I just realised that Rengokuâs âhappy dreamâ was his dad not recognizing him as a Hashira because for Rengoku, even his dad is not proud, Rengoku is still happy no matter what. Plus his little bro was there for him anyway.
I think his happy dream was being able to tell his brother how proud of him he was regardless of their father
I also feel like it's a reflection on his maturity and acceptance over the matter. He could have this dream essentially be whatever he wants, but he chose to live in the reality that he already faces because he's accepted it for as is. Every other character had or wanted dreams where they didn't have to live in the reality that they were in other than Rengoku because he fully accepted the situation.
Sorry for the late reply but in the manga that scene was not in his dream but was shown as a memory after the mugen train arc. So it was actually a memory from the past.

yeah whereas a hashira can kill a lower moon without breaking a sweat, an upper moon is canonically equivalent to at least 2-3 hashira and even if you had 3 hashiras fighting, it would still be a hard-fought battle with no guarantees

Not only did we not get much time to really see more about the Hashiras but we didnât see any hint to Zenitsu making his new Thunder breathing form, didnât get much of a training arc, and didnât get more insight to Nezuko being the chosen demon.

Donât worry, I know a lot of people were upset about rengokuâs death, but I think in the grand scheme of the story, it happens at the perfect time. Itâs a fantastic way to introduce the real danger that the upper moons pose, and also shows the strength and loyalty of the Hashira, despite them originally not accepting Tanjiro and Nezuko. It also opens the door to character deaths, and really proves that this isnât a story that provides plot armor to characters. I think that makes it so much more exciting, the anticipation of whatâs going to happen next.
If you line up all the story beats of Demon slayer, Mugen train and Rengokuâs death really stand out as a distinct turning point in the series. So I hope everyone that was upset knows, his death wasnât meaningless.

Akaza punch a whole on Rengoku's body using his right hand, and if you close your left eye there's really huge difference in eyesight.
Plus if you look closely right where after Rengoku cuts Akaza right arm and body into half, the right arm regenerates and maybe Rengoku didn't see that coming.
But yeah there's also other factors as to why Rengoku lost, he might be slightly deaf(if you watch the Rengoku Story Arc on the Manga), Akaza was too strong and fast for him.

Itâs probably some shit to do with the demon slayers not being realised as a legitimate organisation so the general public are ignorant about it. Itâs not like the demon slayer Corp runs the train either
exactly as daniel said, it wasn't like the demon corp could stop the running of the train, plus since this is set in an old era of japan, it's probably the only train in that location capable of travelling far distances. The people their are already ignorant that demons and demon slayers even exist, as you recall one episode in the anime, the guy that lost his fiance around episode 8 didn't think they existed regardless of the stories he heard of them until he met tanjiro and saw him fighting the 3 demons in the bog. That's the perception of most humans, 'if you don't see it, then there is nothing to believe.'

The way Rengoku immediately accepts death in order to protect Tanjiro and the others is just so heart warming. He doesnât care about his own potential or what couldâve been. All that mattered was that everyone was safe. I wish he wouldâve lived longer, as he wouldâve been an amazing mentor for Tanjiro. But his flames live on forever to support Tanjiro.

akaza was a super strong fighter as human and he had criminal record as well (because he was in need for money and desperate to save his father dying from illness) so it's unavoidable that he has a lot of enemies, at one point those cowards and weakling people resenting him poisoned a girl he loves and his father to death and he snapped to massacre
The subconscious area beyond the barrier also represents their breathing techniques. Rengoku's has fire everywhere, Inosuke's has him as a beast, Zenitsu's is dark except for the flashes of his attacks, and Tanjiro's is an infinite body of water with his core like a sun.

Rengoku words carry so much wisdom and hits you hard, he was inspired by his mother because he is strong that he must protect the weak, he is an amazing brother and a hero, he saved a lot of people on the train and the trio, he told them because his a hashira his duty is to protect them because theyâre the future, when Rengoku was dying and saw his mother telling him sheâs proud of him, he smiled happily knowing that he fulfilled his duty to the end, he died a honourable death, goodbye and thank you Kyojuro Rengoku.

@@AeroStanley lot of the breathing techniques have interesting names, like shinobu's butterfly dance, in japanese its mushi no kokyu: chou no mai tawamure. tawamure means caprice, a sudden unexplained shift in mood, which kinda fits shinobu and the whole scene where she uses it, it transitions from a swarm of butterflies to shinobu suddenly slashing someone.

Rengoku be that character that comes off as odd with his "Umai" introduction. He's also the character that hits you in the feels an hour after his introduction because you see what an amazing person he is right before he is taken away.
You can see that rengoku is afraid and knows that he don't stand a chance and that last speech was to motivate himself. Perfect direction
