    I placed my light bar in almost the exact same place and found I get a massive reflection down on the windshield basically blinding me. SET IT BACK FURTHER!! Have it powered before you mount it to set the shadow further down onto the hood.

      @kozmicflush980 Před 3 lety

      Irrelevant. you can always adjust the bar up and down later. I have it in the same place as these guys, and mine doesn't have reflection.

    Do yourself a favor, always, always run the wires through the firewall and not through the door and fender.. Just asking for problems.. and make sure you have a fuse right at the battery

      Adam Hornyak I learned that first hand. I got lazy when i had my 99 blazer and i didnt want to take the time to figure out where to put it through the firewall. Door pinched my wires and caught themselves on fire. It was pretty intense, after that i bought a nice harness and drilled a hole lol.

    Why not go threw the firewall instead of running wires where they can get pinched or seen. I would go threw firewall and under dash to fuse box it would look much cleaner.

  • @StitchDGlitch
    @StitchDGlitch Před 6 lety +2

    What did you spliced into the fuse box and why? Seems unnecessary.. fuse should be near battery and done. I agree with other commitments, through firewall would be best for a more professional install.

    • @Evou224
      @Evou224 Před 5 lety +2

      Timothy Cottle the switch to turn the lightbar on needs a constant 12v to send the turn on signal, what he put in the fuse panel is called a fuse tap, it will take a factory fuse and allow you to tap into its power line to get a 12v signal without having to run another wire from the battery

    don't like those fuse taps for a lot of functions. too often i see people put a higher current load rather than using it for relay triggering then wonder why they blow fuses. but then fix it by putting higher rated fuses in and wonder why their components shit themselves completely when theres a short. too much current flowing that doesn't bust the fuse. if your don't know what your doing perhaps get a suitably trained person to assist rather than rely on youtube for electronics.

      As for that nasty whistling noise, there are a bunch of youtube videos where they put door trim on the fins of the brackets to deflect the wind and get rid of the noise issue.
