In this video, we flush the brake fluid in a 2017 RAM 1500 using a power bleeder from Motive Products. This is the product I used in this video: amzn.to/3bP4zZT
Thanks for sharing and confirming.... I'm about to replace/upgrade rotors and pads with Power Stop Z36s and I look your vacuum pump tool. I did get the one from Harbor Freight that's pneumatic, but yours proves less moving parts.. lol. Thank you Buddy, and I'm also in FL, but Central!
I’m from Michigan and I bought my truck in 2020. It’s a 2016 and was in Canada before I got it. Just checked my fluid the other day and it looks just like yours. Can’t believe it got that dirty and contaminated. Will be ordering that Motive bleeder soon.
@@JoesGarageProductionsLLC no worries. I just got my pressure bleeder. Did you use the gasket that came with it? I can’t seem to get the cap on the reservoir with the gasket. Goes on fine without it. Also do you know what the extra cap is for, it doesn’t have a hole in it?
Going to attempt this here soon, quick question. When refilling the power bleeder should I close all bleeder caps? When refilling is necessary does reliving pressure off the bleeder allow air in the system? If air does breach the system do I need to bleed each individual bleeder valve again?
I can't say for sure.... I believe they advertised the adapter to work on most Chrysler vehicles. I can tell you it worked on my 2017 RAM and my wife's 2015 Grand Cherokee no issues
so if i need a scan tool for the abs, your method doesnt technically flush the whole system right? do i absolutely need to flush the abs or is just flushing it with the power bleeder enough? meaning what if i dont have a scan tool
Thanks for the education man God bless you

Yeah that thing is awesome! It's almost time for me to do another brake fluid flush in my vehicles. Good luck with your project!
@@JoesGarageProductionsLLC do you remember what diameter hose you needed to go on the bleeder?
@@midnightt6991 oh boy... sorry I do not. I actually borrowed that hose from a mityvac kit that I have.

You're doing a four wheel drive?
Hugh help! Always looking to save $ when I can do myself. Thanks
Thanks - glad you found it helpful!
Thank you for an excellent video. I'll order one of these units. I'm assuming they should work on a 2012 Ram 1500?

I can confirm it works for 2011 1500 u have to use one of the rubber adapters that comes with it for the early 4th gens
You briefly mentioned needing a code reader for the ABS system. Should that be addressed at the same time?
Wondering that too
Great video!! Do you know the part number on that motive bleeder? I want to order it but they’re customer service is horrible 😖
Thanks for the feedback! This is the bleeder that I used in this video: amzn.to/3K5tveR

You should be fine using just the power bleeder. Actually just did that procedure again last weekend!
How many liters did you y
Use to complete the job?
I think I used almost 2 quarts of brake fluid. I went kinda nuts though :-)
@@JoesGarageProductionsLLC... Thanks. 😁
dealership charged me $160 for this
Yep, the tool pays for itself the first time you use it and it really doesn't take all that long.
