I think his father will be revealed in the last few episodes. Ash will be facing the returning champ which will be revealed to be his father. They have a big battle until it's only Ash's Pikachu and his father's Raichu standing. They be the biggest battle to ever be in the series. It end with both of them creating a huge thunderbolt, destroying the stadium ( no one dies). Pikachu and Raichu are both still standing until Pikachu falls, making Ash's father the winner. Ash is sad but his father tells him he's one of the greatest opponents he's ever faced. His father ask him to go along with him on their own journey together, which Ash agrees too. Jessie and James resign from Team Rocket and settle down with each other. Misty (or which ever shipping you like) becomes Ash's girlfriend, Brock gets a girlfriend, and everyone else is doing fine. It ends with Ash, His father, Pikachu, and Raichu walking into the sunrise, beginning their epic journey.

Well Giovani can be Ash's father. He must have turned bad and abandoned Delia. And Delia can't tell Ash this bitter truth so she told Ash that his father is on a journey which is a lie.
About Giovani attacks, well how can Giovani remember Ash if he left when Ash was very young.
And Delia also would have never shown Giovanni's photograph to Ash, so Ash doesn't know how his father looks like.
And we all know that Delia and Giovani were never shown together in anime so its possible.
And Delia contacted Giovani when ash was 10 year old and sent team roket(jessi and james) to look after her pretending to be bad guys help him train through battling him every episode but never actually hurt him ...

Personally, I think it's good that Ash's father isn't anywhere in the picture. It makes Ash easy to relate to for children who's dad died, or left them. Personally, I prefer someone like Ash as a role model for my kids over someone like Gumball or Uncle Grandpa. Ash is strong, adventurous, determined, and willing to go the extra mile to achieve his dreams. He's friendly, loyal, easy to get along with despite his strong characteristics, caring. He's everything a man should be, in my opinion. All the characters in shows these days are too damn wacky.

In my opinion, Silver's reaction kind of does seem acceptable. Ritchie didn't mention a last name, so there really wasn't the need for a "holy balls, this kid knows my son" reaction. It was more like "he knows a kid with my son's distinct name, could it be him?". There was no last name, no further description, so really it sort of fit.
You know what? Silver doesn't just say "Ash?", he says "You know Ash?". This is not an explanation, this is THE explanation.

Ash's father's name is Pete Ketchum. I saw it in the manga-based game called Pokemon Adventure Red Chapter. In Lavender Town, in the graveyard, Delia was standing in front of Pete's tombstone while talking about how he was a good man and such. So I think Ash's father is Dead already.

Ash can use Aura and communicate with Pokemon on a much higher level than any ordinary trainer. He managed to become the object of Latias's attraction and his aging is incredibly slowed.
Pokemon inherit species from their mother and moves from their father. Ash, a human, could obtain these Pokemon-like traits if his father WAS a Pokemon.
In fact, there is an egg group called "Human-like." With all the other cross-species breeding Pokemon are capable of, it's not inconceivable for members of this egg group to be able to reproduce with their namesake. And do you know what Pokemon is classified under this group?

he’ll probably show up in a different way then you expect, maybe he's gonna be shown on the anime as a pokemon because, in lets go eevee or pichachu theres a person who turned into a pokemon and then was turned back, so someone else might have made a food item that had transforming powers. It might be off the line of proof, but if thats not the case, maybe he’ll be completely different from ash.

Nah Ash's Dad is Red it makes perfect sense also in one of the episodes of the diamond and pearl anime ash has a flashback to his past when he's about 4 or 5 years old and you see a trainer who looks alot like red and takes off his hat and hands it to ash then walks away to the distance so that pretty much comfirms red is ash's father(not the video game version but an anime incarnation of red is ash's father) but thats a very obscure episode among thousands and was only released in japan and only aired twice so it makes sense that most people don't know about it i only know about because i took 3 months of my life back in 2014 and binge watched all pokemon episodes including the specials, movies, japan only, and band episodes

I think Ash’s Pikachu was originally Silver’s Pokemon but Silver gave Pikachu to Professor Oak. Silver keeps his chikorita on his shoulder and he might have kept Pikachu on his shoulder as well and that might be the reason why Pikachu refuses to go inside his pokeball
