The first book I'm going to finish in 2024 will be Blackwood Farm by Anne Rice and the first book I'm going to start is What the River Knows by Isabel Ibanez.
Heartstopper Vol 4 was my first book of 2024 and HoEaB was my only carryover from 2023 🎉
My reading year for 2023 wasn't the best, so I'm gonna start 2024 with a book I know I'll love, Witch Hat Atelier Vol 10.
I think you’ll have a better time with Red Country than you’re expecting! I’m enjoying it so far, particularly because of the characters
Red country was my favourite of the standalones
Bookshops and Bonedust is my first 2024 read 😊
Starting the new year finishing my current read, the skeleton room by Kate Ellis and then diving into some new books
The first book I will finish is She Who Became the Sun which I am pleased about as it has sat on my shelf for years.
Red Country will be my 1st in 2024. Im already over half-way through and i think it might be my favorite so far because of a certain spoilery character. Was not expecting that
My first books are Tress of the Emerald Sea and There There
I'm starting 2024 with Babel by R. F. Kuang. As an English major, specializing into translation studies, I think it will be a quite fitting start for the new year.
Heartstopper Volume 5 was my first book this year because the mission is to finish series in 2024!
I’m starting the year with FaeBound!!! I’ve been so excited to try one of SAARA EL books !!
Good luck with your reading for the start of the year!!!
Happy New Year Becca🎉🎊
First book I want to read is Valdemar by Mercedes Lackey, but I’m also rolling over Great Uncle Harry by Michael Palin.
Great tbr x
I have decided to do a bookopoly/48hr timer challenge to kick off the new year and my first two rolls were chance, which gave me The Hunger Games and
Nice TBR! I’m starting with a quick read for January just because winter is usually my reading slump season for some reason.
First book I’m planning to finish is House of Sky and Breath since I’m about halfway through right now!🎉
Finishing What the River Knows by Isabel Ibanez. Had about 100 pages left in December.
Happy New Year’s Eve
I’ve decided to let my tbr jar pick my first book of 2024! And it’s going to be the hurricane wars, cannot wait to start ❤
First book I’ll be finishing is the Death of Kings by Bernard Cornwell (rollover from 2023) and I’ll be starting Sword of Destiny by Andrzej Sapkowski
My first book of the year will be Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer. One of my goals is to not buy/ check out any new books until i can get my current shelves under control, and thats the book that came up first when i did a random selection
I started a reread of Redwall on New Years Eve
Yess so excited for House of Flame and Shadow. Im also rereading House of Sky and Breath this month
I am starting 2024 with The Bear and the Nightingale! It's a reread so I already know I love it and then I plan to finally finish the series. I hope you love Nettle and Bone!
starting with a hyper intense re-read of Harrow the Ninth!
I had so much fun doing Gideon for my first book of 2023-- spent like a week just obsessively clipping quotes from it and building out my own personal wiki. Planning to do the same with the whole series since it was so much fun!!
The Bone Spindle was a really quick read for me. And a lot of fun - I should really get to the second one
I’m also reading House of Sky and Breath in anticipation for the next book. My book club that I run on my channel is reading it for February and I’ll be doing a live show for it at the end of the month. So excited for it!
My first book of 2024 will be Last Call At the Local, it comes out Jan 2 😊
I’m starting my year with The Poppy War by RF Kuang :) it was a gift from Christmas and I’m excited to start a fresh year with a book I’m so excited for!
I will be starting Sword of Kaigan by M. L. Wang tomorrow, will be carrying over Wuthering Heights and Daughter of Redwinter from December
I think my first book of the year will be fourth book in the Vampire Academy series! I used to be so good at finishing series! I need to get back to it!
The first book I’m going to read is blessed monsters by Emily a. Duncan for book club
Happy reading in 2024! My first book will be Wanderers by Chuck Wendig. I am doing a sci-fi theme for my tbr!
I finished ACOTAR series at 3am, so It's technically my first read of the year. But I have on my TBR to read a subscription book each month that could have a special edition sequel, so I can decide if I would want it before it comes on sale. So I started with Sing Me to Sleep by Gabi Burton, only the last 40 pages to go, it ended up being a quick read.
I finally finished my undergrad last month so I'm very excited that this year I'll have time to read for fun again. For my first read of 2024 I picked up The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes.
Nettle & Bone I found to be a very fun, quick read so I hope you find it to be the same!
I’ve started reading memoirs as my first book of the year, so I’m gonna start with Brittany’s in 2024
if you like nettle and bone - t kingfisher has a fantasy romance (ish) series! :)
Happy new year! I managed to start Red Country before 2023 ended but not sure how I'm feeling about it yet.
The first book I'll be reading is Children of Ruin, the sequel to Children of Time! Love your January TBR and I'm very curious about Redsight.
