I literally gasped when you dnf’d Mr Magic. Then I laughed my head off that I was so invested in this. 🤣😂 Book drama - it’s high stakes decisions being made here.

I can say that at least for the Mister Magic the characters acting younger than their actual age had an actual logical/psycogical explanation. I read it pretty quick but found most things obvious.

I liked Mister Magic. I think them seeming younger made sense to me, because of the trauma they endured.
I read Mister Magic and for some random reason I read the acknowledgements before (i never do this) and the author talks about growing up Mormon. I think the entire story is an allegory for being a member of the Mormon church. Honestly, had I not read the acknowledgements first I probably would've DNF'd because it is super confusing. BUT since i knew that I could really appreciate some of the connections she was making from the show to her experience.
That’s so interesting- as someone who left the Mormon church and who has this on her TBR, I can’t wait to see some of those connections
Fall of The House of Usher is top tier! That ending and how it all came together👏🏻❤️
Mr. Magic sounds so much like a story on creepy pasta named 'Candlecove'. It's a pretty short story and gives you the creep that you've been searching for.
As someone who watches asmr every night, the skeleton hands on the camera was heavenly 😂😂

While I was reading Mister Magic I thought that the children were traumatized and it caused arrested development. I finished it and gave it 3 stars.
I gave it 3.5 because at least it kept me interested, even though I guessed great part of the story.
@bloggagens My interest fluctuated. It would grab me then bore me. I do not want to give examples due to spoilers, but I am glad that you were able to enjoy it more than I did.
Came back to watch this IMMEDIATELY after finishing Night’s Edge. I agree, 4 stars. So unique and exciting. And SO GAY! I wasn’t expecting that. What a fantastic surprise

I watched the whole series of "The Fall of the House of Usher" over one weekend ... it was so good! The thought of that bug being big enough to make a thudding noise when it landed on your backpack ... ugh! ... the visual now in my head is going to give me nightmares!

I felt this was exactly... i was very excited for this book to come out but was really NOT into the end of this book. I felt like I was reading a book meant for 10 year olds. Biggg sad!

I only started watching your videos a few months ago during summerween and I'm really starting to understand how different our tastes are. 😂 Obviously there's nothing wrong with that, but I literally said "NO!" out loud when you DNF'ed Mr. Magic. I gave that book 5 stars and totally loved it! Lol! But I kinda figured out what was going on early on in it. And I did read some of the acknowledgements about halfway through the book, and figured out the story she was trying to tell through this one and it made me enjoy it more. But I can totally understand the confusing side of it too.

My roommate is a vampire was so hard to get into because that man was 65 in my eyes! Like how was I ever supposed to like him?? 😂
So... mister magic. If you DO end up picking it back up...read the authors note. I felt like that changed a lot of my perspectives about the book and meanings. And maybe I'm reading too much into it.... but I thought it was a very interesting metaphor.

No I loved Mister Magic! Reading the authors note is so important I think. I loved the religious/cult trauma aspect of it. Black River Orchard was brilliant! Absolutely loved it. The body horror was so good. It needs to be a movie

A lot of the new covid variants aren't showing up on rapid tests. Some advise swabbing your throat and then your nose for better test result or a pcr test from your provider. Unfortunately, covid can kind of hurt your immune system making you more susceptible to picking up other things...so that could be why you keep getting sick if you picked up covid in Japan. Hope you start to feel better soon. Being sick is no fun.
I finished Mister Magic and I did not like it. Wasted hours of my life I'll never get back. I wish I had DNF this one too!

Mister Magic was so disappointing. I read it as an ARC and it was so incredibly boring and the ending was like big whoop. It was very abstract. I would have DNF'd too if it hadn't been an ARC. I gave it 2.5 stars only because the author's note said that it was an allegory to her religious trauma and I appreciate the courage it took to write it. But it just didn't work for me.
