Luke Newton ATE the revelation scene! I would give him an Emmy nomination for that 1 minute alone! I've honestly rewatched it so many times because you can really see his heartbreak almost more than his anger. He was teary-eyed and RIGHT when Pen nodded in confirmation that she is LW, his tears FINALLY fell! OMG! And it fits his character so well that he would be more of a crier when angry than raging (like Anthony would be). And his eyes were always glassy when speaking to Pen in anger. Ugh...Luke....the actor that you ARE!

Yes. He said in an interview they originally wanted him angry and shouting at first but whilst shooting that he was just so overwhelmed at that point the tears just started falling instead, and they stopped to check he was okay and then were like 'we're keeping this in/it fits better'. I think it fits his character better too. Colin seems the type to cry whilst he's angry whilst Simon would rather punch a wall etc.
He’s a stellar actor. He brought Colin to life because it’s hard to play such a complex character like Colin! Someone who feels all the emotions, someone who is soft and insecure, someone who has a hero complex. Someone who loves love!!!! Luke is phenomenal honestly. I was blown away ❤

I think they're the most distinct as far as individualizing their character through their acting. Like Luke has MADE Colin. It's hard to have any notes, he does the character of Colin so perfect. He adds an incredible realism to the character. Nicola kills. This just is ❤😂

I’m so happy they used the song Yellow for the wedding, such a good nod to Penelope and her yellow dresses. Also, when Colin smiles and nods, it lines up with the lyrics “you know I love you so” which is just so romantic!! As much as the ending of this episode destroys me, I’m so glad Polin got a happy wedding, despite his anger, Luke Newton did such a good job showing Colin’s happiness at marrying Penelope, his best friend. They are just meant to be together.

Of course for this party it is likely everyone invited to the wedding was also invited to teh breakfast (unlike Queen Victoria's wedding--who was seated at the breakfast so she could not see her mother, fun fact). One thing that really radiates to me about this whole series is just how much Colin and Penelope really do love each other--so much so once they find out the other feels the same, NOTHING can keep them apart. They are seriously upset with each other on their wedding day, yet they are still GLOWING with love.
She's talking about making things up. She never fabricates anything, she tells things exactly how they're happening, and exactly the way the ton is gossiping about.
Honestly, i love this so much. I love this season and the conflicts, the angst and the fluff! I love it all, i love how they talk about loving yourself, about him being insecure, both having self-worth issues...but one thing i never doubted was that they loved each other and i live for it. Colin is a puppy! And Luke Newton was brilliant in his hurt.. I agree that LW didn't lie.
My Polin! Their wedding was beautiful! Colin is a soft puppy, he has a lot of insecurities. Pen looked so beautiful. I've rewatched 5 times already, i'm obsessed.
I have mixed feelings about the Queen barging into the wedding breakfast. On one hand, I’m upset because if she hadn’t have done that, then Polin would’ve had their wonderful wedding night. But on the other hand, it was pretty badass of Queen Charlotte to barge in, order everyone but the Bridgertons out of the room, and got right to the point, showing that she meant business. She truly showed why she’s the Queen of England in this episode. It’s why I love Queen Charlotte so much. But I’m honestly tired of all these lack of wedding nights. First it was King George and Queen Charlotte, now it’s Polin that didn’t have a wedding night.
One thing this edit show me another example of is the problem this season had with SCENE TRANSITIONS!! (associated with the Queen's barging) I seem to be part of the minority that blame new editing more than anything to do with the storyline for the things that annoyed me in this season.

It kills me! 😢 I 100% believe that if the queen hadn’t shown up at the wedding breakfast, the rest of their wedding day and night would’ve happened as they should have. Colin was ready to forgive her, to at least talk things out with her. QC showing up just brought everything back to the forefront and put his guard up again.
