Thank you so much, Diana, for sharing your language learning experience.
I started learning Chinese because when I traveled to China last month, none of the store employees understood English at all. So, I decided to start learning to improve my experience when I go back to China again. It will make ordering food much easier. 🤣 I'll take your advice and especially focus on journal writing.
P.S. You look really beautiful in this clip. ☺

Although I have gotten to a very comfortable in Japanese (and your reasons for learning it are great!), I have struggled in other languages (one of those being 普通话) because I haven’t had an urgency to learn. Therefore, I liked hearing your advice for motivating ourselves. And I think I have found that with Brazilian Portuguese. Even though I’m still debating how much study time to devote to other Asian languages because I plan to study Portuguese very hard, I would still like to study those Asian languages because I connect very well with people who speak those languages.
As someone who has bounced around the idea in his head of starting a YT channel, your suggestion for doing it in the target language is excellent. Even if it’s a very bad video, I can at least upload one Japanese language video a week. As another CZcamsr has said in one of her videos, “Make your mistakes when no one else is watching!”
I look forward to your future videos! 再见!
