In the UK these came out as the GS300 with 3 litre v6 and 247bhp. I had a 2008 model and it was superb. Fast, luxurious and handled brilliantly. Better than a 5 series or Eclass to drive. Loads of room and a huge boit (trunk). Needed lots of maintenance though. Suspension was the weak point needing replacing at 60k miles, mine had electrical niggles at 67k miles and twin exhausts burn through and spilt at Y junction from bottom link pipe to manifold meaning a £750 replacement system. To drive though they are fabulous even by todays standards. I have the rx450 now but its not as luxurious or good to drive as the older GS which was also their best ever looking fastback saloon.

@@eldon3806 $80 average full coverage Allstate , and kinda expensive oem parts not cheap it depends on the condition that you will get but overall it’s very reliable car

5:59 if you hit the top left button with the lights on, windshield wiper fluid sprays down the headlights. Not super useful, but the quirkiest feature on my car. How was this missed? Not to mention the rear window screen that pulls up at the press of a button.
I don’t have the power rear sunshade option on mine. Although I do have the ventilated seats which I wouldn’t trade for anything. Wish I had Mark Levinson audio too.

Very informative review, well done buddy, I just bought 2009 today, I've a quick question for you, the manual says that i have to use premium fuel with minimum 91 octane , what is the risk of using regular fuel, which is 87 octane? Thanks
This kills the engine, if it says 91 octane, always use 91. Otherwise you will cause pinging.

The thing that made no sense to me is them taking away the sunglass holder in the 2010 model.
They're always taking away something or reducing it, then after awhile they bring it back or upgrade the component. They probably concluded that not enough people used it.

The trunk is quite spacious but the opening is narrow. There is a full size spare.

I've got a GS460 which is slightly faster and has adjustable suspension, and i find the handling to be very good, best of any cars I've owned actually, but there is very little road feel through the steering wheel. So it takes a while to get used to
Frankly I'd prefer mine was a bit more polished. I have an AWD with 17 inch wheels and my BMW 750 rides way better with 20's. The Bimmer is way quieter as well. The Mark Levinson stereo isn't worth the money. That said, I really like the car overall plus it's WAY more reliable than my BMW.

I've got an 07 and the wood wheel was standard according to my window sticker but I've seen a lot of GS 's without it.
I'm still debating on either getting an 2012 Camry or 08 GS. I know the difference so chill. I'm just still debating if I want something that will cost me more to maintain and repair. Either of these will be an upgrade from my 97 Camry lol. The thing is I've gotten used to how cheap my yearly maintenance is with my current car. Vs going into a newer car and a luxury sedan.

Not the same engine. Geez! I currently have a 08 GS 350 RWD. It is an awesome car. Way nicer and more powerful than even the wonderfully performing v6 Camry. Get the Lex!
I used to have Camry 2012 and i just bought 2008 GS 350 , the GS 350 is way better and comfortable to drive , also the GS 350 has more powerful engine than the Camry, in terms of maintaining cost, the GS 350 is very Reliable car just like the Camry , so maintenance cost will be a little bit higher than the Camry, because GS 350 is a Lexus !
Don't forget the GS was twice the price of the Camry, much quieter, puts the power down without torque steer and has a double wishbone front suspension (vs the cheap McPherson strut on the camry/es350).

It's pretty bad especially if you get the hybrid version. The opening is so small that it's difficult to put larger items in there. You should see the hinges. Seems really overdone.

Levinson isn't all that, I've had 4 lexus 3 gs and a 99 sc400 I gotta say they should have never abandoned Nakamichi imo. I had a 2009 avalon limited with jbl. blew the mark Levinson out of the water.

You don't hear it from the inside. It has some sort of sound deadening.
My ES does it all the time.
This runs direct and port injection. Direct for power and port to keep the valves clean. But yeah youll never hear it inside. These cars are deceptively fast, as theres no intake or exhaust drama under 6 secs to 60

That’s the direct/port injection at work. They all sound like this, mine does too.
Mine sounds exactly the same inside the car u don’t hear it but it’s the video that makes it sound louder honestly it’s a low sound in person

IS 250 204 hp all premium fuel ES 350 RX 350 278 hp regular fuel

The trend of putting rose wood or yellow wood needs to go away.All those wood trims look dated in a few years. For one they fade,change colors and wind up looking odd and old imho.....
