Fossil lock is not “much worse” now it is dead unfortunately. Though lab existing AND the encroaching devo tm could have made that deck insane. I played hitmonfossils, often giving my opponent 1 turn of grace before they were evo & item locked and kos began. The deck was not as problematic because it was fighting & so inconsistent, and it was unpopular/untested in general. Main thing going for the deck was that it could always find that damn lab t1. I can’t set up a maxie nearly as often to play it without lab. Colourless has defo been knocked a peg though, so cant fault the ban.
Yeah, it's essentially impossible to get the full lock anymore. In the video itself, I try not to say anything is dead or outright unplayable since I want to encourage people to try building different ideas. In the future, I'd be interested in bans to combinations of cards so we would see Fighting Fossil without Colorless Fossil, but that has its own problems.
@@EZPokepals you can play root fossil Lileep and unidentified fossil if you wanted. Root fossil Lileep doesn’t say look for the restored Lileep on the bottom 7 cards, just a Lileep. Research lab would be ideal, though
All they had to do was add a line in the card saying that Pokemon put on the bench in this way can't be moved to the active spot for two turns, including by the effect of a Pokemon Power, retreat, attack, or a trainer card, and it solves the major advantage problem.

Hex Maniac is banned in Expanded format, but not in Gym Leader Challenge format. GLC has its own ban list: gymleaderchallenge.com/ban-list