I always start with a shorter book at the start of the year, 300ish pages or less, just so I can finish it faster and it keeps me motivated to read more. I like to get ahead of my reading goal where I can so that if something does come up or I'm too busy to read then I have a bit of leeway 🥰 gonna start with Bones by Yolanda Olsen this year!
My first book of the year is Her Majesty’s Royal Coven, because my audio hold just came in from the library 🤣
Happy New Year!!🎉 this will be catching up on fantasy year for me, series I've started, and a couple of new ones. Most excited for is Blake Crouch Wayward pines trilogy, The ruin of kings, and the helms of midnight. 🤞
I'm going to try the first Wheel of Time book.
My first book for the year is going to be The Serpent & The Wings Of Night. I’ve only got 166 pages to go and I’m hoping since I’m enjoying it that 2024 will be a better reading year than 2023. 😀
Ive heard your channel mentioned by other booktubers for years and i really wish id checked you out sooner
Youre just delightful and so easy to watch
Yesterday I started 'Credence' by Penelope Douglas so this will probably be the first finished book in 2024
My first read of the year was supposed to be The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern but I picked up The Witch and the Tsar instead.
I'm starting 2024 with Long Bright River by Liz Moore because it's 482 pages and the book club meeting for that book is the earliest one for January LOL
I am in the last third of Empire of Storms so I will continue this in 2024 and hope to finish KoA before Crescent City 3 releases hahah, in case it might be useful
Also, Happy New Year everyone!!
My first book was chlorine ❤
My first book is going to be a manga!! My happy marriage volume 1
I have exam season during january plus work with it so I was thinking about something quick with fantasy elements for my first book of 2024 and I’m going to go with one of my danmei books since they’re guaranteed 5 ⭐️ so it’s perfect start of the year. Probably Thousand Autumns vol. 2
I am going to start 2024 with re-reading Hall of Smoke by H.M. Long. Book four comes out at the end of January and I want to re-read the series so it is all fresh.
I don’t know exactly what my first book of 2024 is going to be, but I think it’s going to be Atalanta by Jennifer Saint
Redsight is written by an author from my town! I hope you like it. I still need to read it.
I’ll be starting off with Silver Nitrate by Silvia Moreno-Garcia! So far my TBR for January is 6.
If you end up liking T. Kingfisher's writing style, she has a lot of fantasy romances too! Although they're the each book is a different couple kind, which I know you're not as into. But they're some of my absolute favorite fantasy romances! My first book will probably be The Archive Undying since it has to go back to the library lol
The first book I will finish in 2024 will be Sky and Breath, ready for Flame and Shadow, but I started reading it in December. I started reading Throne of Glass series followed by Acotar then CC books back in August last year so my friend 'would have someone to scream at' for the release at the end of the month, so if anyone has any recommendations to break me out of this fantasy long haul, I will willingly accept! I'm thinking maybe a space opera or thriller at the moment. Happy New Year and many happy readings to all!
My first book of 2024 was the same as my last of 2023. I’ve finished Prophet Song today. Beautiful and heartbreaking
I’m going to be finishing An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson. I’m really enjoying it. I’m about 70 pages in.
My first book of 2024 is going to be Deity by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I'm in the middle of a reread of the Covenant Series, and finished Pure this morning before work. It's only a reread to get me out of a reading slump, so I have no idea what I'll be reading after I finish the series.
Dark Age by Pierce Brown so I can read Light Bringer!
My first book of the year will be Icebreaker by Hannah Grace and House Of Earth And Blood by of course Sarah J Maas
I want my first book of the year to be Legends and Lattes!
Not sure what my first read will be, I haven’t decided. Likely a thriller called what lies in the woods. Then I’ll be starting my tandem read of EOS and TOD. I jumped on the TOG bandwagon lol
My boyfriend picked my first book of the year lol he picked That's Not My Name by Megan Lally and it's pretty good so far!
I'm starting 2024 with Shadow and Bone...figured it was finally time to knock it off my list since I've had it on my TBR for years at this point. Happy you're doing a recap of the SJM book again so I don't have to reread it because that would take ages!
Shadow and Bone is a great start to the new year. Enjoy 😊
Im starting January reading say you swear by meagan brandy and things we hide from the light by Lucy score
Will you be bringing back the 48 hour Bookopolathon in 2024?
I’m going into the new year currently reading Fine Print by Lauren Asher and Manacled by SenLinYu.
Congrats on actually making a reasonable tbr, I don't think I've ever managed that 😂
Ok am just rolling over books for my first books of the year. I don't give any thought into it.
My first book is probably going to be Lord of Chaos by Robert Jordan
My First Book is Poison Princess by Kresley Cole :)
My first book of the year was yellowface.
I have no idea what I'm going to read in January, haha!
🥰🥰🥰
First read will be Bone Smith Nicki Pau Preto, but I end up reading multiple at a time so I have no idea past that 🫠💀
I'm 65% through Red Rising and trying to finish before midnight, but with hanging out with family tonight, it will likely end up my first read of 2024.
