Backcountry Buck Camp: Montana Public Land Hunt 2022 (Part 1)

- This is the first part of our 2022 mule deer hunt! We decided to take a jet boat 10 miles into the backcountry of northern Montana to set camp, and it paid off big! After an extremely challenging climb, we put a successful stalk on a herd of mule deer and a good friend was fortunate enough to take his first one. It was an all time experience. We set camp along the Missouri River, and the views were simply stunning. There's nothing like being in challenging situations in the mountains with your friends! Bump the hotel - get a tent!

Awesome video! Some nice country. You might try the gutless method next time. It is what I do now, pull the top half of the hide, pull the quarters, backstrap, roll it over on the hide and repeat. Take the tenderloins out last.

Gutless method is a really good technique especially since you just quartered it up on the spot. Saves a step and time
It looked like a cultivated field on the first shot, was that public or Block Management?
There’s a block up there, can’t remember if it’s BLM or FS, that has a large corner that extends out into that Ag. All of those ridges down to the water are public mostly, and a few areas extend into the Ag that basically just surrounds that basin for miles.
I like it, but you might need a new cameraman. Made me dizzy. Won't watch vids that do that to me.
