Another thing with the Primordial Sea water being in the Fortress is, we have a line where someone says something like "You know those pipes that make strange sounds? Stay far, far away from them at night." I'm shocked no one has talked about this. I know the line plays while Wriothesley's showcase starts so we're all distracted by that, but damn, that line is ominous and indicates there is _something_ in the pipes, whether it be a creature or the Primordial Sea water itself.
Unrelated but it reminds me of the Basilisk in HP and the chamber of secrets LMAO
I'd wager they're tied to the source of the primordial water.
about people not wanting to leave prison, its happens quite a lot tbh. people living in poverty commit crimes specifically to get caught because living in jail provides a place to sleep and food, especially during the winter. some people just love prison life because they're someone there and they're the bottom of the bottom outside of it. some are just plain given up on living out of prison, not seeing a future for themselves out of it
I was thinking this too. I worked in a Jail kitchen in the past and sometimes we would receive very kind notes from some of the inmates, especially during the colder holiday periods, about how they appreciate the quality of the food because they’re homeless and hadn’t had a good meal in awhile. The correctional officers told us it’s shocking sometimes how many people purposefully get arrested just so they have a warm place to sleep and something to eat everyday.
I also feel like there's some hints that people are disappearing and maybe "they don't want to leave" is just used to cover up the fact that they've "disappeared".
Reading this reminded me of Brooks from The Shawshank Redemption movie and how after spending 50 years in prison he couldn't deal with being on the outside upon his release. His daily routine, all his friends on the inside, everything he knew, gone. And it was too much for him in the end...

I wonder about something specific with Furina. Split Consciousness. Eyes are two different shades of the colour blue, speaking to herself during the trial. That line "Why are you trying to kill me" What if Furina's other consciousness is in the Oratrice itself. With Neuvilette attempting to destroy said Oratrice during the big beam of light he's facing in the trailer.

If the Primordial Sea gets unleashed by Furina in response to the Oratrice's destruction. The only being who could stop it would be Neuvilette. Look at Furina's response to Childe's Foul Legacy for my case in point. Furina's seen that before. I want to see Furina go batshit crazy in 4.1.
The scene in the end might be in Neuvilette’s story quest. Looks interesting. But I just realized, we never actually deep dived into how Furina became an Archon. Like Raiden Ei is the twin of Makoto, Nahida being a samsara of Rukkhadevata. There’s no mention of how Furina came to be. Another interesting piece for me
It is because info about archons was realised in the end of main story of region not in the beginning. So it is logical we don’t know her story yet

@@Borovski213 I think they're building her character up step by step (in the background of course) before her backstory actually get revealed, they do this to make players think differently about her while the truth isnt like what they thought her to be, a plot twist I guess
@@Borovski213 thats also because the sages and the people of sumeru stil worshipped greater lord rukk as the sages deemed lesser lord kusanali not as great as her the whole plot of sumeru in essence is freeing nahida and exposing the corrupt scholars. But we didnt get any clue on how nahida came about until afterwards we only knew the sages found her

If Worcestershire tried to freeze the primordial water but it didn't work, that'll be interesting. Meaning Cryo can only freeze hydro but not other forms of water.
IIRC, the primordial one created the water in teyvat which is what we call hydro. The water in teyvat, before the primordial one came, must have been the Primordial water.
Humans were also created by the Primordial One similar to Hydro. Is there some incompatibility with Primordial water and Humans (created by the Primordial One)?
But if that's the case, then the Primordial Water should be able to dissolve people from other nations too, there must be different about Fontaine people.
Childe also mentioned seeing a whale when he went into the abyss. What does this whale have to do with the primordial water? Hope we get them answered in 4.1.
This begs the question of why would the primordial water give non-fontonians hypersensitivity to hydro if it wasn’t related to hydro?

In the Fontaine Teaser, Freminet recieved his Vision, because he was drowning and gave up. With his Vision he can breathe under water, so he doesnt need his helmet. But in the 4.1 Trailer he was actually drowning, meaning his Vision stopped working like Childes?
It seems like it's mainly hydro visions being affected

