I'm finding these interviews to be really interesting. Great work once again, Keston. One of the first things I did after getting into PCH/GA comics and hearing about the Gerber Photo Journals was to go looking for copies. I think there was a "warehouse find" or something and you can probably get both volumes still in plastic wrap for around $100 total. I got mine a year or two ago. Talk about a trip through fantasy land.

Thanks, CT! Yeah, I got my set for about $100 I think. Great deal for that price imho! I often think about how big that project was...My God, my hat is off to the Gerbers.

A world of knowledge coming from Matt. I wish CGC would focus on this instead of all the other fluff. Great video as always bud

Thanks, Laurence. I understand that Matt likely has to talk about front-line CGC stuff for the typical collector but man I love when he goes deep into history or technical aspects of silver and golden age books.

Hi, Bry! Thanks so much for the comment. Agree. Folks like Gerber and Overstreet really helped the hobby develop. To me, Matt is a bridge between the old school guys and the modern hobby.

I contributed the star spangled and the two popular comics to the sticker set the ComicBook marketplace mag included

I only own one gerber no show. And when I bought it I had no idea. Joker 42 Timely. Seen many for sale so I’m sure it’s not rare. Great content in this video! Thanks

That's a fun collecting challenge. Imagine a shortbox filled with these missing Gerber books.

Shane! That would be cool. It's a tough challenge because it might start off quickly but the last 20 or 30 books might be torture to get...but that's what makes it good :-)

You are the man, Omega! Too bad you don't have them anymore. I've never owned the triad but do have some other cool L.B. Cole books. Always good to hear from ya.

I used to collect rare Gerbers, 7, 8, 9, Etc. The rarest comic I owned was called “Survey,” a Marvel advertising comic from 1948 or so. 1 copy. That’s it. Bought it on Heritage; sold it through Heritage. Sold it in about 2011. Wish I hadn’t. I even had a Red Raven 1, missing the centerfold. Bought it for about $60 in 1974 or so.

Awesome. Thanks CLG for sharing! They are fun to hunt down. That Survey book sounds interesting, and oh to be able to purchase a Red Raven 1 for under $100!

Wow I would love if stickers of the missing covers would come out to complete the guides. I’d be interested. Reminds me of completing the sticker books that came out every year for baseball, football, etc when I was a kid.
