My Girl is a 1991 American coming-of-age comedy-drama film directed by Howard Zieff, written by Laurice Elehwany, and starring Dan Aykroyd, Jamie Lee Curtis, Macaulay Culkin, and Anna Chlumsky in her first role in a major motion picture. The film tells the story of an 11-year-old girl living in Madison, Pennsylvania, during the summer of 1972. The film's title refers to the classic 1964 song of the same name by The Temptations, which is also featured in the film's end credits. A book based on the film was written by Patricia Hermes.[2] The film grossed $121 million on a budget of $17 million. A sequel, My Girl 2, was released in 1994.
Culkin and Chlumsky were cast in the lead roles of Thomas J. and Vada, respectively, in January 1991. Filming took place in Bartow and Sanford, Florida beginning in February 1991. Exteriors of the Sultenfuss home were supplied by a real Victorian home in Bartow, while the house's interiors were built on a soundstage in Orlando.
The willow tree that is seen throughout the movie is not a willow tree. Due to issues finding a perfect pond with a willow tree by it, the creators had to find a different tree, remove all of its branches, and replace the tree's branches with fake willow tree branches. - Zábava

Huge shoutout to you for doing this video! My Girl is my ALL TIME favourite movie ever in life! (That’s not Disney) I even had the book growing up! I was about 9 years old when this movie came out! I can’t believe it’s been that long already! And what’s crazier is that there is a My Girl 2 which came out in ‘94 I didn’t even know about til a few years back! I’m still sad about that tree tho! What a nice tree it was! (I apologize if this posted numerous times,yt’s bein weird lol)

I just watched the My Girl video and there is one scene you may not have known about. The picnic scene on 4th of July was shot here in Ocoee Fl at one of the oldest churches. We are on the outskirts of Gotcha (Bob Ross's gravesite) and 30 minutes from Clermont

I liked the movie. Every time you show videos of Florida makes me want to there more. Not because of anything you have put out although they are always good, it's because I am ready for a change of environment. Even though New Jersey is my home, my birthplace is Florida. I can't believe that the tree is still standing after many tornadoes and hurricanes. Of course it would be still standing, it's made of metal. 😆

I loved My Girl, but it was a very dark film about a girl who is a hypochondriac, living in a funeral home, and her friend dies due to bee stings. A lot of people( including ask why I choose to write, draw and make horror films, my reply is that I find drama more scarier than horror, and My Girl is a good reference to that, it deals with real life issues. Great video.
Racheal McAdams on the Time Travellers Wife. She and I hit it off, really great people. It’s funny, a lot thought we were together. I also had so many women hitting on me, even one that started dancing in front of me because of that. She almost got fired from it though during the shoot( That I was apart of that got cut from the final film).