In his character story, Freminet received his vision after deciding not to drown and to save the other children, as he accepted them as a family.
I really love how people are oversleeping the possible contribution of Freminet to the story just because he still not on action at the first 2 archon quest, considering how his characters and appearance so far are have many hint of the events happened and will happen.
For example is his overall character of crying underwater, whereas it was stated that all the waters including tears from Fontaine will all go to the Fountain of Lucine (we even can heard a voice crying inside it which was speculated to be Furina in her vulnerable state).
Second was his scene at the overture teaser and the whale/leviathan appears beside him which resembles Childe's dream of a whale when he fell onto the abyss (the scene of Freminet at the overture teaser is actually how he got his vision. And it was stated he also heard a solemn voice calling his name which connects to the mysterious voice Lyney heard while investigating the oratrice).
Third is the suspicious scene of Freminet drowning eventhough he clearly stated that he doesn't need any diving device as vision holders are blessed by the element and can breathe underwater. This just mean that something might have happened to his vision which goes back to Childe's vision actually going mulfunction at Act 1. And how it is connected to the concept of primordial sea's primary purpose is to nurture life but now the sea itself is taking lives back.
Fourth is how Freminet first brought us the lore of the hydro dragon and how it cries and cause rain.
Fifth is people forget that Freminet is also a Fatui and under Arlecchino. Just as Arlecchino haven't made her move yet at first 2 acts, same as Freminet. I have high hopes we will finally see him and other Fatuis goes into action this upcoming patch.
The prison and prisoner situation under Wriothesley, probably depends on how they are treated on the outside after they serve their sentences compared to how Wriothesley manages the place
The fact that it wasn't the Celestia that stopped the antigravity experiment could mean that it really is weakened now after the cataclysm and can't do much... We know from some lore in Tsurumi island that Celestia doesn't like civilisations trying to get closer to it.

I think Arlechinno has a much higher degree of control in these acts than people are even theorising about. She literally is posed as a puppeteer in the version artwork. She was already coming to Fontaine ahead of Childes arrest, we know that because the siblings talk about it. But she says shes here to solve the dispute with Childe? About the first incorrect verdict the oratrace has had just after the twins attempt to mess with it? We know Lyney is planned as her sucessor from their lines about eachother and I wonder if she has orchestrated Lynette and Freminets capture under the guise of it being Wriothsley (hence Lyney accusing him) and this is her ultimate test to him both as her harbinger successor but as the new father of the house. To see how far he'll really go for family.
your theory is interesting, but I have to point out that there might be a chance that the oratrice *didn't* give an incorrect verdict. we're led to believe that it did but I am pretty sure that childe awakening "it" - whatever "it" is, that was mentioned by skirk - [ *even if it wasn't him awakening 'it' then, it could still be the same principle just with childe having done something else* ] might've had something to do with the waters of fontaine or smth in regards to the primordial water and with a chain of events that could've led to the happenings of the serial disappearences case so by proxy he could technically be tied to it. meaning that made the oratrice think it was 'right' to declare him guilty alongside vacher

Im gonna take a guess here, Furina's story is gonna be about her insecurity after memory lost due to her secrifice for her people. Memory, emotion and tears. Our quest is to help her regain her memory and power and make her whole again.

personally, it's hard to tell in ENG for me if the voice talking when Neuvilette appeared on the screen was Furina. but when i listened in JP it was crystal clear. it is Furina's voice but gentler.
i'm not a honkai player so idk what's the deal of HI3's twin Seeles. if furina is supposed to be adapted from that Seele, it's either there's Makoto-Ei situation or Rukkadhevata-Nahida situation in that scene involving Neuvilette (in regards of Furina). i can't wait to see how it plays out.

Furina and Seele don't have similar design elements like the other genshin characters who do like Venti, Ei and Yae compared to their Honkai versions.
I don't think it's the same case as with the electro and dendro archons. I think what may have happened is Furina split her consciousness and placed her more knowledgeable side into the Oratrace. It would also explain the different colored eyes as symbolism

I personally think there may have been or is another ruler in Fontaine. If you go to the arena with the dancing robot bosses, there are 3 thrones overlooking the arena. Why 3? Maybe we'll find out eventually or maybe not and it's just a design aspect.
Maybe Furina and the previous archon have some level of connection similar to Makoto and Ei. I've noticed that any archons that replace the other are more or less connected to each other in a sort of familial way. Makoto and Ei were sisters and Ei technically gave the role of archon to the Shogun who could be considered her daughter since Scara is considered a son to her. Similarly Ruka and Nahida could be seen as mother and daughter with Ruka having created Nahida to take over. Maybe Furina and the previous archon were blood related or at least family or close in some sense. If that's the case Furina may have sat alongside her and Neuvillette and Furina's conversations with Neuvillette occurred before she became archon.

