I think you should see a claims solicitor as soon as possible. You can’t let them just ask for a email to consider your claim. You should be appropriately compensated for all that’s happened and any long term concerns.

Yes please Kim, get your own solicitor, the bus company’s solicitor will only be looking to minimise your compensation, they are paid to look after the bus company, not you.
I agree with everyone kim, get a solicitor, a no win no fee , you need compensation to help with your bills and all you've gone through, I did very simular, an accident that was someone else's fault , I broke my arm above my elbow in 3 places it was awful, they tried to deny it so I was advised to get a solicitor,, I won the case
Yes I agree ,if you don’t have a solicitor ,they will skip sideways and say it was not the bus drivers fault.A no win no fee solicitor as has been suggested.x
100% go to a no win no fee solicitor, you’re in for thousands of compensation, don’t leave it to the bus company to offer you a pittance, take em to the cleaners, they are totally liable 🤷🏻♀️
Even if the bus company don’t think they are liable don’t take their word for it. Get some legal advice and let the lawyers decide if you likely have a case. They ( the solicitors) won’t take you on if they don’t think you’ll win. Make sure you choose a firm that specialises in accident claims- they know all the tricks.

My Goodness Kim, I can’t believe how much you’ve gone through and only had email contact with the bus company. This has been truly traumatic for you, and it’s only because you are such an independent and stoic person that you have coped like you have. I’m not preaching, but you REALLY MUST see a solicitor as soon as you possibly can. We all love you and want justice for all you’ve been through. I also can’t believe how work have treated you, obviously thinking only of their own legal position and covering their own backs. Sorry to rant Kim, but it’s only because I CARE!!!!❤xx
So pleased you operation went well Kim. Your painkillers make you feel sick on an empty stomach. Have a biscuit or just something sugary before taking them. Hope you continue to improve Kim. You will be exhausted once you first get back to work. Please take it a lot easier. xx
I take heavy duty pain killers daily and you must eat with them or they will burn your tummy and make you feel sick. I hope she listens to you!
Please see a claims solicitor, I would not trust the bus company to sort any kind of decent compensation for you. You wont have to pay as it comes out of the settlement and they are independent. Your attitude is amazing after what you have been through, take care. X
Of course they are liable & they will try and get out of it ,, this accident will affect you especially over winter , your arm will ache , you need to get compensation, they owe you that. Dont be struggling along, you shouldn't need to get stressed , get a solicitor
So pleased your operation went well and like many other people you may need an independent claim company for your accident as you may get a lot of movement back but long-term you will have problems withyour arm and they take a long time I mean years also if you only get statutory sick pay you can apply for universal credit and housing benefit don’t put yourself at risk because of the money and if necessary tell your landlord that you’ve had and that you was hurting her accident and the rent money may be late But you are applying for financial support at this time. Kim, get a solicitor. You won’t have to pay anything up front, they will take a percentage of your payout. Having a solicitor will make thousands of pounds worth of difference. Anyway, other than that I’m so pleased to see you feeling better and you really are so amazing - still chirpy after all you’ve been through. Keep on getting better xx big hugs 😘😘

As many others have said you should get a solicitor involved, there are plenty that specialise in injury claims, they know every trick is in the book that the bus and insurance company will try and use to wriggle out of paying. You should be compensated for what happened to you and the distress it has caused. Take care Kim, wishing you a speedy recovery.

So glad the operation went well. You should definitely speak to a local firm of solicitors who deal with personal injury claims. I used to work for a firm who dealt specifically with personal injury claims and you definitely have a claim. The main thing you need to take into account is future losses. If your arm/hand is damaged that will affect your future loss of earnings and you should he compensated for that. The bus company will do anything to not have to pay out. So glad you’ve had your surgery and are on the mend! Good news that your radial nerve was preserved. I hope you can recover without any permanent disability. I don’t know what the injury law is like in the UK, but in Canada a personal injury lawyer will take a case on a contingency basis and take their fee from any settlement they can secure for you. You are not at fault for your injury and have suffered significant losses which may result in some permanent disability and you should be compensated for that. You never know how it may affect your ability to work in the future. I know it’s not my business, but I would suggest consulting legal representation as soon as possible. 💕

