I also saw things that werent mentioned in the video. Compared to Archons, Focalors appears to welcome us on arrival. In the scene where Meks were ganging up on Traveler and Navia crew, Traveler seems to be in pain and Paimon’s checking on him. I wonder whats gonna happen there
they did notice the second point though, they mentioned navia and her crew were defending traveller at the back
I bet her welcoming Traveller is just a part of her play not to lose face as a ruler of the nation. It doesn't really mean she's gonna be friendly to us like other archons
@@quiet_walker19 Given the influence of the steambird in Fontaine, surely the traveller would be well known with a rep in Fontaine. Makes sense for Focalor to get on top of that and use the traveller to her advantage if the sumeru academia knew the threat the traveller posed.
Yes! I saw the traveller part my first watch through and I hadn't seen anyone talk about it. I'm so curious on what's going to happen or what's causing that. Though I didn't say anything in case it was foreshadowed in the few Archon quests I haven't finished yet so I decided to just wait to see if the answer was there instead
Don't forget what Dain said in the story preview "Even she knows not to make an enemy of the divine" and given we engaged in direct combat with both and Ei and the Raiden Shogun (do bare in mind that she was following her interpretation of the "Heavenly principles" and us engaging to contest that might have been in indirect conflict with Celestia) she might not be as hostile but she might be a lot more wary of us than Venti and Zhongli were.
If I remember correctly, Kaveh's mom is in Fontaine right? What if some of the buildings there is designed by her? 😮

Something tells me that the Hydro Gnosis is what is giving the Oratrice its consciousness, similar to how the Dendro Gnosis was used to power the Akasha System. It could also mean that one of Celestia’s laws (the Gnosis) is being used in a more or less literal sense.

It may be that Navia could be talking to the Oratrice, but I wonder if anyone(except maybe focalors and neuvilette) even knows that the Oratrice has a consciousness
Current theory is that focalors doesn't place her verdict on people, but the oratrice does it instead. I would guess that the final verdict is what the Oratrice actually does itself, but everything else(including laws) are of Focalors doing
I don’t think the rain is from the raising levels , I think it’s caused by an oceanid . When we fight the one in Liyue it is always raining there!

I’ve actually got a small theory about The Oratrice: I think it might be powered by The Hydro Gnosis. This is because it really reminds me of The Akasha, since both of them are devices that harvest the nation’s ideal from the people, and then convert it into something else (Knowledge Capsules and Indemnitium.) But this has a lot of interesting implications.
1. If The Oratrice has a consciousness, does that mean that the gnosis, or ALL gnoses have one too?!
2. Maybe the reason why the twins are interested in how The Oratrice works is because they’ve been sent to retrieve the gnosis by Arlecchino. I think that maybe the “accident” that occurs during the magic show was actually intentional, and that they’re planning to land The Traveler in court and the nation in hysteria, so that they can do their dirty work.
3. If the gnosis is what keeps Fontaine afloat, then this could be our first real situation where an archon isn’t willing to give it up so easily.
And 4. This could also be the first scenario where the gnosis getting stolen results in something truly terrible occurring, meaning that the prophecy might come true because of The Fatui.

5. This could also be the first region where the Fatui fail to get the gnosis.. idk how bad it could mess Tsaritsa's plan but it'd be interesting to see something not working out perfectly from her side
In the trailer they also say at the beginning that there's a prophecy that the people will all be dissolved into the water and only the hydro archon will remain weeping on her throne. Maybe when the Fatui are successfull with getting their hands on the gnosis that is the prophecy, where fontaine will break down, when it's the gnosis that keeps it afloat. And resulting from the break down of the floating fontaine the only thing left in that region is the water. Also with the "everyone sinks" statement from the other video it could be a possibility.
I don't know if it makes any sense to you or you're understanding what I mean but that would be a really cool but also dark turn
@@Myselfasrose I personally think it's more likely that the traveler and company will somehow miraculously find a substitute for the gnosis to save fontaine than it is that the tsaritsa will give up the gnosis... I just don't think she would let anything stop her from achieving her grand plan
I think the reason why the characters are surprised by the rain is because I’m pretty sure it never rains in a nation’s city. For example, if it’s raining in Mondstat and you walk into Mondstat city, the rain stops all the time. I’m pretty sure there’s some lore about all the archons using their powers to stop rain.
Yeah Venti does keep the weather in Mond nice enough that 'the chimneys are never in use, so bird build nests in them'

