And yes, being needed (not used!!...big difference there ) is a blessing - because it`s about sharing. Sharing is about togetherness. Togetherness is about peace. And peace is about love & happiness. Back in high school I joined the track team in the 10th grade. My selection of events to participate in was limited because I am vertically challenged. 😆 Back then I am pretty sure I hadn't even reached 4'10" yet.
So the hurdles were out, and so were any of the sprint races. That left me with either long distance running, which I was really good at and wanted to do, or the boring running around the track a few times races, like the one they made me do. The 440.
I always lost because I hated that race and put zero effort into even placing. I always finished last, and remember spending the entire time grumbling to myself because I joined track to find something I could be successful at, not be forced to do something I didn't even WANT to do.
Back then they didn't give rewards for participation like they do now. If you didn't succeed you either tried harder, or found something else to do that you might be better at. 🤷‍♀️
I'm glad they didn't give rewards for participation, because as a young developing mind that would have taught me that my half butted, bad attitude efforts were enough to get me a reward. No... That those things DESERVED a reward.
Now a days people are being treated like animals when we "treat train" them. Do what I say and you get a "cookie", don't listen or don't do it because you don't understand what is being asked of you and you get rejected and told, "do this or else".
There's no balance in our teaching anymore. It's my way or the highway. Do or die. Accept or be rejected.
God doesn't "need" us. He WANTS us. We are His children whom He created and Loves even more than we Love our own children.
He wants what is best for us, which is to live within the sphere that we were created to live in... Relationship with Him, which is what brings balance into our life and relationships with each other.
And when we find that place of balance we were designed to live in, we will also find all those seemingly elusive things we are endlessly chasing like Peace, Hope, Contentment, and Love.
Because God is a God of perfect design. He never strays from His design, we do. And then we wonder why He "feels" so far away, when the Truth is, He is so much closer than we realize, and we are really just suffering from a broken connection in our conscience that keeps us looking for all the right things, in all the wrong places.

@@isaacweingarten Just because we were "created in His image", does not mean we are truly representing His image.
We have been taught to look at Him as though we ARE representing Him in this confused state of being.
Instead of looking honestly at ourselves to see where we are misrepresenting Him unintentionally, so we can fix it and we can represent Him properly.
HE is God. We are not.
We are a reflection of our parents, aren't we? Just as we reflect the qualities our parents taught us while growing up, we are meant to be a reflection of God's Love, Mercy, Truth, and Acceptance.
We were created in His image to reflect His Goodness, His Kindness, His Love... To one another. We are all kinda stuck together here on this planet aren't we? 😆
Wouldn't it just be wiser to try to find a way to get along?

  • @DaleBrose
    @DaleBrose Před rokem

Thank you for your wisdom and some honesty Rabbi. About 40 years ago, as a child, I began to ask questions because I wanted to understand. The conclusion I came up with and the only one that made sense to me is that the need is on the creator, not the created. If God or gods created humans, they did it out of some need. Otherwise, why else? So did God create man or does man create their gods? While I am not a believer and am an atheist and have been my entire life, I am an ally of the Jewish people because I respect their message. But what pushed me to reject religion as a kid is that I did not accept that I would be punished if I did not keep my part of the deal that I did not ask to be a part of.
In fact, one of the first faiths that appealed to me as I explored faiths was Zoroastrianism. In simple terms, the duality of Zoroastrianism presented the deities of Ahura Mazda (good) and Angra Mainyu (evil). But Ahura Mazda as the god of good, light and wisdom, does not demand worship or obedience as part of the relationship. Ahura Mazda is simply the followers guide to good. It's up to us which path we choose. So even as a atheist, I can respect that message much the same way I respect the message of the Jewish faith.
But does God need me or the does the Church need me to believe that I would need a god. I would think it would be much more financially beneficial to the Church for me the believe that I needed and from the looks of the opulence of the Vatican or the mega-church leaders flying in their private jets, it looks like they've doing perfectly fine without my money.
But no, I don't need God or gods and It's refreshing to hear honesty and reason being shared by you.

If God is eternal and humans were not there from the beginning what does He need us for? What was He doing prior to our creation? Was he unfulfilled or incomplete? What does He need us for? How do we complete Him or what is He lacking without humanity? He created out of love not need. What is true is true doesn’t matter if fear is used to convey the message maybe it’s not as effective specially in this age since we don’t respect our ancestors and their experiences in the same way. I guess humanity has progressed to the point that we are figuring out stuff the our ancestors that where obviously not as intelligent could not grasp. I would suggest that there have been many civilizations that have existed that did not believe in God or had the Fear of the Lord. Not sure if they were happier.

