  • Hey guys in this video we are doing a give away of.... well you are going to have to watch to find out! Don't worry it's definitely worth it! We answer the following questions from Kathy, Debbie, and Redesreds.
Need Custom Foam Inserts - Order Here: ucprivatecourses.com/
    kathy roach,
HELP?? Is the "26" foam the same as a 2.6 lb/ft3 weight?. Is the 35 "compression" the ILD? If not, what is the weight and the ILD?? THANKS! P.S. Awesome video.
    kathy roach,
Question: How do I measure if all I have is the empty covers, or cushions that are so compressed that the measurement would not be accurate? Just measure between the welts +1" ? Thanks
    Debbie Moran,
How thick should the batting be for outdoor cushions?
    Redesreds,
Great video! Thank you for sharing. Quick question please, is there a reason why you guys decided against the vacuum trick during the insertion process @17:30 ? Is doing it manually like this better or is it just a matter of preference? Thank you in advance!

Are the same compressions between closed and open cell foams comparable in feeling

    • @ucsolutionsgivingmore
      @ucsolutionsgivingmore  Před 4 lety

Hello Pamela, I have never compared the two one on one. However when the foam is produced there is a goal say 26 lbs of compression both open and close work toward that compression. So they maybe very close if not right on. I hope this has helped you and I thank you for watching. Please share the video it helps. Cheers, Paul

I AM looking to get a new cushion for my sofa. It measures approx. 66x26x6. I like a firm cushion as my husband weighs 250. I was looking at an ILD of 50 and a 5.0 density. Does that make sense? (I sleep on a Plank Mattress that I love...I'm told that there is no firmer mattress...so I do like firm) What would you recommend?

I am making a banquette for my dining area. I am currently at the stage of covering the skeleton (I don't know the words used in upholstery.) Anyway, I definitely could use your expertise in selecting/buying foam for the seat and back cushions. I can send a photo of the inspiration piece if you like. It is mid-century modern in style and the cushions are not thick.
I was glad to hear your direction to make the covers first and then purchase the foam. Helps me know what next step...as I certainly have no idea what I am doing. Haha!

Hello Pam, I am very sorry for not getting back to your comment and your need for help. You having a comment and asking for advise is honestly very important to us. With all the emails and comments we receive, some unfortunately get by us and go unanswered, that is what happened to your comment. Scrolling through looking for another comment from someone else, I stumbled on yours. In any case I am sure you have completed your project and I am sure it looks great. Again my apologizes for the late reply. All the best, Paul

Wow... You two have grown into quite the dynamic duo. I've been subscribed for awhile but haven't watched lately :-| Anyway... My entry is B. 28lbs. I've been told that in a multiple choice situation when you have no idea, guess B. I hope that was good advice.

Can you please do an episode on how to keep sofa cushions from slipping out? I bought a brand new sofa and I absolutely love it but I have noticed that the cushions want to slide forward very easily. The sofa is made out of a microfiber type material that looks like suede but it's easy to clean and looks really nice and soft and cozy. Also can you recommend any type of product to put on the cushions to protect it from spills and such that won't hurt the fabric?

I have a large sectional with cushion covers that measure 31x28x6. I understand adding the additional inch but being that the cushion is thicker than most, what would you recommend for density? Also the cushion has a down cover that goes on the outside of the cushion but inside the outer fabric, do I adjust my measurements at all to account for this? - My guess is B - 28 lbs.

Great question, we actually go over this answer in our other video here: czcams.com/video/dCgEAbMPoGA/video.html
This video goes over compression selection as well as what to order for cushions with the foam and feather core. Important Note: it is different then how you would normally measure!!!
Also unfortunately the contest has already ended for last weeks video, however, since you participated we’ll offer you a 10% discount on your next order.