I just watched a live stream and it was pointed out that Neuvilette's color scheme looks a bit like the otters we see during the SP, can you imagine? Here we are theorizing on whether he's an oceanid or a dragon but then it turns out that he's actually an otter 🤣

After all, Nahida didn't ordered him to not create anymore segments, she just ordered him to delete all of his segments at the time. But it doesn't mean that he can't make new ones.

I feel like Lynette's dissolving isnt part of the magic show but related to the lines about "only the hydro archon will remain" and "it swallows our memories". What if Lynette gets dissolved since she's a "sinner" but Lyney and the other characters won't remember her, because their memories are "swallowed". It would also line up with the fact that there is more robots than humans in fontaine
One thing of note as well is, Focalors is the first archon to refer to herself by her demon name. Other archons are much more reticent with using that name. Focalors also does have an alternate name, but it’s interesting that she uses it the most casually of any archon

maybe it's because other archons are more confident in their power but furina might be putting on a facade of confidence (thus acting like a brat) because in reality she feels weak / insecure in her power and scared of celestia? the scene from the SP where she's crying shows her completely hopeless, unable to save her people and being the only survivor, so it would make sense (survivor's guilt? ok I'll stop reaching)
Neuvillette being the hydro sovereign makes sense, remember in the travail preview where it said that the hydro archon doesn’t like to make an enemy of the divine? The divine being a sovereign. Divine doesn’t necessarily means gods, it can be other beings as well. And this can explain why he’s much more in power than the hydro archon herself.

@@dog.61 We don't actually know yet, but I see most people guessing they are actually Celestia's energy and Abyssal energy.
Basically from the Special Video, it is an energy system founded by a Fontaine guy few hundred years ago that got references from Khaenri'ah technology, that works with getting energy from the reaction of when Pneuma and Ousia interact with each other.

My theory is that the archon is converting "the believe in justice" of the people in energy for maybe preventing Teyvat from getting flooded, this would explain why the archon is so theatrical and why the court house is treated as an opera house, she wants to attract people to the court, she wants them to be excited, because she's using the "Show of justice" to generate energy for the Oratrice, that not only give verdict but also controls/slows the rising of the sea.
It is said that Ei single handedly controls the lightning storm surrounding Inazuma before the archon quest with her own mind and can also command the lightning in the whole world as she said in one of her character voice lines. But Furina can't seem to control the rising water levels of Fontaine, I guess there's a massive difference between OG archons and new ones? (Yes, Ei is not the first Electro archon BUT Makoto is her twin and they existed at the same time so TECHNICALLY, Ei is also an OG archon plus she is stronger than Makoto even when Makoto have a gnosis and Ei didn't)
Or the rising sea levels is out of her control because there's another entity controlling it? Like the oceanids or even the hydro dragon sovereign.
Also, I think it doesn't rain in Fontaine because Focalor is using her power to prevent the rain.

One interesting thing to note is that the oceanids left Fontaine because of and I quote “the waters becoming foul”
Perhaps this foulness of water is related to the legend about the people being dissolved into the water.
At the start of the Overture teaser, we hear a character who wasnt shown called Egeria talking about the Original Sin: "The Orginal Sin is the fairest, everyone sinks. Make the most of the final feast, because for the sinners, the curtsin call has come". This is very matter of fact, very mechanical almost. Egeria means "an advisor", and in Greek mythology is a water spirit/nymph that was a counseller to a king. Pairing this with the fact the Oratrice has a consciousness, i think that Egeria may be the oratrice, as the phrasing she uses seems fitting of the machine that delivers all the sentences in the nation of justice. Its also possible that she is the consciousness of the previous hydro archon, as the water spirit/nymph that is her namesake melted into tears of sorrow and became a spring of water, just as the previous hydro archon did.
Oh damn, what if she is the original Hydro Archon who turned herself into this machine to save her people.

