts the smoke issue will not be an issue. just make sure you patent your idea before some one steals it
I use to race snowmobiles that had a rotary valve engine. There was bearings and seals on the shaft both sides of the shaft to seal off the crankcase. The 2 cycle oil separates from the gas to lubricant the bearings in the bottom end. When we rebuilt them there was always a oil build up in the bottom end. I think you are sucking some of this oil up threw your rotary valve and going to the top of the piston. I believe this is where you are getting all your smoke problems. I hope this helps you out.
Yes.
This is so amazing...I'd love to see this on a motorcycle engine but the cyclider head part only, pardon me for this imagination of mine😅...no intake and exhaust valve but a shafting with intake and exhaust in it...i dont know if my imagination is right but i think its more easy to fix the timing to run the engine, timing and the size of intake and exhaust within the shaft and the shaft size...
It would be interesting to measure its power! It's important to run this engine as fast as possible... It doesn't have a valve, so there won't be any risk of floating 😅
the entire engine is proof of concept, just needs some tweaking 😁👍
Did I create an engine or a smoke generator... Yes!
do you have a breather set up so the crankcase pressure don't blow oil past the rings/ piston ??
молодец
Vielen Dank!
I don’t know but it might possibly work but I would Put cross hatching in the cylinder wall to make the piston rings spin to keep oil out of the cylinder. Great idea and this is amazing work keep it up
That could only help having a standard crosshatch fine scratch pattern on the cylinder wall.
I think this is accomplished in Video 2 where the engine is actual made to run.
Cool 😎👍👍👍👍👍👍
Please show us your engine working with less oil in the fuel and then add to a small vehicle 🙏👍👍👍👍
try to observe their rotary machine using apex seal
Just reduce the oil pressure to the shaft with a constriction in the feed pipe.
Add a exhaust pipe better work sir and nice engine thanks for sharing video sir.
I’d suggest to look at the whole combustion process. Do a full stoichiometric calculation. Clearly it’s not combusting fully.
I disagree. I think the gasoline is combusting completely, or as near to completely as makes a difference. The smoke is the exhaust is grey/white which is oil not uncombusted gasoline. Uncombusted gasoline would show up as more blackish.
@@oddjobbob8742 Ah, so then find the source of the leak, or design flaw.
Mooie projecten heb je.
Ik doe dat ook. Alleen niet op CZcams..

Have you tried expirimenting with different carburetor jets?
I'd also try 2-cycle oil for main oil
We want to see a motorcycle with this engine
Definitely a motor. 👌👍👍
All the smoke is from cam lubrication. Cam lubrication means it definitely doesn't need oil in fuel. Enough seeps into cylinder from there.
This is a very interesting comment. I was thinking there didn’t need to be oil in the fuel as well but I couldn’t think of how that could be demonstrated short of running the engine with straight gasoline and running the risk of sieving the valve shaft.
But your comment about the volume of smoke indicating the valve shaft is sufficiently oiled by pump and the crankcase oil is the “proof” needed to run the engine on progressive less and less oiled gasoline. If, as the fuel contains less oil, there is less smoking then the oil in the exhaust is “blow-by” either in the cylinder wall or the valve shaft.
Is it powerful enough to run a generator
It would be cool if you put this on a go cart or a minibike

check compression then do a cylinder leak down test. you will find the culprit. probably the rings.
Krena berapa CC om.
I think that valve rotor needs seals like this on rotor in Wankel engine, that would seal up combustion chamber from oil
I think it is dangerous to go below 4%. On the other hand, the implementation of an EGR solution (exhaust gas recirculation) would seem very interesting. It is even likely that the mixture would then go to 2%.
Another solution would be to set up a separate lubrication of the rotary valve.
Yes.
It may be too low air on in? And too many fuel?
🔥🔥🔥