I doubt you are the only one from the crash that will put a claim in. ( some will have done it the same day and undoubtedly won’t have a severe injury as you) Glad you’re getting on the mend xxx
Glad you had the OP Kim .I was having an OP at Airedale Hospital last Thursday.Yes they are such a friendly Hospital lovely staff .When i couldnt eat after an earlier OP the dieticions put me on some drinks i was given 3 huge boxes of them called FORTIJUICE .Ask about them if you still cant eat ?.I told you what happened to me with our bus service accident .It was nearly the same as you only mine happened in Bingley .They paid up, i got a few Hundred ,cant remember exactly,so Glad you are trying too .Solicitor got me my claim, Not the bus company get one Kim .Good Luck :)

Glad you are making progress. I was on the bus the other day, I always used to get up before the stop but thought of your accident and decided to stay seated until the bus stopped! Get that claim in! Don't take no for an answer.

Ooooohhhhh pet, no wonder you were in such pain. That was some surgery. I always found Rich Tea or Digestive biscuits really good when you are feeling nauseous but need to eat. Take the very best care of yourself petal xxxxx group time will be a learning curve for you Kim but you will be great. Xx

Kim I have said it b4 you need your own solicitor so that they can represent you to bus company or the car insurance company.... do not let them get away with this you really have been through it and don't play anything down. Good luck
Please don’t leave it up to the bus company to decide if they’re liable. They will never admit liability. You definitely need a solicitor asap.

I’m not sure how your accident happened but years ago when my daughter was only 5 the bus driver drove off before we were seated which meant she fell and banged the side of her face giving her a black eye, she was given compensation, as they are meant to wait until your seated before driving off, don’t let the bus company get away with not paying you compensation because of their failures, because as you said, you may never get back the full operation of your arm, hope your feeling much better soon ❤
Will you be able to stay at that job you love ,you deserve a big payout ,don’t settle for peanuts get a solicitor because they’ll try it on and knowing you you’ll feel bad about complaining , look after yourself ❤❤❤

Their default and first response will be they are not at fault. Please get a solicitor and take them for what you are due. As an 18 year old i was threatened by an WMDC manager who said my accident was not claimable because i forgot to sign the sodding accident book. They were 💯 % at fault and 50 years and 3 operations later my back is knackered. Had 18year old me had a solicitor things would have been very very different
Totally agree with what you are saying, I had an accident which has left me with lasting hip damage, because I have a long term illness they screwed me over. You need to make sure you get good legal representation for everything as you do not know what’s going to happen in the future!

You've been through such a lot of pain and a debilitating life because of this accident. Yes, it was that driver's fault, I hope they don't try and wriggle out of it. You may need a solicitor.

Glad to hear you've had op I had similar accident but at work. Was window dresser fell off ladder, broke wrist and severed tendon in thumb. Had op really frightened but glad I did . Was 60 whilst off work so finished. Happy days all well with arm now

Don't trust the bus company I was in this position go to a no win no fee solicitors they the best fight them for all you can get get report from the hospital and write a statement yourself detailing your accident sorry to hear what happened to you speedy recovery

I’m with a lot of other people, you need to contact a no win no fee solicitor, the bus company will try to fob you off and won’t fight your corner at all. Get yourself legal advice, even talk to citizens advice, they will be able to guide you too but a lawyer/solicitor is the best. You have alot of out of pocket expenses now and if you are going to have lasting damage you are due alot of money! Look after yourself girl! ….. ps where is that gorgeous top from, did I miss a haul? I’ve just thought Kim if your going to need the painkillers for some time ask for anti sickness tablets! Also make sure you have a wee rich tea with them so your tummy isn’t empty girl!

Hi Kim so glad you’re recovering well but like a lot of the comments on here I agree get a solicitor. The bus company will pay insurance to cover incidents like this so don’t be too nice and settle for a pittance which is what they will try and fob you off with if you do it yourself.