My theory, with no evidence to back up, is that Furina is actually a Hydro Eidolon copy of the original Hydro Archon. I thought it was weird that there was this big thing about Rukkhadevata's death and Kusanali's birth and how she was the newest and youngest Archon, but there is nothing like that for the Hydro Archon. We know that the previous Hydro Archon died around the same time period as Rukkhadevata (during the Cataclysm) and that she became the Amrita Pool in Sumeru. Why is it that Focalors isn't thought of in the same fashion as Kusanali? I get that it could just be a difference in the attitudes of the people of Sumeru and Fontaine, but I feel, plot-wise, there is something else there.

maybe neuvillete is the same species as elynas, cuz remember in the world quest where elynas says that he had siblings as well and that they came from a place that was not the human world and i think that their like the leviathan race and neuvillete is a part of them. just my assumption

Then , why would Tartaglia go to the prison in the first place. So, this could happen if a trial was placed under the machine for investigation and Nuevillete was the judge . Another possibility is that the traveller goes into fighting mode against purple girl and then he loses and goes to Jail. Or else what could happen is that actually this stuff I just told never actually happens. (commented twice)

I want to say, that accoring to Rene's research primordial waters can not only gather people's consciousness into a single form, but it can also be used to transfer that consciousness, for example, to machines. 1) Maybe, that's what might be happening in the fortress somehow. 2) Maybe past Furina partially transferred her consciousness to Oratrice or something like that (cuz she is an Arcon, not an ordinary human). So current Furina actually doesn't have powers. Like Venti once said, Archons gain powers from their people's belief, but here all the powers go to Oratrice and then Oratrice converts it to the Indemnidium. Maybe you can even call the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale an Archon

Hmm, something i want to say, i personnaly agree with you with the voice we heard at the end of the trailer speaking to/about Neuvillette. Even if i feel we can make link with Furina with english VA, with the Japanese one it is really obvious, and this is 100% Furina who's talking. But the question about when this voice line take place (before/after the creation of the Oratrice) still the same. But yes he you have any doubt just check the Japenese voice actress from the 4.0 trailer and this one, you won't miss it for sure.

There was a bit in the 4.0 trailer that made us believe that people in Fontaine were also slowly loosing their memories of themselves, which turned out to be from the missing girls case. But I wonder if they actually hinted that Focalors was slowly loosing herself. Because when we met her, she acted like a teenage brat, not like an archon, but her voice here, which seems from the past is very grown up and wise sounding.
I'm not entirely sure on that. We have to remember that although she is a god and an archon, Furina is one of the archons who wasn't around during the calamity. She has never seen war with her own two eyes, nor has she probably had any reason to actually fight. Therefore she has no reason to actually grow up persay, since Fontaine kinda runs itself in a way. With the Oratrace and all that, if Furina were to disappear nothing would really change

Perhaps my claim of her never seeing war is wrong, but I can definitely tell you she never fought IN war simply based off her reaction to the idea of a fight. @@hyper45325 I think you're confused so let me make it clear: Nahida is the ONLY ONE who wasn't around during the calamity. She is the ONLY ONE born in the aftermath. Every other current archon is something like Beelselbul where they existed alongside the previous archon and likely helped them rule. The Tsaritsa for example is well known by Zhongli and Venti despite not being the original cryo archon. They consider the Tsaritsa an old friend who distanced themself from them.

News of the traveler fighting Ei has not reached Fontaine as far as I'm aware, heck even Inazumans don't know because it happened inside her consciousness. She is an archon ffs! theory, the whole rest of fontain everyone will be working against furina and the oritrace with arrlecino not doing anything bad till the end of the quests as we try to figure out why childe is gulity and why the oritrace thinks this.
About why some prisoners don’t wanna leave after serving their sentences, I’ve heard stuff from the US about some people intentionally doing a crime to go to prison because they’d have better ressources like food for example. And considering Fontaine’s class division and the state of the underground, is it possible some prisoners don’t wanna leave because what they have in the prison is better than out there?

they confirmed just after the trailer that Arlecchino asked to investigate, and it's her who asked for someone to be sent to that prison (talk with combat director just after trailer on stream)
there are also big clues to what thhe story will be:
voices in the pipes, and primordial water in the prison. That and the fact that apparently they reduce the number of prisoners in that prison. Since Lyney heard voices in oratrice's basement, it's possible oratrice is ran by water, and someone is sending watery remains of dissolved ppl in prison into it, hence giving them power to manipulate the oratrice. Also, since this prison is more of a gather place for exiles, they might be planning to overthrow Furina, hence why that voiceline in the trailer.
