The big problem of Gothic3 was never the gameplay or story but the huge amount of bugs when released.
story and world were so much worse than Gothic 1&2 too though. Still not horrible but just meh

Such a classic of a game, the sound score is amazing and still to this day listen to a couple of tracks.
The community has a massive overhaul mod that fixes the game to perfection, I'd highly recommend installing that for anyone that wishes to give this gem a go.

I absolutely adored this game when it first came out. It's the first one I played in the Gothic series and the first time I experienced a full open world game where you could go anywhere, do anything and attack anyone at any time.
Chronicles Of Myrtana: Archolos or Gothic 2 ios still a bit klasier but yeah i enjoyed all game they have made till now even elex 2
Fun fact: The VA for Nameless is Crispin Freeman. I didn't realize until years after I last played G3 and heard him voice an anime character (Kirei from Fate fyi).
Not sure if it's the game you were thinking of, but in MGS2 if you left Snake out in the rain for too long he could sneeze, which would alert any guards that were nearby.
absolutely loved Gothic1+2 and Risen1 but could never get into Gothic3... it was extremely buggy at the time. this actually looks playable and fun now, I might need to give it a try

I always loved G3 - to be honest, even more than G1 and G2. Probably thanks to the more modern 3D visuals :P
