You're the best man.
Triple M where's one year of love? Slash do the guitar for james
thanks
Anthony Jillali no, I think he's the groom..
metfan4l thanks friend
John Deacon introducing Metallica. My man.
Most I’ve ever heard him speak 😂😂
My Nigga
Hell Yeah! Maaaaaaaaaan 🔥👍👍👍
LEGEND
If only he ever sang lead vocals
James with no guitar looks like that drunk dude who crashes the band in the club
Haha
He does look a little lost without his guitar, especially during the solos.
i do remember thinking it odd looking lol
Back at the time this happened my brother and I would refer to that as James and his Boner mic. Hey, teenagers.....
Its cool the he focuses more on vocals and doesnt have to fiddle with the guitar at the same time so vocals are almost spot on. Lol
Savage Star - LOL!!!😆
These were the Metallica days!
Drums: Spandex Jesuz
Vocals/Rhythm guitar: Lion
Lead guitar: Nacho Libre
Bass guitar: Satan
I laughed so damn hard HAHAHA
the same !!!
and all that energy
brilliant dude!!
😂
If only Freddie Mercury & Cliff Burton were still here.
Killer Queen White Queen & Black queen don’t forget Dime and Vinnie.
This concert would not have happen if Freddie was still there.
Unfortunately
@MJ The G.O.A.T yeah that's common sense right?
@@robinyumnam2646 Common sense you dumb fuck
Most people dont give enough credit about this show metallica played at. Metallica was one of the biggest donators for the aids foundation. They are very generous to helping people out
I think Metallica perfectly understood how Queen felt without Freddie, remembering Cliff...
Not exactly the same thing...
@@lucaboscolopalo7613 of course it’s different, but they were both really close to the other members I think
That is an interesting point, I wouldn't have thought about that actually. I think you're right. Both groups lost a dear friend and band mate. Obviously the circumstances are much different but losing someone so close to you is still losing someone so close to you no matter the situation in which it happens.
@@lucaboscolopalo7613 In fact, Metallica suffered the most. Queen members could say goodbye to Freddie and spent their time with him before his death. Meanwhile, Metallica lost Cliff very fast and they couldn't say goodbye. They have an accident also.
@@ScArrD exactly!
Back when the “M”’in MTV stood for Music!!!
Yep, instead of moaning.
Now is "M" for Moronic Tv
And when the the M in Metallica stood for metal
@@someoneelse101 then the fuck does it stand for now?

I bet Freddie was headbanging in heaven when he heard this.
@Carter Hall you dont decide that

That guy with the long hair is so talented
such little appreciation for such an amazing comment
Those guys with long hair are as follows: James Hetfield - vocals, rhythm guitar. Kirk Hammett - guitar. Jason Newsted - bass. Lars Ulrich - drums. Just FYI. 🤘
The long haired guys with their shirts on are so talented.

More like doing his funky step dance stuff.
Keeping tradition on those. Each reply is one year from the last.

One of the very few singers who does not have to fake their voice to sound heavy
rock star That's funny because he did that on rtl and mop.
+Vlad how
Duper Super overdub
Green Bastard Yeah, but when you overdub vocals they sound more powerful. If you want to hear James' real voice when they recorded MOP search "master of puppets demo 1985".
u mean jason newsted
Spirit of end 80’s and earlier 90’s was amazing!!!
Arie Suyatman gk juga
yeah people were really optimistic
Agreed!
Arie Suyatman - Yeah, man, you said it. The good 'ol days. What a wonderful time it was to be young then. 👍
Sure was.. Everything was so much better then. Awesome time to be a teen.. Metallica still rock now tho 🤘 so not all bad 😉
Wow. Jason Newsted really added to the Live sound and visual of Metallica
Agree. James and Lars didn’t understand what they had in Jason.
What he said about Sad But True in A Year And A Half In The Life Of Metallica was also true. It did sound very tinny live
yeah agree..his metal visual 👍👍
@@someoneelse101 still one of my favorite moments on the dvd. Watching his face when he describes how heavy it usually is cracks me up every time.
I love Jason Newsted. He really gave it all..❤️🤟🏿
16:57 A rare, respectful and serious James of the 90's. This concert probably meant a lot to him.
0:08 Kirk goes directly to the wah pedal, love him! :)
That's because it's in the song. Sad but true and nothing he doesn't use wah remember that
Sandman has has a wah at the start of the original recording
Immediately.....So funny! 😂❤
Wise choice as opening band . .surprised a lot of people . .
wtf
Thats how queen works
Chris Ellis Lucky for them. Extreme stole the show
@@bps1123 lol I don't know if you're for real, but really???
Andres Caceres Yup, Love Metallica but imo Extreme has better musicianship, their harmonies are Beatlesque and have as much energy live. If you disagree you are not wrong. Just a different opinion than mine. To each his own. Cheers
Brian May trying to learn the heavier version of Stone Cold Crazy on the fly is utter class
Max Riffage heavier version? Queens original 74 was just as heavy
Gillian Henderson that’s a joke right
@@korolario it was labelled "Thrash metal" before thrash was official. I say it was heavy for the time, until Metallica covered it.