"Spina di Rosula" is Corsician for "rose thorn". Corsica is a French island in the Mediterranean. I think its interesting that they chose to make Navias organization not named in French
About Childe, he could be there of his own accord, which means he might be interfering with yet ANOTHER plan that a higher ranking harbinger is working on.
In Liyue he did that, then he got blamed for some of what went down in Inazuma when he couldn't bring Scara back.
If he does interfere....
It makes me a bit worried for his family, lol.
He's not aware that they might be in danger, after all.
I'm thinking that we'd be the one on trial. Childe is kinda our friend, in a way, so he might be there to try and save us but ultimately will make things more difficult for us since he's a Harbinger lol
i want to point out something about the rain & how it’s important bcs i think it REALLY signifies how much or how little control focalors truly has.
in almost every city we’ve visited so far, it’s never rained intentionally there. it only happens during bugs and clears up as soon as you manage to fix it. this is important, bcs there’s only one other time when we see it rain in a city(at least as far as i can recount) and that’s during the yelan character demo. other than that, in the game, most archons don’t even let the rain touch the insides of the cities.
because of this, i believe it’s showcasing how little or how greatly someone’s power who isn’t in that scene.
i would like to presume it’s neuvillette by the implied “arresting” of the traveler & lynette, but i can’t be certain. however, there is always the option of focalors being on the side & making it rain so it’s more difficult for them to escape.
anyways that’s all for my thoughts
I like that, makes sense why in the trailer there was a couple quotes saying how people don't like the hydro archon because the laws are ridiculous. She's probably adding new laws to create more people to judge.

Pneuma and Ousia are only available with the Traveller and all Fontaine characters. I think there's info that it only applies as well to enemies in the same nation.
This is similar to the ear-thingy (forgot the name) that only appears when you're in Sumeru (before it got deactivated).
I know its ridiculous but all I can think about is Chlorinde having a skill where she pistol whips enemies.
2:49 they did show a few things like that in the SP. They had ruins that had some type of elemental barrier blocking the water from going into the ruins.
by the way, neuvillette's eye color changes between purple and golden, it might be that he also can use both pneuma and ousia
i do think they’re trying to introduce light and dark as some sort of element since originally (in the beginning) the traveler seemed to have some sort of “light” themed power
One thing that i would like to mention is that the rising sea levels are due to the land sinking in, not the increased amount of water(otherwise the sea levels would also increase in other nations).

I wonder if Lynette's absent-mindedness, not speaking much, etc has to do with the fact that she is the one constantly being placed into the water tank for the show. She's experiencing an accelerated version of "being dissolved in water".

Although the theory that Pneuma and Ousia are light and dark elements could be true, mainly because of their connection to celestial and abyss powers, there are some things that dont fit into that theory.
Pneuma means spirit in greek, and Ousia means matter. Not light and dark. (This fact can also be used to confirm the theory, since it's quite often that spirit is associated with light, and dark with matter.)
And, in the enkanomiya event, we encountered and item called "light sigil", which clearly represents light. Alghough, as I just stated, it is named "light sigil" and not "Pneuma sigil".
Honestly, Im very curious to see what Pneuma and Ousia actually are. We never know for sure until Hoyoverse states what these 2 are.
This reminds me: we've actually heard pneuma mentioned before! In Perilous Trail, when Yelan was activating the Fantastic Compass, she said something something, pneuma surge. (Watched that cutscene enough times for it to get stuck in my head :D)

Childe there since Arlecchino is the 10th Harbinger, both of them is in a lower rank and hoping for some kind of promotion since there's two sit that vacant. Maybe they can rank 1 or 2 position higher. This just my theory.
Arlecchino is the 4th, the order is in the voices from Scara and Tartaglia, Pierro is not included in the ranks