The complexity, complexion or Oneness of HaShem is just what initiated the primordial separation meaning there is the answer, the fact that G-d doesn't need because he is One is what can be interpreted as the primordial need that makes every single factor in the universe look for the autocancellation or what the CERN looks for, the antimatter. And it is said that men was made in the image of Him... Male and female. They were one entity, same as here for example in Argentina was quite common since the crash of 2001 that people went to the houses looking for a job offering something that nobody needs, cut the grass for example, clean the backyard or front yard. As the owner of the house, out of love the need of this work is generated so that the worker can fulfill the service to his master. G-d need us, to return and this was the first commandment to be one in flesh with a woman. Both noahides and jews have the commandment of find their halves because there is no way they can serve the Master as a half. The sephira of Yessod is also for gentiles to take care of. All the suffering, wars, blood , tears, sweat is because gentiles continuously fail since the time of Noah to fix Yessod. What's the main thing that every gentile hates the most? The union between man and woman, look how the gentiles put laws in order to condemn this, making practically or leaving for young people to get old being a pgem HaBrit with the only possibility to marry a "violated" woman. Nonjews create an environment such that girls lose their innocence every time younger. It was the 50s when woman still got to the marriage in ideal condition not to defeat the purpose of guarding the foundation. I doubt there is any turning point for humanity and what was in the time of Noah when they did all the possible not only to avoid contact between two innocent people but to leave the only possibility to commit bestiality and woman woman relationship. Wasting seed, is equal to causing harm and bleeding, which equals to sustenance. The gmarah practically concludes prior to Gog Magog war with the worst inflation in human history. The countries who waste seed the most are usually the ones who suffer the most the economic crisis. Argentina and eastern europe are the most miserable places where even though they are rich by resources, all is wasted and people are poor. Now others have join the club also.

Good arguement, but in the example you mentioned, the grandpa doesn't need the child to go to school, because without the grandson, he can live peacefully. It is from his love that he wants the grandson to go to school and have a life for himself. I don't know why god burns people who disbelieves him, but in other senses, if you see a religion carefully, it wants you to have a good life. God threaten us because we are like kids who don't listen or tells us that we have rewards for our good deeds to encourage us to do more. It is like a family, our family doesn't need us but want us to born and grow even if we have disease before birth.
I can not understand god, but i can remain assured that a god which needs sth can never be existed.

He needs a family, not forced but wanted to be in His family because they genuinely love God and what He loves, they weren't forced they weren't joining due to threats they joined by thier own free will because they wanted too. Fake and real are greatly different one doesn't need motivation to do what is needed because it's what they want to do, not from any force driving them.

bs"d very cute - G-d brought us to a very expensive restaurant and now He wants us to pay the bill... kind of apt... but it is a good restaurant... just, if I am not able to pay the bill before I croak, I get worried about who else will get stuck with it, because I was such a selfish minx... who is He going to stick, with my bills? Scary. So I hang on, even though the debt increases and I can't pay anything, and what others will get stuck with gets worse and worse. Washing the dishes in the back won't help; if I can't pay, maybe they will use my sub-particulate remnants to make the next Higgs bosons. Which is very dangerous for everyone.

His thinking is in line with a deep understanding of Chassidut - teachings that were revealed some 300 years ago or so. These teachings don't claim to bring anything new to Judaism, they merely bring to light ideas which were always part of Judaism but at some point were too much ignored or discarded, certainly not emphasized enough.
The group of "expounders" of Chassidic philosophy which most expounded on the teachings, is called Chabad, and is the group that Manis Friedman belongs to and the teachings of which he teaches to the world. There are "Chabad Houses" all over the globe, open and available for anyone interested in more information on any given topic. You can look up a local Chabad house easily online...

Wow! Surprised to know that religious leaders of Abrahamic religions like this learned Rabbi (deserving the highest respect) also think so nicely like Indian sages, rishis & gurus without any fear of God . Yes, it is so much logical that God created us all mainly to meet His requirements which some how gets fulfilled if we worship Him, praise Him, venerate Him. Otherwise creation itself seems not needed and uncalled for, but (seems) could not be stopped and obviously root cause of all problems. This (seems) to be actual reason why Lord Shiva reprimanded the creator God Lord Brahma (Lord Shiva's another version/manifestation) and even cursed him (sanctioned) not to be worshiped (which is very well followed to this day i.e. not worshiping the creator version of God (Brahma) except in two temples in India). (I'm a confused non-devout Catholic in India.. open to free thinking and exploration). Regards
