    Very interesting, but Jochen 'submarined' in the car which is what killed him - you can see this in the actual film of the car after impact - with his legs sticking out and, I think, one foot severed. He seems to be sitting up here !! He almost certainly was dead at the scene because his throat was cut by the belt buckle. Jackie Stewart saw him soon afterwards and said he knew Jochen was dead because there was no blood pumping out of his horrendous foot injury - meaning of course that his heart had stopped.

    Jochen Rindt had no problem to control the wingless car. He was outstanding in regards to car control. Just look at the existing footage before the accident happened. The right front brakeshaft broke when he put on the brakes before the Parabolica. He even delayed the braking because he realized that sth was going wrong. The same mechanical failure happened on John Miles' car at Zeltweg 2 weeks before under not so severe circumstances.

      @@psfonseka That had Nothing to do with it. Guessing should rarely be used in the comment section. He didn't use the submarine belts because he didn't like how they felt. He submarined because of the centrifugal force of that spin, his legs went out where the foot box was and the shoulder belts cut his throat.

Grazie

    Certo che era sfortunato, come pilota. L'anno prima aveva già avuto un'altro grave incidente, in Spagna, e si ruppe il setto nasale.
    L'ho letto in un libro sulla f1 molti anni fà..c'era anche una foto, in bianco e nero, in cui si vedeva il pilota imprigionato nelle lamiere e i soccorritori. Uno alle sue spalle lo sosteneva, l'altro con un panno lo pultiva.

    Didn’t the car wreck. Because the inboard break shaft broke. Didn’t Rindt get dragged/ pushed out because of Gs after the car ripped it’s nose and pedal box off when hitting the guard rail? Didn’t Rindt not have a 5-6 point seat belt. Is why he went under the dash and wheel? Didn’t the seat belt, steering wheel and dash. Break his neck? Wasn’t his right foot severed. Wasn’t there no bleeding? Meaning his heart had stopped as his neck was broken? Cutting off all involuntary electrical nerve signals from the brain to the heart? I’m just asking.

    Really great video man, I saw it months ago and just figured it out. Rindt's accident was very similar to Senna's. Most probably same as Lauda's, surely a mechanical part failed in all 3.

    • @matthewmaltais323
      @matthewmaltais323 Před 5 lety +3

      It could have been a mechanical failure, also another theory is that the car became very unstable under braking due to the removal of the rear wing

    • @SirOliverNorwell
      @SirOliverNorwell Před 3 lety +1

      The right front brakeshaft broke, that's for sure. The same mechanical failure happened two weeks before at Zeltweg on John Miles' car. He had the luck that it didn't happen after a high-speed straight before a corner like the Parabolica. Jochen Rindt had no problem to control the wingless car. He was an absolutely outstanding driver in regards to car control. When the brakeshaft broke he became a passenger. Had he known what would happen he wouldn't have put on the brakes. Perhaps he then would have been able to save his life.

      @@lorenzoboato8818 Yes, a very young Emerson Fittipaldi suffered a brutal accident during a practice season in the same Grand Prix where Rindt died, also driving the Lotus 72, he said that the brakes didnt worked and Chapman blamed him saying that he braked to late. It was a very fast and very crappy car, just like every Lotus of the 60's and 70's. Chapman killed at least 3 drivers, Jim Clark, Jochen Rindt and Ronnie Peterson.
