- Hey what’s going on guys! We met up with the Puerto Rican superstar Adriana Diaz, who has a highest world ranking of 9 and is known for her insane, creative shots. In this video we test the bat Adriana uses and get an insight into her game.

Adriana is in my 5 top favourite table tennis players. Love her playstyle and the punch backhand, that's probably why I also like Truls and Mima Ito. Adriana has so much muscle memory that she plays shots in unbelivable positions, she is incredible at improvising. Don't get me wrong, the rest of her shots and game are very solid. Every time I watch her play, I'm rooting for her. Vamos, Adriana!
Please please please do the fan zhendong alc with fan himself ...I want to see how beastly he is

@@infinitt4619 Ive already watched that one, dan was basically commentating the whole video in the background and in the game they were silent, sometimes symbol language like where he told him that flicks were good by doing a flick motion
Now that style of video is over and now dan reviews the equipment LIVE during the video, that video was just a short session with fan zhendong,
This has been hands down the most entertaining video with a professional yet. I've laughed many times in this video.
Out of all the reviews you've done with pro players I liked this one the best. Adriana seems like such a nice and down to earth person with a great personality. Genuinely fun person to be around. Keep up the great work guys! :)

Must be great being Adriana Diaz father, having your daughter break to the top 10 and being her couch its freaking amazing, he is indeed a very competent coach for her, he is arguably better than some of the asians coach. Its also amazing that Adriana Diaz is able to compete against so many players, it shows her amazing talent, dedication and hard work through out the years, she is indeed amazing, and her family too, I love when latin americans are able to compete at such a high level in table tennis, since im here in Panama, ive ofcourse seen so many amazing players, but its not really that mainstream, most people here just think its a party sport.
Adriana is ridiculously creative and seems like a genuinely great person too! She would be a nightmare to play though! 😂 There is nothing worse than spinning up a ball as hard as you can and someone just keeps punching it past you 😫😭😫😭

I watched Diaz's game with Manika Batra in World Championships in Durban. I liked Diaz's play and wished her to win and she did! Hope she's getting better and better.

What i find interesting is that i am sitting here having fun testing out equippment and even though i not only do it to get the best suited one but also out of fun and curiousity she just picks one that works well and done :D
And she is very right on the "you gotta be different" part. You see that with a lot of other players as well and i think that is the main part about why european players have a chance at all. A Truls, Roman Ruiz, Gauzy,... Timo is kinda different because his specialty is bringing the ball on the table with never lacking quality.
The strong backhand grip i would mention as a bit of a downside

@@TableTennisDaily you should do a review for Dignics 64. For me, it's one of my favorite backhand rubber
Since the pimples structure is same like the one of Tenergy 64, it should work great for backhand too, especially for very safe blocking (passive and active) and punching, but also flat hitting and flat topspins. The sponge is a little harder in Dignics 64, also boosting this rubber will work wonders for sure.
For this playstyle, also other brands has good rubbers with similar pimples structure and mid-hard to soft topsheets, for example Andro Rasanter V47 and older versions like the Donic Coppa X1 Gold/Turbo Platin.
@@matthiasglaschke5946 Rozena is also fantastic for that playstyle. Lifespan is probably 1/3 of Dignics 64 though.
Perfect player, no doubt and nice marketing for blade. 💪But, she is using Butterfly Zhang Jike ALC if I am right - just watched her match against Cheng I Ching on Singapore Smash 2023 ...

When you doing forehand loop to loop countertopspin, one can see the slightly higher arc in Adriana's topspins. Maybe it's her technic, but also could be the fact, that her rubbers (here the Dignics 05) are bended more from (factory)-tuning. 😁

I'm probably gonna get a Super ALC when my Viscaria breaks eventually. Now that Butterfly raised the Viscaria price the Super ALC isn't much more expensive. Also, Dan, have more faith in your backhand. It's really strong in practice, you are just not using it when you play.

Got the same set up a few months back. It's ridiculous. My coach (2500 rating) tried a few FH loops with the D64 and missed 3 in a row lol.

DO you mean FZD Super Alc = Viscaria Super ALC , only the outlook is different?
It should not be because the core of the FZD seems to be thicker.

Today vs Kasumi Ishikawa in XinXiang she had a differrent blade blue Horizontal bar/line across the bottom of the blade, I was surprised to see her with something new just a month after this video. Does she have her own Signature Version now?

It's the same blade but customized with ZJK ALC handle, which is thicker. After so many years of using ZJK Super ZLC, I guess she prefers the ZJK handle shape.

I wonder if she's experimented with using short pips on the backhand.
Level of pro players is ridiculous. Adriana looks way far from her serious play and Dan couldn't even handle it. And the stamina of them is incredible, Dan looks exhausted and she doesn't even flinched
I have both blades. The viscaria has much harder outer koto wood and significantly less dwell than the Super Viscaria. The scoring for control is definitely wrong and should be the other way round. I'd say Viscaria control should be a 7, and Super ALC an 8.

What happened to Dan’s Backhand? There was a video of pro tips that saved Dan’s BH but it looks like it’s gone back to the old BH?
He's probably just less confident against Adriana's variation and he's using the dignics 64 which is a more speed oriented rubber in this video which means the equipment is significantly different to what he normally uses so might be less comfortable than with his usual set up. Still his backhand seems fine
@@gab5012 when he plays with Tom you will see the difference in his BH as he has more confidence.
@@Ladda-re6kp Yeah so it's to do with the fact that he's playing with Adriana and not Tom her variation in speed is crazy, one soft block and then next an incredibly fast punch then a strong loop it's not easy to handle all that at once
