That pochade box looks like a dream come true. It's also nice to see quality stuff made in the good ol' U.S. of A. again, eh? Good review, thanks. I've been looking at this or the Guerrilla painter medium French Resistance for watercolor. After again looking in person at the Guerrilla painter recently I pretty much decided to go with one of these. Now your review has sold me. And it's great to see this reviewed by a watercolorist too. Thinking about the 8 x 11. I like to tape my paper on masonite panels up to 12 x 12 and the 6 x 8 seems like it may be too small.

    • @joannegrrl
      @joannegrrl Před 5 lety

      The satchel is really good. It’s got some great storage, it can be tripod mounted, and the straps have some great configuration options for supported drawing when you don’t have a tripod or other place to create a stable support. I see it as being more useful for general sketching, where I can stick to pencils or a water brush, or where I want to sketch with my iPad. I don’t think it really replaces a pochade box, especially for oils/acrylics, but it’s certainly a great option for the pencil or watercolour sketcher on the go.

      Hi Rose - No, it's actually pretty stable, and if you're worries, you could use a small removable clamp. You probably could use this in portrait mode, but the landscape mode is pretty expandable so if I understand your question correctly, you may not find it necessary to rotate it.