UNDERRATED COMMENT
Jason was so significant to this band, a very talented dude, so energetic 👊
indeed, he did alot for metallica. sure miss those days
Wow Metallica and queen a combination I would’ve never thought of
QUEENTALLICA thats it!
Metalliqueen
Queen+Metallica
Metallic Queen
Metallica, Queen, and fucking BLACK SABBATH
I liked Jason. Personally was the best bass player Metallica ever had. He gave everything for this band. During live shows he was unstopable! I miss you man!
He wasn't the best imo, that title belongs to Cliff and only Cliff, but Jason's stage presence was on another level, 110% everytime
don't forget Jason's vocals brought a lot to the band totally under rated
I love watching the faces that Lars makes during live performance 🤣
Me too, love it! 💖
Newsted was such a beast ❤️
When Hetfield had the best vocal in the world! When lars had a real drum kit

Metallica must have been VERY HONORED for John Deacon to shout “Metallica”. That by itself is a monumental achievement.
Who's John Deacon?
I remember recording this concert on VHS. Happy days lol

@Stefano Pavone wow I think I have it recorded twice😂
Kostas L ME TOO! I have it on DVD now! I recorded Live Aid on VHS as well 🙌🏻
19:26 It's so awesome to see James with that attitude! Banging so hard, singing with soul and dedication, running and enjoying himself all over the stage...
lol, it´s so weird to see James singing without his guitar pose! 19:10

Holy shit i laughed my ass off😂
Newsted makes an awesome entrance - 0:32 - I can safely skip back and keep watching, unlike my worn out VHS tape from many years ago. Thanks!
Remindes me of some Cliff's moves. Yeah, Cliff may be the icon, but Jason is the beast!
I remember watching this live....I was hooked! I never looked back, such an amazing set of musicians. The crowd went bonkers for them! Considering they were relatively unknown to the 'masses' Queen had the foresight to let them kick off the show. I will never forget it!
They may not have been well known but they did have alot of fans and such. It was less than a year earlier that Mettallic did the MoR in Moscow.
You're quite correct. I was there ,16 and totally blown away by Metallica a band I was aware of but had never listened to their music before. I only listened to Queen , AC⚡DC and Zep at that point in my life.
Metallica were incredible on the day. It was a brilliant idea to have them open the concert as it gave the crowd a jolt and introduced them to a new audience. All the acts were excellent on the day but these guys stood out for me.
1992 / 2019
the Lion roars again! Long Live JAMES HETFIELD!
The tears haven’t yet dried
Our hearts are still in tatters
We miss you dear Freddie
And nothing else matters.
Freddie would have love this performance of Metallica ! Sure he would be happy to be with them on stage ! Thanks a lot for Metallica !
This performance got me into Metallica, had to watch it on CZcams cause i wasn't alive back then. Queen and Metallica are the main bands that made me appreciate (good) music, being the first two bands that i properly religiously listened to!
woah. how old are you? when were you born? 😅
@Lord Of Onions what a adorable choice you did, R.I.P chuck schuldiner.

@@wabisabi6802 ‘99 bro.
I can relate to this. I went from Queen to guns n roses then to metallica (and then on from there) so I eased my transition in heaviness terms 😅
Metallica in absolute top form. 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽
by far not their best performance.. they were so nervous opening the whole tribute show
BronzDano not really they were at their best performance wise 85-86 or 89
2:33 lars literally destroyed the drum pedal
True LOL
Damn :) May and Iommi on the same stage is not bad!
Mr_c they May be on the same stage..... but mays mind probably got a day off. What the hell ist he doing there?
I thought that was Lommi.
not bad? it's GREAT
I read a comment saying how Brian May was trying to learn the heavier version of the song bc of iommi. What a fucking killer show in my opinion
🤘🏿😝🤘🏿
The title said Queen with James Hetfiel. They totally forget that Tony Iommi was also playing with them.
They were on top of the fucking world then.
I was there....that day was not a day....was a century......was epic!
This legends will live forever

This was the time when whatever Metallica touched turned to gOld.

