I need a Sidious, but I'm thinking will a ROTJ one get re-released? If not, I could just change out the cloak. This is the conundrum 😅
It's a tough one to call! Think they would have to come up with a completely new sculpt to warrant a ROTJ reissue / 2.0 as I don't think there's all that much to improve on! So like they did with Maul I guess. Thanks for watching 👊🏻
Dangerous times with so many new releases, just need to exercise some restraint at this point, as much as I would like to get some of these it is just not possible, if I were to get any it would Darth Sidious, what an amazing repaint headsculpt really shows him in all his sith glory. Has the market become over saturated I wonder?. There are just so many figures I can fit in to my display room 😂thanks for your thoughts as always👍 mind how you go😀
Yes Hot Toys have gone berserk dropping all these figures! I'm glad I resisted the Chrome and Gold variants tbh! Interesting point about an over-saturated market though, I wonder if that's why they're suddenly releasing so many limited edition figures now! Thanks for watching mate 👊🏻

At first I thought the Sideous figure was the upcoming release that they had changed, and I wasn't happy. But it is a completely new figure - can't wait to add him to the collection.
I'm not going to jump through hoops to get that limited release commando. If I manage to get one, fine, if not, fine. TBH, the design is a bit odd, compared to all the other troopers (clone and imperial).

Yeah absolutely fantastic headsculpt imo!! I'm glad we're getting a proper movie accurate version of Sidious as well as the Clone Wars version. Although it does make the CW version less essential I think. Basically the Commando is a Bad Batch Commando reimagined as a live action Commando that's never existed 😅 So you could say it can't ever be accurate to anything, much like the Bad Batch figures themselves! @@TK421Collectibles I'm not sure they have his robe accurate. In Hot Toys' photos, it appears brown. But in the movie it was gray (in Palpatine's office, where Yoda first confronts him, it appears to have a purplish tint to it, but that might be due to the colors of the environment; in the senate chamber, it looks more solid gray).
No way is that robe grey dude!!! NO WAY 🤣 Maybe its one of them optical illusions so to some people its looks red and for other people it looks blue 😅 I mean I've not checked any photos tbh (I will have to investigate this later) 😅

I want this Obi Wan so much but I can’t afford all these drops when it’s not in my budget. Unfortunately a pass for me unless my wife gives me an extra $300 😂😂😂 which is not likely at all.

I’m just getting Darth Sidious. I’m not getting the CW version. Who knows they might do an unscarred version for RotS 20th. I’m still holding out hope for more Phantom Menace.

That commando is literally a Hasbro moment.
An animated style Hunter repaint with a realistic battlefront 2 commando helmet.
It is inaccurate to the animated design, becouse it still has Hunters unique modifications, being more skinny than a regular commando, and it has a realistic helmet.
And it is inaccurate to the Realistic design, as exept the helmet it has the animated style body proportions (not to mention it has Hunters skinny proportions, wich are absolutely inaccurate to the regular commandos).
The only difference between this figure and Hasbros is the pricetag. For this price, it should be at least be an accurate depiction of a commando armor. Now even if they will ever do Delta Squad, or at least Scorch, they would definetely all have these half animated, half realistic, Hunter proportions, meanwhile if they made an actual realistic commando based on the battlefront 2 model, they could repaint it multiple time and it would sell well and would be accurate.

As much as I love Sidious and how great he looks, it's a real disappointment that you cannot take the robe off his head part to reveal his entire head. Or are they planning a pre-DS Palpatine seperately or as a deluxe set in the future to have fans buy the same figure again just like the CW Obi-wan?
Hmm that did not occur to me at all but its a great point! I can see what you mean, the hood looks designed so it always in-situ. I'm guessing you must be able to take the hood down in order to get at the moving eyes though. But yeah, will have to see how this works when we get it. Thanks for watching! 👊🏻

I'm struggling with this. They look great but "do I need them?", is the question I've asked myself more and more. I do like them but not sure if I have to have them just yet. Few hours to decide I suppose.

