- Hey guys! In this video we’re joined with the European Team Champion and World Number 40 Joao Geraldo who loves to test equipment!
So the World Number 1 and 2022 World Champion Fan Zhendong has his own signature ALC blade out now with Butterfly.
We tested the blade to see how it stacks up to other blades we have tested including the Viscaria which this blade is based on.
I used Tenergy 05 on my forehand and Dignics 05 on my backhand, Joao used the Dignics 05 on both his forehand and and backhand. Enjoy!

I had a Lin Gaoyuan ALC which is also considered a Viscaria clone. It was perfect for BH, but I prefer limba outer ply with inner carbon on FH. It felt too stiff for FH

Love that he is so into equipment. Get him to do more reviews with you if possible! Should also note that Butterfly raised the price of the Viscaria from 130€ to 170€.
the price of viscaria in Japan is higher than (EU and USA) and the handle of Viscaria is probably the best one and the main reason of bestselling
@@Zidane13893 yeah, I saw like half a year ago that the Matsudaira ALC is cheaper than the Viscaria which is strange because here all the named ALCs were more expensive before the price increase.
ye, but quality getting lower and lower every year. Recently bought 85 gramm viscaria TBE---it was only named viscaria. so awful blade butterfly produce for europe, that i was shoked🤮

they've been doing that for years mate, they did that with timo boll and they did that with kenta and zhang jike. Except Zhang Jike had his own signicture blade line and STILL didn't change from viscaria just sold the ZJK alc lmao. They are all every so slightly different in wieght distribution, some might jahve a mm thicker handle the boll alc is reportedly stiffer but the differences are so minimal it's arguably just placebo and factory inconsistency.

@@Teluric2 He has always used Viscaria. Even when he was sponsored by Stiga he just got a Viscaria with custom handle to make it look like Stiga Infinity

Would love to see The ZLC version reviewed as well, probably could be worth trying out different variations of same blade (Fan’s,Ball’s etc.. for vest comparison)

Awesome thx Dan. I struggled between FZD alc and harimoto alc for my 8 years old girl. I think I will get Harimoto alc for her as it’s more close to wood feeling.👍

Could you maybe review Stiga Intensity NCT (long time blade of Xu Xin) or Ma Lin Extra Offensive. These are basically the same blades and 5 ply wood blades, so I guess also suitable for non professional players. Would be really interesting to see a review of these.
I have tried the FZD ALC with dignics 09c and tenergy 05 fx and it feels great. I would like you to review the Joola Trinity and maybe compare the two. I'm interested to find out what x3 carbon that Joola uses in the trinity is like

This blade is a monster in its own right and you need to pair this blade with your own personal preference in rubber it is a difficult blade to handle all in all
the fan zhendong super alc is the same as viscaria super alc?
João Geraldo had good point he needs Koto on forehand and limba on the backhand so why not to make blade with one side harder wood and other side softer wood ? Will be perfect!
The Xiom Ice Cream AZX has a koto outer ply, a limba inner ply, and a kiri core. However, sandwiched between the koto and limba plies, the AZX has an outer carbon ply of ZLC on one side and an outer ply of ALC on the other side. This allows its user to have different playing characteristics on each side. The ALC allows for a softer, stiffer, and springier feel while the ZLC allows for a harder and more elastic feel. These outer carbon plies are felt immediately on most strokes. A truly special blade that allows you to tailor it to your style of play.
Yes i knew about the xiom doing that I think you got other companies that doing it different carbon each side but top layer of wood it’s hard to find , I’m just saying why butterfly not doing it ?
Most the people prefer butterfly blades they hold the value and they very good balance and quality (the made in Japan ones) 🇯🇵

Setup 1: FH tenergy 05 hard, BH dignics 05
Setup 2: FH dignics 09c, BH tenergy 05
FH Dignics 09c definitely. It is a brilliant rubber if you have strong topspin on your FH. It can be as fast or slow as you wish.

Review the Yinhe v 14 pro(30th anniversary )is a 55 euro blade that is like viscaria/time boll and I rlly want to know ur opinion on that and if its worthy to buy
It is worth to buy but it's faster than viscaria/FZD blade. It's more like Timo Bol ALC, just a bit stiffer/faster. If you like fast and hard blades then it is very good. If you're not used to the speed of the blade and want more control look for innerforce blade instead.

I broke the blade and i dont want to spend 250 euro on that blade is too expensive and i want something Close to it But at the price of 55 euro and i saw that blade and i want to make the same rubbers Combo But with yinhe
Some people told me that yinhe pro 01 would be a better option if I want something like viscaria
@@SayoNo08 Yinhe pro 05 is close to HL5. Pro 01 is a little bit faster and stiffer than viscaria

Fyi, Fan did not use viscaria , he used golden viscaria which is more rare and has better power than the market viscaria
@@CMCMTTTV well, i lived in asian region and pretty much all news about fzd 's blade is the golden viscaria, where he changed the handle to a stiga one since he was signed to stiga