Best enter sandman version ive ever heard.
james enjoying as a kid listening one of his fav bands =)
2:30 in the morning watching sad but true from 92’ and I’ve got work to do at 8 can’t wait
One of the best performances of this song live
Which one? Enter Sandman, Sad But True or Nothing Else Matters?
@@rgwashere8723 or stone cold crazy ?
@@mauriciomijares7286 yeah that too
Tony lommi The Godfather of the Heavy Metal riff standing right next to Brian May a man who plays rock n roll like a god
I was there on the barrier, slept in the steps of Wembley over night to make sure i was in the front when Metallica came on... even caught a Roger T custom drum stick at the end of the gig.
One of the photographers captured an image of Jason as he was flinging his head forward. Perfect timing, as his hair was straight up above his head, like Kid from Kid N Play. The shot was priceless, and wound up in the People Magazine article about this show. I sure wish I could find that shot somewhere!!
James on stone cold crazy was amazing
When I first came to the states and was living in ft lauderdale in 92....the bar we went to constantly played Metallica “Black album “ every night....friggin miss those days man......much love to DC DIGGERS on Oakland &A1A....for anyone that partied there with Dave &Donna.......
Its weird seeing james without guitar
I'm so glad they had some good American rock bands at the Freddie Tribute Concert. And they were bands that were big acts at the time, too. So the crowd got to see a great variety of bands and definitely got their money's worth, too.
Lars was such a better drummer back then. look how hard he hits the drums, and his timing is perfect. Today he plays like he's in some Jazz quartet that plays in a lounge to 10 people
seriously
Jazz??
Lars hearing is fecked up because of the drums he had, it was the equivalent of a 747 jet engine in his ears at each concert
It's as if you actually never seen Lars drum. But than again you just want likes.
lars is actually really HUGE jazz music fan. true fact.
Jason is such an amazing sight to see at a live concert!! he is so full of energy!!! let alone to say that he is a great back up vocal!!
What a concert! Can't believe it's been 30 years since i watched this sitting right in front of the TV as a 10 year old.
Well, I guess we're getting old.damnit.
I love how video starts with deacy saying METALLICA
This was the performance that opened my eyes. Riding the lightning since then feeling like the master of puppets killing 'em all. This day, this performance literally changed my life forever. I didn't just discover Metallica that day. They lead the way into a world of music that became a way of life and still is till this day.
NO ME CANSO DE VER A ESTOS JOVENCITOS QUE EN SU EPOCA MAS DORADA ALCANZARON LA FAMA Y EL RECONOCIMIENTO MUNDIAL!!!!!
The best vocal moment from James.
Metallica for life... I can watch them all the day.. Fuck I love them so much😭
0:00 thats john deacon
Yes it is
James sings killer at this show!!!
This is how I can pinpoint the date that my life changed!
They blew my eyes / ears wide open. 😀
Bring back Jason!
You know the rest of the bill is packed with rock royalty and legends when Metallica are the opening band onstage \m/
Metallica were sneered at by many for being included but as the years have passed I think people now see what a perfect addiction they were to this bill. A heavy as fuck rendition of sad but true with such an incredible sound.
Yes, I remember that. Thinking what James could say during live performances during the macho/misogynistic 80´s. But this concert was all about inclusion and love (thankfully).
Sneered at? Why?
its weird to see james singing without playing the guitar
James honestly looks a little lost without his guitar but he still looks really cool as just a frontman
I use to be Queen fan, and i saw this tribute and I said "Who the fuck are those guys?" and become Metallica fan..
Were you living under stone
Why not be both?
@@lukeburfield3574 because Metallica's sound its what I looking for, i mean I like stone cold crazy by Queen, that guitar sound, and Metallica have it
Lars was a drumming animal back then i dont know what happened to him maybe he aged
Age has nothing to do with it. There are drummers older than him that are just as amazing today and they were back in the 80s
Apparently he stopped practicing from like 1990-2010 idk he sounded like a beast until about 94 in my opinion
Yeah. He lost that sense of rhythm he had in this show. Even if he stopped practicing he should still be able to play in time not like these days when he is always getting lost in the beat that he always has to do fills to compensate. pat thorpey suffered from alzheimers and still could play in the right timing until his body became weak and the muscles could not keep up with what the brain is saying. I'm thinking maybe Lars had some mild stroke and damaged a part of his brain that gives that good sense of rhythm.
20:31 James playing air guitar lol
Yeah, i watched this live and i remember it took place in April of 1992!!!! Damn i'm getting old!!
Same here... I was 15 back then.
Same. I watched it on TV and I was 8