I could be wrong, but I feel like indemnitium is why they treat trails like a performance, perhaps they need to make the trails popular because somehow the more indemnitium they acquire somehow stops the rain for a longer duration, since the oratrice has its own consciousness, it decides how much energy is generated based on the popularity of each trail that is held?
The moment they said that the Clockwork Mekas were powered by the annihilation of pneuma and ousia, my mind instant went to matter-antimatter collision lmao

So far each Archon has some sort of familiar. This may be what Neuvillette is to the hydro Archon. (like Yae to Ei)
7:08 I'm guessing it's not that she's defence scaling is the reason she wields White Blind, maybe instead it's referring to origin of this weapon series (a few seconds later we see Clorinde holding a sword from this very series, the EM one). As far as I remember, in the description of this series was mentioned that it was brought to Liyue by some merchant from afar (I didn't check it in a long time, but I remember smth like this). And design of those weapons is steampunk-y, so.. I guess it's just the weapon in the hands of it's original wielder..
UPD: also, regarding Fontain's energy problem (around 27:00 in the video): could it be, that Indemnitium's quantity gradually decreases, so people of Fontain searching for more big and grandiose trials to do? So that's why Traveler is getting judged, to extract more hype from people, who obviously know all of ours great deeds due to, for example, Steam Bird...
UPD 2: later in the video Cat With Blue Hat is taking about this, so..
I assumed the energy problem was because people were losing faith in the system, given that NPCs from Fontaine have complained about their judicial system

something that we didn’t get to see in the SP is what Paimon would look like if we opened the menu underwater. Paimon’s afraid of drowning or water in general, so will she be in a little water bubble in the Paimon menu? or will she not appear at all.
I remember some npc or something said that Fontaine is a nation where rain never falls despite it being the nation of hydro.
Also Childe could be there to watch over Arlecchino because he believe that when she makes her move, she might betray tge tzaritsa.
What if... some people in Fontaine is actually apparition made with hydro power (like we've seen in Idyia's event quest) , thus explaining the words "swallowed by the water"? and the reason Focalors couldn't control the water because they lack the essence of hydro element (on top of her not holding the gnosys perhaps).
What if people who has been judged as guilty were "sacrificed" for energy, then replaced by those hydro beings?
It'd be funny if Fontain had Oceanids as open-world enemies...

With Fontaine coming, I’m over here binge watching videos of theories of Fontaine. I am a big fanatic on ancient ruins. I just love fantasizing on what it would’ve looked like back then.
Also, mentioning the rain falling, my first thought was the Hydro Archon’s tears.
I feel like Nuvelltie however you spell his name is controlling Focalors to make decisions. But when the rain comes down, it’s the Archon’s tears, finally releasing her feelings. That’s how I saw it when first seeing that part of the trailer.
Leaks says that childe was given his vision to travler to keep on eye on it and i think furina's two colored eyes could be her diffrent personalities or pneuma and ousia like bran says we have to wait and see
About Neuvillette's missing vision - we also don't see Navia's vision in this trailer. So don't let your hopes down, since both will be playable characters.

We quite literally did see her vision. It’s her on left arm. Neuvillette doesn’t have a vision as he has innate elemental powers.
Neuvillette was also missing his Vision in tbe Overture teaser. Caught my eye back then, because we get both the front and the back view of him there but no Vision in sight. So, unless it's in a sole of his shoe or on the nape of his neck, fully covered by his hair, he doesn't have one.
I have a weird theory that might not even make sense but here goes.
The Oratrice has it's own consciousness, so what if it not only judges the criminals but also everyone else present in the court at the same time. Or what if it never stops judging because it doesn't look like the thing can be turned off. And if the part about it being able to judge the hydro archon is true then is she acting like this bratty child so that it can also judge her and produce even more indemnitium? And also, the longer it judges, the less efficient it becomes, like all other machines and the amount of indemnitium produced has drastically reduced since it first judged?

