not necessarily, cuphead particularly as they mentioned, most likely would have existed even if other indie games didn’t exist, the reason is apparently the brothers always wanted to make a game but never got the chance until they did. Same with other indie games and game genres, surely it would happen eventually maybe just in different orders and completely different games

Surprised they didn't mention the ninja flash game "N". Always felt like a direct predecessor to Super Meat Boy that was WILDLY popular for a time
I was obsessed with that game in polytechnic.
I own Super Meat Boy, but I've realized I no longer have the patience for games that will require me to spend hours and hours just to clear a small handful of levels.
I've been on the final level for literally 9 years lol. Feels bad

Finally someone did a video that super meat boy deserves, super meat boy was the impulse for the indie videogames world, without it probably games like cuphead and others didn't exist today. I just freaking love super meat boy and it's my favorite indie videogame. Good video man
Super Meat Boy just feels so good to play, when I played it for the first time on my friends 360 I was in love, beat it in 2 days at his house and 1 day when I got it on my Wii U in 2016. About to get 100% again as of writing, a true classic and one of my favorite platformers.

Newgrouds was amazing. Yet oddly, regardless of still havjng access to my OG accounts and also how much I miss the glory days, I just never end up on the site for more than like 15 minutes. Just doesn't hit the same way it used too :(

The binding of isaac rebirth in my opinion is the greatest indi game out there. Its a game you can always play and because of the randomized runs its always different when you play
Agreed! Man I played that game so damn much! I love the fact that you can also play other people’s seeded games.
This god damn game ,I always go back to it from time to time then give up in frustration and put it away again till I get the itch.
