Backcountry Buck Camp Part 2: Northern Montana

Welcome back to Unguided! I am pleased to finally post the 2nd half of our 2022 Montana mule deer hunt! After a successful hunt in the Missouri River Breaks, we headed north to try and fill more tags. With winter storm Alejandra bearing down on us, time was limited to get the job done. Conditions deteriorated, but the Unguided crew was up to the challenge! I was able to harvest my second ever "Muley" in the last moments of shooting light, just south of the Canadian border, in the middle of a snow storm. This is the kind of thing we live for! Much like Part 1, I will go through the full process of breaking down a deer in the field and packing it out, but this time we will show how we prepare it to cook and eat, deep in the Montana backcountry.
This will conclude our 2022 fall season content as we are shifting gears back to the ocean. The 2023 SC Wahoo Series has begun, and we couldn't be more excited! More great content from the deep blue is coming soon!