I think the oratrice likely works off the emotions of those around it. We have heard claims of things working like this in the game already with the qingxin supposedly withering when people are distressed or speaking gossip. They also said that the energy in Dragonspine and we see similar from the marrow from Orabashi. Both of them made and left energy from their sheer anger showing emotions have power.
It could also be that the device is connected to the leylines as irminsul seems to be sentient. I kinda wonder if the primordial one is irminsul.

ousia means emptiness
pneuma means fullness
"oratrice mecanique d'analyse cardinale" means "cardinal analysis mechanical speaker". Or judging machine for short
18:54 i think the reason this gives deshret vibes is because it looks a lot like Anubis' scales from Egyptian mythology where Anubis places judgment on the dead which I think is SO COOL to have for the nation of justice

Ahh i dont know if its already been said by someone in the comments or in chat, but it came to my mind when you were asking yourself about the meaning of "indemnity", if it had anything to do with the energy: "Indemnitium"
Well just as a little plus to what we know so far (my theories largely circulating around Fontaine being close to France, therefore also being close to French), but "indemn" is a word in French that means "immune"

The machines monsters is giving me nier vibe, like Hoyoverse use it as inspiration to design fontaine environment as a modern/ futuristic city.

You can also see Dottore (looks like him at least) on the fish-like airship. I wonder what Dottore, Arlecchino and Childe will do together in one quest. Maybe it would be some quick interactions between them. Or maybe we finally get some backstories. I wish we had more of fatui in quests; not like enemies (from Traveler perspective), but morally grey characters who just sharing their stories with us.
I think the set up is clearly going to mirror the French revolution. If the machine generates energy from a belief in justice, what happens when that belief is shattered?
I think the oceanids will be explored in the big world quest yknow like aranara and and the lilipar quests which probably will be cool as frick and it hink theyre tryin´g to "capture" traveler cause at the end of 3.8 livestream there was the fontaine teaser and it was talking about a melusine that will judge outlanders or something so i think when they were about to judge traveler maybe thats when childe jumped in saved him and stayed in to fight and navia protects him outside and since theres no one to judge no energy which means rain which navia notices and if anyone remembers theres a scene where theres a feminine voice talking who am i where am i while looking up at the traveler and we can see the persons design for a few secs well her legs which i think look like the color pallette of an oceanid so i think they will explore the humans that are just oceanids
btw we can see the big quest markers on the map in the SP first when theyre showing of the multilayered map and second when theyre in the city of fontaine so thats cool

I'm looking forward to see Focalore's relationship with the other Archons so far. I reckon that Zhongli and Ei will think she's immature and incapable of leadership. I think that Nahida will probably uncover some hidden truth or just be incredibly curious about Focalors. I that Venti and Focalors will either hate eachother's guts or be best friends-

I think Fontain Raiden playing sytle will be like a Auto+Skill Diluc fight style. It would be smooth, and her burst that could be many. first singel target huge dmg or pistol dualwielding. She can be a lot of things with 2 Weapon types.

Yep and I noticed it too by looking on their back. Their visions normally are there and their visions are gone when they perform in the opera.
Isn't the opera house the same place where they judge people? That might be why.

Pneuma and ousia is fontaine exclusive kinda like the akasha in sumeru because the arkhe is exclusively only made in fontaine. So non fontaine characters wouldnt have them even in the future. Its also the main reason why they are giving away lynette for free because theyre gonna be puzzles and enemies where you would need them.
Ashikai made a vid before the SP weh she explained the new energy source of Fontain and there were redacted documents that heavely implied that they foud a way to mix the pure elemental energy that the giant ruin golems use with abisal energy. wich is scary because it feels that using abisal power migth...cause a reaction from celestia. Also there's a lot of referenes to radioactive inciden regarding that energy source
its so funny to watch all these theories we used to have now that fontaine is fully out
instead of yin and yang, ousia and pneuma feels more like atk and special attack from pokemon. one directly deals with physical attribute while other with more special, spiritual attribute
