My guess is the older generation of Masons were way way too educated and well learned, they seemed rather too wise and their straight forward thinking stays admirable

I love the positivity and poetry. The mention of shadow and light. This all seems to ignore the truth of life. It sounds nice to look inward but it only takes a slight look outward to see the lack of divinity. The world we live in is not holy.
