Tragedy struck in Giunti his first race in 1971 whilst racing in the 1000 km Buenos Aires race, when his Ferrari 312PB prototype ploughed into the back of the Matra 660 of Jean-Pierre Beltoise, who was pushing the car along the track after it had run out of fuel. The impact and the subsequent fire gave the popular Italian no chance of survival.

After Pryce had been struck by the fire extinguisher, the car( with Pryce now dead behind the wheel) carried on further along the straight before crashing into Jacques Laffite's car taking him out and coming to rest in a fence at the end of the straight. Jacques was intially very angry and got out of the car to confront Pryce but soon realised what had happened with Pryce.
Wait I don’t totally understand. A guy ran across the track and got hit by a car? Then these people like the driver didn’t care or something they just looked over and we’re like yup that’s normal?
Because the driver is also deceased.. he has been hit in the head by the fire extinguisher the marshall was carrying…

The driver of the burning car double taking after the kid got hit…. Dude did not need to see that in his lifetime. No one did. Rip to the both of them the Marshall and Tom pryce❤️you will be missed. Luckily this rarely would likely happen now safety procedures now are on point but hey. Anything is possible life is short.

The marshals should have waited until the track was clear. The driver of the 17 was out safely, and shouldn’t have ran back towards the car. This was a preventable accident
He was quite young so he must’ve not have the experience. It’s shocking to know, that your life can end in a mere second. A good reason to do good whenever you get the chance to do so.

No disrespect to anyone but ive been a Marshall for almost 40 years. One thing you cant do when all hell breaks loose is overeact and thats unfortunately what i see here not only with the marshalls but the driver It was a flash fire that went out as soon as he caught and did so twice The marshalls had no reason to cross a track where the cars are doing a football field a second and from what i understand did so without direction from their cheif The other video shows no fire when the Marshall set the bottle off Emergency services or marshalls on that side of the track should have responded
They both noticed... But they couldn't just stop putting the car out, I can't imagine what ran through there minds as they saw that laying on the ground

Looking left wouldn't help. The cars are coming around a bend and up a hill. They're coming into view with less than a second before passing that point. the first car managed to swerve and miss a marshallby inches, the guy right behind him had neither time nor space to react, so both the marshal and the driver were killed. Race organisers should have hired extra marshals to be on the other side of that straight so nobody had to cross the track.
Why was the first pilot trying to get back to his car?

How was Tom Pryce the idiot here? He was driving behind Joachim, and Joachim suddenly swerved to avoid a marshal. Pryce didn't have time nor space to avoid the collision.
