  • For a two year period around 2001/2002 this trio held a very enjoyable weekly Tuesday residency at The Nine Pins pub/restaurant at Saltwell, Gateshead on Tyneside. On this evening our pianist Bill Harper recorded the trio using a Sony Walkman recorder. This song was composed in 1935 by Arthur Johnston & Sam Coslow. Our intro/ending owes a lot to a great version by the late Dave Frishberg, on his wonderful album 'Getting Some Fun Out of Life'.
Billy Harper - piano, Pete Stuart - bass, Roly Veitch - guitar/vocal

I've always loved this tune. I don't recall having heard a lovelier treatment.

Wow thank you. Around that time I played the song a lot, in different settings. It was always well received. I first heard it on a great album by the late Dave Frishberg 'Getting Some Fun Out of Life'. Our intro/ending owes a lot to that version.
