You can also use that air compressor behind you to blow off any loose dirt
Good Tip
My only work boots have been wolvos, don’t look super pretty but damn strong and after they’ve gotten wet and had many miles on em they got super soft. Mine aren’t leather but still super durable
I do 2 to 3 coats of boot polish followed by candle wax and a hairdryer
Worth the buy and try. First timer here. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
I bet it didn't turned out great.
I prefer ariats for boots because I don’t have to worry about laces breaking and they won’t get snagged on anything.
I love the intro, very cool
Someone told me to heat the leather before applying anything, that way pores are open, and will take more of that oil in. I also use leather grease with bee wax, and it lasts longer than a week
Thats a great tip!
Thanks for sharing-I saturate my boots with mink oil from new but future I will do more often and I forgot about brush for cleaning!
I wear Bate GX 8 Ultra Lights they keep my feet dry warm and my toes are safe without a steel toe. Because they have a carbon fiber toe. Carbon fiber does not get cold like steel and is lighter than steel by a lot. Come in sizes normal, wide and Extra Wide.
Those sound like serious boots!
@@grumpy1311 They are lightweight warm and comfortable. I wore them in the Fire service as my duty boots.
Carbon fiber toe sounds nice! But personally I hate "tactical style" boots. Just not my cup of tea
What about the stiching? That seems to be where the water enters my boots, and wax doesn't seem to do much to plug them up.
Have always lived by Redwings for work, but am also trying some Blundstone pull-ons for casual hiking and light work.
Never ever had a good pair of Red Wings. Inferior materials. Wasted $200 each time. I had better boots out of Herman's Survivors from Walmart for a quarter of the price. Never buying Red Wings again.
@@ramblin_man23 what damn are you buying 😂 I had a pair of redwings last a year and a half doing landscaping getting constantly dunked in mud water (which is terrible for leather) and multiple trips getting firewood. I have a pair of Justin’s now but I love red wings.
please make a video on how to waterproof (specially the seams) of boots with fabrics like nubuck
Nice video brother. I wish videos like yours would get more views. But people get sponsored products etc.
i love Huberd, the problem is, its will darken my light color boots.
What about Kiwi Spray? Comparison? Great video.
kiwi can crack your boot.
Can't beat Mink oil.
Not a fan of the plastic welt and fabric lining in Thorogood boots. Red Wings are all leather.
I like my Justin’s
Just saw some water proof one on sale for 50 buck new for some reason I love them a fan now
I am thinking about getting leather boots to waterproof them so my feet don't get wet when riding my bike in the rain. My question is, if I waterproof them would they still breathe...?
Buy some goretex lined ones instead. Leather is shit to ride with
Darkens the hell out of leather boots. Good stuff though.
How long do these Thorogood boots last? I am not from the USA and buy locally made "Oliver" brand boots, They are very comfortable but I only get about 2 years out of them. I do use them every day here on the farm. So they get a work out. But I'd like to get more than 2 years out of a pair of boots
I can get thorogoods but they are double the cost of the Olivers.
I'd love to hear from anyone using thorogoods and how long they get from them with what kind of use
I get a comfortable year out of every pair. Thats wearing them every day for 8 hours+. After a year, the soles start to become uncomfortable. Depending on how much you oil them, you can expect them to last 2-3 years before the leather cracks and tears beyond use.
Like all other products except sno-seal you have to apply over and over every year no seal you seal it once and you may have just touch it up if you didn't get a heavy enough later on I sno-seal two pair of boots 1982 I never had to reseal them until I bought a new pair of boots in 97 and I just recently bought a brand new pair of boots Sno seal them and water beads off like a duck in water and I'm not paid by sno-seal adjust lifetime experience and I sno-seal my anything leather or canvas just follow the instructions on old bottle or can in one application or two application should last the boot the lifetime
What brand of boot is that you have in the pond?
Thorogood
Nice video. I love thorogood also. Remember though, waterproofing cuts down on breathability. Can very well lead to stinky feet.
I would much rather have dry feet than slightly less breathable boots and wet boots equals stinky feet even faster…
@@JJ-lu6mg not much experience with boots? No worries, it will come in time. Learn from the mistakes.
Getting the insides of your boots wet, and not drying them out is actually what gives you stinky feet.
I can sweat in them all day everyday with no stinky, as soon as they get wet and don’t dry out fast enough…… boom, stinky feet.
I waterproof as best I can but when they get wet inside in the winter I freak out I’m ruining them.
I’m getting myself a good boot dryer because no matter what I do I get water in them when riding my motorcycle in the rain.
Why you call them boots they have laces
Dont boots have laces ?
Ok old timer 🙄
My Airborne Jump BOOTs have laces as well as my Combat BOOTs. What are they since they have laces?
But that shit stinks big time if the boss calls you in to the office guess what all you smell is your boots
I disagree, I think Hubbards smells pleasant. And it's definitely not a powerful odor. You will not smell the product once the boots are on your feet.
@@OldSoulMillennial obviously
Once a week !!??.. Doesn't sound like a good product to me brother.. Thanks for letting us know.
All boots are the same once they are broken in.. Try old car oil its free.
