  • How to Install a 1 HP 750W brush less servo motor on 2 speed mini lathes.
Includes Computer Controller and final Actual Results when done.
Fits Many 2 speed Mini Metal Lathes.
    The horsepower improvement is incredible.
Kinda like replacing the small block with a big block in your Mustang/Camaro muscle car. Just pure power, so much so that you will never use all of it.
Provides full power at any speed and that includes Spindle RPM's as low as 75 RPM's
There is enough info here to build your own but:

Your motor is a definite improvement!👍
I could not easily see, but were those regular washers for the motor mount? Thicker hardened Industrial washers (black oxide) are a necessary improvement for those crudely cast motor mounting slots in the casting in my past experience.
Respectfully, aluminum can be turned with a sharpened piece of crs 😎 and a true test is drilling a decent hole in carbon steel.
I can already tell that your upgrade would handle the needed torque for drilling. Bravo!

Hi Charlie. Thank you for watching. Of course the washers are grade 8 thick washers.

@@danielmartin382 Okay, watching on my phone's small screen, I could not distinguish the thickness as I am familiar with blk oxide examples.
As mentioned, you might want to display the increased torque by turning and drilling in carbon steel rather than soft aluminum. Cheers

Hello... is there a difference between the 2 speed 750W Servo Motor Upgrade Kit and the 2 speed 900W Servo Motor Upgrade Kit other than the wattage?
Can these kits fit the Craftex 704 mini lathe from Bust Bee Tools...?
Also ... do you ship to canada?

First thing to consider is do not rate servo motors by wattage. This is the power consumed and it is very inaccurate.
Our 750 watt BLDC servo motor produces 10 Nm torque. Lets compare that to Steeperonline.com
Their T6M80-750H2A3-M17S; 750W AC Servo Motor only produces 2.39 Nm and it tops out at 3,000 RPM
So as shown two identically rated at (750W) motors are off by 400%
      Their motor 2.39 Nm
      Our motor 10 Nm
Their advantage is their motor/driver has feeds to hook up a CNC computer and I have to say, their prices are extremely competitive.
Their disadvantage besides low torque is controls become more complex. You will need a CNC computer or additional speed control to run it.
As for your Craftex 704 mini lathe. the 900 is overkill and it tops out at 3,500 RPM.
Use our 750W servo motor. It will produce way more torque than the 3 inch wide bed needs.