Great video as always dude, i told you this kind of video works well, loving it! Do you think they will do a re-release of sidious from ROTJ? I never got him and it would be cool, that crazy smiling head sculpt is epic! So much atmosphere to it!
Got a question for you, with all these new figures having USB and bigger bases, have you thought about how to incorporate them into your display? Will you be using all the USBs? Would be cool switching the lights off and just rows of jedi glowing by lightsaber light.

Not sure about a ROTJ reissue tbh, although they did it with Maul so it's definitely a possibility. Would need an updated head sculpt etc to match the quality of ROTS version (don't think they could get away with the same sculpt).
Some sort of USB hub and wiring so I could switch everything on in one go would be absolutely amazing! Would take some planning I think so I'd have to give it some thought. You got any plans for anything like that for your displays?

I feel like they are slowly drip feeding us ROTJ figures, I wouldn't be surprised if a chewee comes out in the next 6 months and of course it will be limited :( Yeah the head sculpt on a new emperor would have to be updated I think but it would be cool to get him.
Do you think you will be bothered to hook them all up now that you've entered the world of CCFL? at the moment I'm gearing up to light a bunch of new display cabinets so I hope I can have a whole new display setup and yes I would love to add the USBs to that but what bothers me is so many of my jedi figures already don't have usb so it will look a little strange with just a hand full with lights. Will it bother you if most of yours have rectangular bases but a few are round and bigger? I really like the new bases but they are a bit big if you don't have much space.
@@TALON80sI don’t know man, hooking up all the lightsabers USB and CCFL seems like a load of effort tbh 😅 plus I don’t display many figures holding the lightsaber. So prefering to just use the sabers in videos etc rather than being on a lot in the display. Plus those CCFL sabers get *hot* dude!! 🔥🔥

Yeah those round bases do take up a bit more room but I think I could still squeeze me limit of (currently 4) figures per shelf even with the round bases. Plus I like the height so would look good with round based figures at the back and the standard base figures up front 👌🏻
@@TK421Collectibles To be honest, the CCFL ones seem dangerous, it's not something I would use, if you've seen how they are made, they aren't supposed to be exposed out of glass like that. Your right though it does seem like a right faf, which is a shame now that we actually have USB power.
Can you imagine the reaction if suddenly they announced a gamorean guard or something?
That's a good point, it is cool if you can elevate them in the back, shame you can't seem to remove the name plates though incase you want different figures at the back.

Man, I’m so glad I decided to tone down my collecting. Otherwise my wallet would have been annihilated! I’m personally passing on all of these, high shock. I’m still perfectly committed to the clone wars version of sidious, I find the overall aesthetic of sheev palpatine more appealing and the less poofy robes will be easier to work with.
Interesting! I thought the ROTS version of Palpatine might make the CW version seem less desirable, but I understand where you're coming from. I definitely what to try and pick up both if I can, as much as I generally prefer live-action based figures, the Clone Wars stuff is just fantastic! Thanks for watching 👊🏻
I did the same, it's not sustainable to collect everything anymore, just way too many releases.
the thing with the clone commando, animation argument aside, the models in the bad batch are completely different between hunter and the commando. this figure is a embarrassment for the price
I guess it’s because it’s a live-action representation of an animated character though (a live-action version of which doesn’t actually exist) so I think it’s tricky to get a design that would please everyone. Maybe they could have gone with a heavy mando/paz viszla-type body to bulk it up a bit. But then they probably wanted a more posable figure like a standard clone trooper. @@poky3933 well when I say "live-action" I mean an actor in a suit in a movie or TV series. You're right though Battlefront 2 has very realistic CGI!
Mando Kenobi is an easy pass for me, as I have Clone Wars Kenobi on the way. Waiting for a new Palpatine which will surely be released for the ROTS anniversary, so also skipping this Darth Sideous. Not a great fan of the smile to be honest - I can’t help thinking he’s saying “cheese” and smiling for the camera, every time I see it lol. I’ve managed to secure an Imperial Commando though - I’m mad for troopers, and this looks ace! Will be interesting to see how he looks without his helmet illuminated though. Look forward to seeing your reviews mate! 👍🏼
