    If nothing else- Gary Cherone and Extreme sang whatever and wherever Brian and Roger needed them. Noone else was trusted to do Love of my Life- and this was one night I don't think Brian could have gotten thru it. Nuno Bettencourt playing Brian May's licks exactly how Brian plays them- no cover s*** there! They brought an energy only Freddie himself could have done- Thank you guys.

    Honestly, not a big Gary Cherone fan, but his grit and range suits Queen well in my opinion. Even his exaggerated movements kinda remind me of Freddie’s stage presence a bit to me. I don’t think Gary comes close to Freddie in terms of greatness, but as a good singer to pay tribute to Freddie and sing with Queen could be a better tribute than Adam Lambert or a copycat like Marc Martel. No disrespect to them either or their evident talent.

    • @tatianaroveda
      @tatianaroveda Před 3 lety +3

      Marc Martel would rather work with Queen and be honest about his talent- and he is great..He was great on the movie. Not a Lambert fan- But Gary rocks hard- and Tommi and Brian? Killer, All we need is Nuno..and thats a hot trio!

    I don’t think there could have been a better choice of singer for this song. Iommi’s rhythm playing adds a grittiness that suits Cheronne’s voice. The whole arrangement was well done.
    Would have made an excellent closer in my opinion. Closing the show with that song would have been epic.

    After watching this, it makes a lot more sense why Van Halen tapped Gary Cherone him to replace Sammy Hagar. He brings the stage flair of David Lee Roth but with the vocal power of Sammy Hagar. But then once he was in Van Halen, he cut his hair and the band decided to drastically change their sound and it didn’t work... I’m all for trying something new; in fact I truly enjoy Van Halen 3. But from this performance, it’s obvious there was the potential to recapture the Van Halen sound and image, and they sorely missed the mark. Such a shame.

    Freddie was a one-off - nobody could ever deny that.
    This footage shows Gary Cherone would’ve been the perfect person to fill the void left by Freddie. He has the vocal range & stage presence.
    The Queen era featuring Paul Rodgers & Adam Lambert just isn’t worthy of the name - it’s a bit embarrassing in my opinion.
