I have an fn 5.7 and Iâm broke and I still shoot 100+rds every two weeks or so here in LA.

Lol the most expensive pistol you'll never shoot.... I've got an original and a ps90... I don't think it's a money thing as much as ammo availability... I've seen a box here or there... I thank God I got 4 cases of ammo and reloading supplies... I'm going to hold on to them a little longer.... ammo is almost 3 time's as much for it now and you don't see more than a box or two on the shelves...

Cheapest Iâve seen is .74 cents a round, a good box of 9mm defensive rounds cost more than that !!!! I donât get people saying itâs so expensive, they must not look hard enough or compare prices
Definitely a great gun to use but I much prefer the old 5-7, the design looks way more unique and cool in comparison.

I bought my first FN at the age of 39, about a month ago. I went with the FNX 45 Tactical, slapped a Holosun 507-T on it, as well as a Streamlight TLR-1. THIS GUN IS AMAZING!! Hopefully this version of the Five-seveN will be my next FN purchase.
Perfect chance to make it suppressor ready, and you failed.

@@jonahpatton8879 barely. It doesn't compensate for how much better 5.7 is against flesh. The only reason the 4.6 has the slight advantage for armor penetration is because it has a full steel core, whereas the 5.7 has a steel tip. Check out 5.7 black dragon fang
@@alexc6582 the 5.7 black dragon fang is the only 5.7 round that consistently meets FBI pistol requirements and it also does very well against armor. Tell me something though, how many rounds of black dragon fang do you have stockpiled? From what I gather it's very hard to find and VERY expensive.

I actually like the five-seven pistol and have been looking forward to a significant updating of it for AGES (to bring it into modernity). I am Very disappointed with this...
How about ambi-controls, updated ergos, better trigger, lower bore axis. You know, actually EVOLVING the platform and making it BETTER.

hey FN wanna know why I sold my ps90 and Five Seven? Because for some reason there's only two ammo manufactures making 5.7 and its about $1.15/round. 5.7 is a very niche round and honestly I dont think it will ever take off unless prices go down

I think there will be an option to get a threaded barrel from the factory as well as a suppressor.
The 5.7 mrd is a long needed refresh, I wonder if they're gonna start importing the Hyper-tard pistol too.
Too bad Canadian moguls aren't really on board with the whole basic human nature thing. They expect you to just lay down and die, glad to see FN giving this tool some love. In my opinion FN is one of today's least "evil" and culturally tainted brands and I hope to see more work from them in the hands of the few of us who will be able to maintain their rights. As long as there is a will to fight in the human spirit, and in the spirit of the animals that we cohabitate with, there will always be need to defend yourself against this will, should it go astray and seek to cause you undue harm

They had 24 years to fix make a great gun and they still messed up with this one my god. FN step it up 509ts are still having problems and you drop this wow
The LS Edge was also such a disappointment. Literally the one thing they didn't fix from the original 509 that they should have was the trigger.

@@blaniac6591 i think you just like the uniqueness of the original.. the new one still has the same shape and is clearly a five-seven, the edges are just sharper for mounting stuff.. I think its the slide cuts that are throwing people off.. I personally think it would look nicer and more true to the original aesthetic without them.
If you make 6 figures no kids, no car pymts, no house pymts ect- no problem. To even practice with it costs you a fortune. My 9mm and 45acp, still work all day every day.

I love FN Herstal to death, the FN FAL is one of my favorite rifles of all time, but this...i dunno. If you really want a pistol "that shoots like a rifle" go get an FK Brno PSD in 7.5 FK. It has nearly the same capacity, same price for ammo. But the 7.5 FK round will actually defeat pistol rated body armor, unlike the 5.7x28.
You clearly have never fired Elite Ammunition's 5.7 ammunition. They have at least three different rounds that will easily defeat pistol rated body armor. All I carry is Elite ammo in my Five-Seven. Just check out Buffman's page. The proof is all there. czcams.com/users/BuffmanLT1

Its a shame they stuck with the same polymer magazines. They cost $48 and I consistently break one's mag catch surface every range trip. would have loved to see a metal mag or even just a harder polymer.

@@BeginnerOutdoors Sam used a Mk23 in Splinter Cell Conviction before getting his Five-seveN back, but the Five-seveN was always Sam's iconic pistol. Conviction even outright calls it his favorite pistol.
Ammo availability and price is the biggest downside to these things.

Found cartridges at $57 per box. Wondered if the store did that as an inside joke. Delaying the purchase of a 5-7 for a while. Wait and see. As much as I love it-after all, it IS the favored firearm of Juan Cabrillo-still canât pull the trigger between the purchase price and ammo cost. Somethingâs gotta give.
I bought some the other day for $40 a box. When I first bought a box it was $23, before these ammo hoarders and fear mongerers in the media got involved lol. 5.7 was probably a lot cheaper than when I first started buying any a few years ago.

FNX-45T is more fun to shoot, unless you get excited about poking holes in paper at long distances with a pistol. It's hard to hear 5.7 hits on steel, and it doesn't do much for plinking. If you have suppressors, .45 obviously suppresses better too.
I prefer the original design, but I don't think they could have done a better job redesigning it. Really cool. Hopefully the price isn't too bad.

Iâd like to purchase an FN 57. Unfortunately, I can HARDLY find ammo for it! When I do happen to find ammo, the price of it is ridiculously high. A gun I canât feed because of no ammo is a paperweight. FN, if youâre reading this, please do something to ramp up production of 57 ammo. Iâve only ever seem 2 loads for the gun. One was the FN round and then there was a slightly heavier American Eagle round. Consumers need more ammo and ammo choices.
Would have been alittle better had they brought in an actual new shooter to be one of the speakers so that you dont just take "if you're a new shooter this is for you" all at face value. Professional shooters can say the same thing about a .45 because of their expertise in handling the weapon.

I have an old five seven and I just like the five seven cause it has 20 rounds and it has a lot of heat and penitration plus I like full frame guns

@@ruhidmohamad eh. At close range it wouldn't matter. Then you put the same magazines into a PCC as a truck gun. 9mm ballistically is 5.7 without the armor penetration potential. I still want a handgun with telescoped 300BLK too for the exact same reason.

I'm a righty and even i'm pissed that it's not fully ambi. Not even shading left handed people, but if you're shot in that arm and can't use it anymore, you'd have to switch hands and it would take you alot of time reloading if the controls were not ambi. All companies should just make their handguns fully ambi.

You can get different 5.7 ammo than what FN makes, also, it's not upto FN what the government restricts.
