It is no secret that any housewifely man should have at least one trailer or a scamp. I had such a trailer, vintage trailer, but his condition made me want the best.
My friends and neighbors constantly borrowed it from me and returned it with scratches and not in the best condition.
I wanted to buy a new trailer, but after seeing the prices, I quickly changed my mind. I decided to give a second chance and a second life to my old trailer, so my camper trailer rebuild project was started.
In this video, I will share with you my little trailer recovery project.
The restoration of the trailer was very interesting and the result exceeded my expectations.

I think trailers are great fun to restore. I bought an old home-built one, threw away the wooden box body (rotten) and used the axle and draw-bar to create my own with a welded steel frame (black) aluminium sides and back (yellow) for visibility, LED lights for reliability.
Then I bought a motorcycle which couldn’t fit in the trailer, so cut the trailer body in half and put in another mid-section to make it longer. A project is never finished! I really enjoy all your stuff, thank you for good videos.Les in UK 🇬🇧

Wow! I've done a few trailer refurbs, but that was the most complete, thorough and professional job I've ever seen! Well done, superb workmanship. It's a shame you didn't go for LED lights, but that's a small observation. Great video! :)

I know this is an older video of yours but in USA there are demands for travel trailer, recreational homes, camper builds with inventive portable toilets, showers, beds, cook tops, fridges, dining tables, air condoning etc
I think it would be cool for your channel and add a lot of traffic if you decided to build out this trailer to an RV and maybe inspire some builders out there with your detailed videos
Challenge yourself with your house building techniques in a small confined space that’s adequate for at least 2 adults and maybe 2 small children and trying to come under 1,000 kg of weight?
I think that would be a cool video and get a lot of views

I 've got one of these trailers, it's an
"ERDE". My sister in-law gave it to me for free!, but I had to buy two new tyres, as the old ones were damaged and old.Good resto my friend.

Aanhanger ziet er weer 10 keer beter uit! Maar je had jezelf veel werk kunnen besparen, door in plaats van de gehele as er onderweg te slopen, je een passend stuk vierkant-buisprofiel tussen de dissel en koppeling had gezet. De aanhanger (bak) had dan ook op hoogte (+/_ waterpas) achter de auto gestaan ... ;))
Zeus, bedankt voor uw feedback. Uw tip is ook inderdaad heel nuttig en het zou me een stuk minder tijd hebben gekost. Ondertussen willen mijn kennissen hem terug gebruiken, en ik peins dat ik binnenkort hem terug zal moeten restaureren ))))

After just looking at your video, i went to the back of my shop i had one just like yours, over 25 yrs old.. Took it all apart and replaced the O-Rings works just great, only thing it weights about 80 Lbs,use to pick it up with one hand now i need a chain fall to help me lift it up.

Nice restoration, I should have used betonplex for bottom and side panels. Also use a breaker cable for hook up.
It is an unbraked trailer, required to have a safety cable or chain, not a break-away cable like overrun-braked trailers do.

That was a great restoration of a nice trailer. The one thing I would have done differently is used LED taillights instead of incandescent. They are more reliable and last longer.
Helluva lot more expensive aswell.
@@GBOB68 I don’t think so. I used all LEDs on my home made trailer. Any way the biggest advantage is their reliability. Very often you see trailers here in UK with only half their lights working (or less). My LED units have been flawless for a number of years. Les in UK
@@leslieaustin151 I didn't mean you shouldn't do it. I've got LED's retro fitted on my own trailer. Hence the statement I made above. I personally wouldn't use incandescent bulbs on a trailer as the vibrations tend to kill them pretty quickly, which I've realised through experience.
